  1. That story sounded like a typical day at SFA until they mentioned the ferris wheel thing. (which they don't have) I'm going to reserve judegment on Shapiro until he has a full year to play with his parks. If he's going to pull the plug entirely on adding new thrill rides, and JUST add family stuff, I'm not going to be too fond of him... but I am looking forward to not having to drink everytime I visit a SF park in the future.
  2. Very cool, I didn't think they would tease about the new diver so early. Saying "like nothing else in the world" is a pretty bold statement considering SheiKra is right down the coast. Hopefully this means the ride will have a unique layout. Looking forward to next spring's Dollywood/BGE trip.
  3. I'm an acrophobe but will go on any roller coaster out there. I've been on Dragster and Ka and they didn't bother me at all. I guess I'm not really afraid of heights so much as I am afraid of being STUCK way up high... like S&S turbo drops bug me out, but I'll do them, the fear is part of the fun. The launched Intamins rocket coasters over 400' are easier for me to ride than any large ferris wheel, skyride, turbo drop, or Intamin 2nd gen freefall.
  4. Wow, brilliant work! Can't wait to see these animated! Keep it up.
  5. The people have spoken... Over the last couple days I have added a midway (which still is not done yet!) and I began the path up to the mining town at the top of the mountain. (not seen in this update) Carousel, Snack Bar, and Ripsaw. Ripsaw The carousel gardens. The brick building is the gift shop, the building to the right of it is the snack bar. In the background is the 2-story arcade. An overview of the midway. New rides include Ripsaw (giant frisbee) Bumper Cars, Airscape (aileron), and a Carousel. Buildings include a video arcade, gift shop, and laser tag arena, as well as a snack bar.
  6. I love the trains! Thanks for the photos.
  7. I may be wrong, but wasn't park (and at least one roller coaster) on that site before this couple could even possibly be alive?
  8. Can't these people just drop dead already... Geez, what do they never leave the house or something?
  9. There's an ATI card that works wonders in my PC. I picked it up at Wal Mart for 94 bucks. (I usually never buy electronics at Wally's but it's actually pretty nice!)
  10. I usually end up talking to people who are talking about rides, or maybe wearing a tshirt from another park. Then there's always the people you want to kill while waiting in line... smoking, cutting, making a scene. I usually end up talking to them too, just not very nicely.
  11. I ebtter go though that walkthrough this year like I always mean to, might not be there next year. Sorry to be OT, but speaking of jersey beaches... Are the beaches at Wildwood, Ocean City, Seaside Heights, and Atalntic City still open? I'm going down there very soon.
  12. Geez, first wizard's cavern and now the whole thing! Way to sell out on a boardwalk tradition, god forbid you try and improve the place to turn a profit. If you're going to build a new pier anyways, why not leave Funtown be?
  13. All I can say is that Cedar Point was worth the 16 hour drive from Rhode Island, so yeah.
  14. The same thing that happens everywhere else... reality. At least they got the scumbag.
  15. I, for one, am glad this one is in Australia, I have family in the USAF stationed in Woomera (sp?) and they finally get to ride a good coaster. At one point, my cousin Jake's favorite coaster was the SLC at Warner Bros. WHAT?!?!?!?!
  16. I really like the project so far, especially the 4d. Are you going to add custom supports to Nitro?
  17. I hear ya, bro. I haven't been on Superman since I rode Tatsu last month. I feel like such a whore.
  18. I'm going to NJ in a couple weeks and I either have to choose between Clementon for Tsunami or Ocean City/Seaside Heights. Is it true the beaches are closed in Jersey? It may make me lean toward Tsunami even more.
  19. Kraken and RNRC are both in my top 10 of 225 or so coasters I've been on so I've have to say yes. I haven't been on Everest yet, but if I was in the are I'd be sure to check that out! I forget if IOA/Uni has a one day hopper. I know everytime I go I'm able to do both parks in one day.(I just forget what kind of ticket I bought!) This would leave you time to check out all the Disney Parks within 2 days. Just an idea...
  20. I agree 100% on ANY of the Superman coasters (and La Ronde's Goliath!). Red and blue only looks good on the Patriot, IMO. I'm also known to hate X's pink track.
  21. I've got a quick comment on Hydra... I travelled over to PA to ride Hydra last year and was actually very impressed. It is true the ride isn't very forceful, but talk about a unique little B&M floorless... I got to ride 15 times on a Friday in its debut year. It was running well thanks to great operations. If anything, it's got a very unique layout and the visuals are awesome. Make sure you give this one more than one ride, and check out the front seat for the best visuals, obviously. Have fun!
  22. I've been to both parks and have to say that given the choice, I'd take the Universal/Busch trip. While Cedar Point has awesome roller coasters and some great flat rides (just recently!), IOA and US have the awesome theming combined with a few great B&Ms and arguably one of the best dark rides, Spiderman. Mummy at USF is also extremely well done, plus they have some o fmy favs like T23D, MIB, etc. Not to mention that if you go to BGT you have 3 more excellent B&Ms, plus animals, free beer. I reccomend you go in Ocotber to hit HowlOScream and Horror Nights. As of right now, it looks like neither park will likely get a new major ride next year, so now's a good time to hit Florida, whereas next year Cedar Point will have the new Intamin going. (hopefully)
  23. Six Flags America. Surprised my car wasn't on cinder blocks when I got back to it, I saw SO many things that made me shake my head throughout the day including the worst ride operations I've ever seen, dangerous operations like crossing tracks without signalling, gangs, etc. Even the Intamin megacoaster couldn't make up for that dump.
  24. LMAO slick, but we all know the real reason why we Americans are jealous of Aussies...
  25. I build a pretty good walkthrough every year in the woods in my backyard every October. It just gets better every year as I'm able to buy more lighting, foggers, etc. I can't imagine what it would take to build a dynamic machine though, I'd imagine it would have to be kept on the DL if you had the jerky neighbors I have.
