I LOVE pinball It is sad to see them disappear from the streets. I have 5 machines at home: attack from mars. cirqus voltaire, funhouse, demolition man and medieval madness. I love to invite some friends drink a few cold beers and play pinbaal all night long.

Robb Alvey's 30 Pounds in 30 Days - 2008!
jaap replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Best off luck to you robb. I am also on a diet right now, but a different diet...... I need to gain weight! My diet started 8 weeks ago, and I went from a BMI of 19,5 to 21. What is my diet? In morning for breakfast and in the evening before going to sleep, I take a shake wich contains a banana, a scoop of protein,2 scoops of weight gainer and a scoop of brinta (dutch kind of wheat product) and milk. During my diet I go to the gym 4 times a week to work out real intense. So most of the new weight is muscle mass and not fat. And you know what the best thing is: I feel GREAT! -

Personally the scare is part of the fun. Rides can scare you a little before you get on but when the train goes down that first drop your body gives an "ok" to your brain and you feel great that you concurred your fear. On a side note: I had my birthday last week and I got a tandem sky dive jump from my girlfriend as present. When the plane took off I was pretty nervous. And then at 9000 feet the door opened and my heart was pumping like crazy. Climbed towards the door and put my legs out the plane and jumped, that was the scariest second of my life. But then it felt great and I absolutely enjoyed the 30 second free fall and dare I say it: maybe better than s*x. Back on the ground I felt exstatic! -
Real sad to see those monkeys chained. And why would they put those monkeys in the zoo? they are all over thailand living in the wild????? The SLC look real nice and it is even the + version with the extra helix. thanks for this TR.

I haven't been in the coasters mentioned by the first poster but i have to backup robb. Just came back from my yearly trip to phantasialand and winja's fear and force kick ass. Not only do they deliver an incredible fun ride but the are also great for spectators. Personally I like Fear the most. -

I got mario kart on the release date, I pre-ordered it 2 months ago. And I am glad I did because it is sold out everywhere now. And this game is AWESOME. The steering with the steering wheel feels really good although it is very sensitive, so a small motion is enough to steer around the sharpest corner. The addition of the tricks works out really well. Also the motors are a nice addition and are really well balanced against the karts (although if you master the controls of the motor they look to be the fastest choice) Because there are 12 players now instead of 8 the action is really chaotic but fun. I also feel that the difficulty is a bit higher than mario kart DS. The online play is really good and lag free, but there are times that people get disconnected whitout warning. But it is so much fun to play online and because your overall score is kept you want to play again and again and again If you have a WII order your copy of mario kart now! If you don't have a WII go out and go buy a WII an order a copy of mario kart NOW! -

.I was thinking about buying a console since playstation 1 was the last one I had. Was offcourse thinking about a Wii but really wanted to play one before I bought one. Finally got to play the Wii at a friends house last thursday evening. And have to say me and my girlfriend where blown away. I bought one right next day. I was really lucky to find one because december 5th is "sinterklaas" in the netherland which is like the dutch santa claus, finally found a "bart smit"which had some in stock but they where selling like hot cakes. I was 10 minutes in the store and I bought 1 and 2 others bought 1. The really problem now is finding a second wiimote, my friend has one in back order for 2 months. I am really looking forward to the moment mario kart wii releases. -

I love it, I love it, I love it This park is only a 100 mile drive for me, I haven't been there yet cause boosterbike didn't interest me that much, but after seeing the video of this baby I will definitely make a trip there this summer. "vliegende hollander" eat you heart out, troy will be the best new ride this year in the netherlands! -

I just read somewhere on the internet that the Wii already hit the 6 MILLION!!!! worldwide sales. The Wii is already catching up with the 360 which sold 10 million. go wii go -
This only proves that the big companies laugh their asses off over us dumb europeans! We pay the highest price tag in the world for the PS3 and as a bonus we get slimmed down version. I will just stick whith my DS right now and maybe next year when things settle I will look into a next gen console. Haven't played a WII yet but if it is as much fun as the DS that is the one I am going for.

The godfather: I'll make you an offer you can't refuse. the matrix: Welcome to the real world. pulp fiction: Can I have some of your delicious beverage to wash this down.

Just bought a DS lite last week, and the funny thing is that I had to search the whole town just to find a black one White DS everywhere here in the netherlands. Totally addicted to mario kart right now.
-
I just bought one a week ago (plenty of stock in europe ) And I have to say this is one kick ass handheld!!! There are tons of different games, one for every taste. brain age, mario kart, advance wars .... just to name 3 totally awesome games! Even my girlfriend who never was into gaming loves the DS. Only downside is that I get less playtime on the DS because she is playing!

From what I here that 4 million is the woldwide figure by years end. Probably 2 million in the us, 1 million japan and 1 million for europe.

VIDEO: Pirates of the Caribbean Pinball Machine
jaap replied to Golfie's topic in Random, Random, Random
nice pictures,. Every time I see a picture of elvira she looks tons of fun to meet in person, and I am not oly talking about cleavage (is that spelled correctly??? but you know what I mean). I really hope that popadiuk will one day return to pinball designing, I love his work. And yes excluding star wars: episode 1, you can tell he didn't like how the pinball2000 platform turned out. -

A news reporter from the dutch newspaper "algemeen dagblad" also went on a all mcdonalds diet after the release of the movie. But he didn't gain weight because he also eat the salads and the yoghurts. But I did find the movie entertaining, because I didn't take it to seriously. I went to the usa for the first time in my life last september, and the truth is that small size drinks in america are called large in europe aint that funny. btw I loved the states and will return some day.

Speaking english is not a german hobby But they are more willingly to understand you than the french.

OK i'm gonna put my flame sesistant suit on but I have to say this: I stayed in the sahara in september and I liked it! Is it as good as the bellaggio or the like....... offcourse not but I paid $50,- a night and stayed in the biggest hotel room I ever had Also from the hotel you can take the elevator to the monorail which will take you to center off all the action on high class strip within 5 minutes. If you want some real shabby hotels go to the french country side and you will get a bed that makes your back hurt, no airco, and a shower with 3 drops of cold water a minute for only €100,- a night.

Lethal Weapon Pursuit closed for good
jaap replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not the best coaster in the world but defenitly the best coaster in the park. A real shame it is gone, I really loved this coaster despite its painful restraints. I heard somewhere that they closed it due too high maintenance cost. -

What suprises me the most with this ride is the speed they are building the damn thing. If they keep this rate up, it will be finished before the end of the year, 4 months before the 2007 opening. -

Photo TR: SFMM with the VIP Thrill Pass
jaap replied to SoCalDude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
after reading your TR I decided to get a VIP pass when I vistit SFMM in september. But still got a couple of questions: What rides is it good on, I know it is not good for X, but does it apply to the rest of the coasters? How does the entrance work, do you get in trough the exit? can you pick your place (frontseat) or are you assigned a place? thanks in advance. -
here is my first post on the board Going to visit SFMM on saturday 9 september. I really can't wait. My girlfriend is no so excited because she is a bit affraid of riding coasters. But I have to visit SFMM when in california, she is going to take a good book with her to read.
