  1. When I read this story yesterday on Fox News, surprisingly it seems that there was actually some support for Six Flags with many of the GP actually saying that they made the right choice on their decision and recalled what happened at Darien Lake a few years back. Of course there were a couple complainers here and there who didn't read the rest of the story or understand the importance of safety, but it kind of gets me thinking that maybe it might not hurt the park too badly. Basically those who saying that they are going to boycott Six Flags are shallow and are only looking at the words "Military Veteran", "Denied", "Roller Coaster", and "No Refund." Just looking at the comments on the story posted to The Blaze on the first post... wow, that's mostly night-and-day!
  2. I came across this recently on Facebook: http://jewishbusinessnews.com/2014/03/15/ghermezian-brothers-reach-transit-road-improvement-agreements-for-american-dream-mall-nfl-teams-drop-objections/
  3. Just signed up for Dorney Park! Should be a lot of fun!
  4. I totally forgot about that! The toggle switch for the spinning is right after that hill, but still I kind of have a feeling whatever happened occurred somewhere around there.
  5. I'm thinking that it could be the double-up before the second set of switchbacks. Maybe depending on how fast the car might be spinning it might do something there. But still there might need to be another factor included. But I do think it might be an intense part of the ride where I could see this happening. I do kind of hope that this gives the park a wake-up call to be more safety conscientious, but I doubt it. I'm surprised they got this far without something happening.
  6. I've been kind of wondering the same thing as well. It would be nice to be able to create our own tracks for our trains to ride on, but from the folders I see in the C Drive, I really don't know. I hope that we can because I have some nifty ideas that I would like to implement such as a skyride and monorail.
  7. I would expect crowds to be not too bad since schools probably won't be getting out until later in June. But speaking of which, expect school groups to be present. Wait times should be too bad if you get there at opening and head straight to Fahrenheit, then go to the very back to Lightning Racer and work your way forward to Comet and Skyrush, which have shorter wait times later in the day. None of the coasters have a single-rider line; only Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge does. The park does offer a Fast Track Pass, which is good for one ride on nine selected coasters, but I don't think the park would be full enough to need one. Be sure to check the Hersheypark Stadium's website about concert dates as the park may be slightly fuller on those days. Hope this helps!
  8. I think the roughest rides I've had on Thunderhawk had to have been back in 2006, which was brutal. A few years later they did a pretty extensive re-tracking and re-structuring project on it, which made it a lot better (but the kick in the figure-eight was still bad). I has been getting a tad rougher each year, but I really don't think it is back to the way it was when I first rode it, but I guess we'll see this year. Kind of looking forward to Snake Pit, but I will kind of miss Riptide Run in the long-run even if it was horribly designed and I scraped my back a few times on the long slide from the foam coming off. Kind of reminded me of a Schlitterbahn-like water slide/lazy river.
  9. To activate your product key, go to the Steam homepage, go to the toolbar at the very top of the page (the smaller one) and click on Games. Next click on Activate a Product on Steam on the drop-down menu, then follow the directions.
  10. Looks like they went in with a scalpel and carefully took out Rolling Thunder. I wonder if they kept the queue untouched for a reason? I guess we'll find out if it stays like that during the season.
  11. Usually it is the manufacturer that sets the requirements for the rides and there might be a possibility in where the parks might further tweak them to make them more stricter. Since Arrow is out of business, I think that means that the park now has just about full control over the requirements now. It sounds like to me that they want to remain consistent across the board with their Arrow suspended coasters and changed it to be the same as The Bat. It wouldn't shock me if people who have visited CP, went down to KI and complained why their 47" child couldn't ride theirs. Judging from the ride experience, 48" is way too high for Iron Dragon, but as for Flight Deck/ The Bat, it would kind of make a little more sense, but then again SFMM's Ninja is lower.
  12. More facts are trickling in: http://www.wfmz.com/news/knoebels-unveils-look-of-parks-new-roller-coaster/-/121458/24580328/-/s49wolz/-/index.html Top Speed: 56mph Track length: 2,050 feet Trains: 5 with eight riders per train. Honestly, the way they are releasing this info is kind of unorganized. Each news station seems to be just getting a piece of the puzzle and all the details are being released in the comments section of their pages. As for their site, all that there is for Impulse is a link to the NoLimits screenshots. I kind of wished they did a news release.
  13. I'd say if the train can have multiple stations, then I guess it could be possible to make one, but I guess we'll find out in the next few weeks.
  14. I'm already starting to think up what scenery items and flat rides I can make for this game! I wonder if transportation rides are possible to be made (such as a ski-lift) in it?
  15. If it is indeed going to be open this year, then I'm going to have to stop and check it out sometime this summer. As much as I want the park to stay open, the feeling I've been getting from the news is that ever since the ballroom burnt down, the park has been barely hanging on. Hopefully my feeling will change when I get there.
  16. But in seriousness, I think Soaker was partly chopped up using a blowtorch from what I saw last year. The picture of the control panel might not mean much if you think about it. It may just mean that it is a new ride that would need a control panel.
  17. Wow, Ocean Kingdom looks really detailed! From the photos I've seen with Flying Over the Rainforest, it seems that the ride makes up for it's lack of a keyhole effect with it's really close to the ground dives and tunnels. I'm guessing the park is somewhat like a SeaWorld since I don't think it looks like there are any flat rides. Great trip report, Yin!
  18. Really? A Johnny Rockets? That doesn't strike me as something Kennywood-like. I really hope that they plan on moving the Dole-Whip stand to another location in the park.
  19. Wow, I never realized how tall it was going to be! Glad that this park is in my plans to visit again this year. Random question, but was the former Delta Flyer/Eagle's Flight Skyride station(currently a funnel cake stand) removed for this?
  20. I think we'd see some serious roof covers over the paths and a canopy over the top of the drop track before they'd close Zoomanjaro or Ka.
  21. Long-Distance phone calls rules out a GCI. Looks like RMC is still in the running... yay!
  22. Chickie's and Pete's? Sounds like it might be one of the best places to eat in the park that is a franchise. At least I will feel at home since Hershey is adding one as well!
  23. Cedar Fair: Maverick Six Flags: El Toro SeaWorld Entertainment: Griffon Herschend: Outlaw Run Parques Reunidos: Phantom's Revenge Hershey Entertainment: Skyrush I haven't been to Universal or a Disney park... yet.
  24. I believe it did get a refurbishment last off-season because the cabin was silver for the first weekend of Springtime in the Park. I don't think anyone said about a Project 2015 or anything like that. Knoebels did, so maybe that could be the confusion.
  25. Don't forget about that one Texas SkyScreamer cycle where it took them over eight minutes load and dispatch because two of the attendants were scared of a giant-a$$ cockroach crawling around on the platform! There were so many cockroaches out as we were leaving the park. You pretty much had to watch where you walked... The evening crew at Titan was the worst I have ever seen in my life. I was really close to going to guest services. You pretty much summed up Six Flags Over Texas perfectly.
