Where to get my winter fix?
Sunfire replied to milst1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I know that the Disneyland Resort (both DL and DCA) are open 365 days a year, so you can literally hit them up any day. -
School can be so annoying. At least in certain classes, mainly chemistry. First of all, chemistry is the hardest class I've ever taken. The second month of school has just barely ended and my brain's been hurting all the time because of all the math involved. Second, it doesn't help much that my teacher has his head up his butt. Every time I ask him for help, it's almost always the same response. Something along the lines of, "Why weren't you paying attention to the notes? It's all right there!" He always says that in the same pissed off tone acting like I'm "not mature enough to be in the class." I mean, what's his problem? Can't he just help me with the problem instead of just making it harder for me? Then the class would be a lot less annoying and stressful.

^Starbursts rock, but the Berries and Creme are nasty in my opinion. It's all about the original flavors!

This was very unexpected. I was just sitting here on the computer, and everything shook violently. Luckily nothing broke.

I just felt it too. I've never felt one before. That caught me off guard!

I bet Jahan's favorite movie is Happy Feet.

I agree with Axman. The Zac Spin and Ball coasters look really fun! -
Yes, Paramount made gigantic mistakes. But I really hope that Cedar Fair will do good things. Actually, they have already made some improvements. Paramount was about to take out the Orbit (Enterprise) but when C.F. stepped in, they saved it from being taken out. And, of course, they're ending the 7 year coaster drought! They also have been tidying the park up, such as cleaning queue lines and little things like that. I can see great things for the park's future.

I'm with you, Tomi. The rides at Bonbonland are way f'ed up. But I think the worst name for a coaster has to be The Flying Coaster. That name has no originality whatsoever. Why not name it "Eagle" or "Jet?" That would make more sense.

YES! Finally, a new coaster for Great America! Oh, I can't wait for the 2009 season. Also, Firefall sounds really fun. Anyone else notice it has the same name as the one at KD (minus the Tomb Raider)? Oh well, two new things in two years. That freakin rocks! Ok, I'll admit it (if you haven't figured it out yet). I am a Great America fanboy. When I read this annoucement, I needed a tissue (lol!). Also, the extended hours sound great. Now I can go to the park when it finally gets dark! Maybe this is a sign of good things to come. Or it could be Cedar Fair trying to jack up the price for the 49ers. I hope it's the first possibility.

In my opinion, I think the Mickey Head on Screamin' should stay. For me, it's been like an iconic mark for DCA. Also, it's hilarious to hear the general public speculate about how the loop goes all the way through the head (including the ears!). To be frank, I like DCA the way it is. I really enjoy the California theme to it, and I am a Californian. Maybe it's just because I'm very conservative, but I'm not very thrilled about this huge change of the park. But if change is what it takes to make the park more successful, I hope it does the park some good. When it comes to the removal of Maliboomer and Orange Stinger, I think it would be good. For one, Maliboomer didn't do much for me. The scream shields ruined the fun of shouting at the top of my lungs, and the launch wasn't really powerful enough to be thrilling. I'd rather ride Big Shot at the top of Stratosphere. And Orange Stinger? It's a bit too random for me. Bees inside of a peeled orange isn't the best idea of "theme." The ride program was far too short to be any fun. With Mulholland Madness, I just want that ride to go altogether. I rode it once, and I found it very painful and not worth the half hour wait. I don't see why a lot of people find Tower of Terror to be a dud. I thought it was very fun, but then again, I haven't been on the MGM one. The night time show sounds like a wonderful idea! I can imagine it now. Being around Paradise Pier, seeing the lights of the rides in the background, and the show's dazzling water dancing throught the air. It sounds magical. I hope Disney will do something great with this. I know that I am defending DCA, but I really enjoy it. It has tons of potential to become a great park. Of course, it will never be as incredible as Disneyland, but that's for another post.

I can't wait until next season! But I really think they should stick with "Great America" instead of putting the word California in front of it. Whenever I go, I don't say, "I'm going to Cedar Fair's Great America." I just say that I'm going to GA. -

Great America To Be Sold Again?
Sunfire replied to Sean Menefee's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The fact that they might change it to "California's" GA, then it will be easier to tell the difference between SFGAM. But I'm glad that they're keeping the Great America name. I don't want to see a name change, as it's been called GA ever since it opened in 76. -

Could a Track Jumping Coaster Be Possible?
Sunfire replied to Ccron10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Even though that sounds like a really awesome ride, it is probably way too dangerous and complicated to operate. That's just my opinion. But if that could really happen, I'd be on it in a heartbeat. -
Great America To Be Sold Again?
Sunfire replied to Sean Menefee's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If the stadium goes through, but the 49ers dont buy the park, perhaps if they put it in that overflow lot, then Great America could possibly go on to be a successful park. But if the 49ers do buy the park, Great America is screwed. A football team is not meant to run an amusement park. What on earth would they do with it? -
They got rid of that? Good. That seemed really dumb (Although it was fitting for the theme I guess). I would not like to have to dance and chant to get on a ride. They didn't get rid of it, it's just not very many people do it because it's a little embarassing. You don't even have to do the clap or the chant. Every time I go, all I do is repeatedly jump up and down in no rhythm at all and the sensors think that it's the stomping and so it does the water/water/fire thing. I look like an idiot, but it enhances the rider's ride (especially the fire). Yeah, I the fire doesn't look that insane from the station, but you feel every bit of heat on the ride! But I can't stand it when they don't fill the station for chanting, but probably because Cedar Fair doesn't like theming for some reason.

TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS

1. Top Gun (PGA) 2. I've only ridden one. But Top Gun defenitely Kicks A$$!. -
A eurofighter would be cool. They could advertise it as "the ONLY ride in the Bay Area with a more than vertical drop!" The crowds would eat that up like funnel cake. Only thing is: eurofighters probably have a low capacity due to the fact that each train only holds eight riders, unless they could load as fast as Space Mountain at DL.
