  1. Im crushed.. but thats ingenious!
  2. Was up at Hershey today and took a few pictures. I haven't seen this big support yet I dont think. Is this the lift?
  3. I remember reading on Dorney Parks website that the strip of paint where the wheels touch is a smooth surface.. the rest of the track is kind of grainy and it would be a rougher ride if the wheels ran directly on that.
  4. They could easily stick a station in the back part of the bone yard and still fit a stage for Rock The Universe, Mardi Gras, and RTU in that area. I doubt they'd take up the whole area with coaster track so close to the ground it'd hurt traffic flow. The only bad thing would be getting to the ride! I'm still amazed they are doing this with Harry Potter opening a year or so later at IOA! However, because of that fact I doubt we'll see anything on the scale of Hollywood Dream the Ride.
  5. Yeah with the amount of guests Disney gets a year you would expect some people to die on the resort.. its natural. I just hope the families don't decide they are going to sue Disney because they were old... which i'm sure isn't too far fetched in the US today.
  6. Wow! Was this ever made public by the park?
  7. ^Probably! When I worked at Dragons, during Spring Break the line would be fully extended and the end would almost be at the dragons. But with 6 trains on the wait would be just over 100 minutes. However, MOST (at least 75%) of the extended queue back in the woods is unusable. The ropes back there are just about completely destroyed and you would get a migraine just looking at it. I'm sure that'll be fixed.. or torn out.. for the Harry Potter stuff.. isn't the Forbidden Forest going back there? And Derek is right about the ropes. Universal only wants to pay for one attendant to be down at greeter (since Dragons is the red headed step child of the park) so there was no way to have any control of the crowds and people entering the queue with that wide of an opening. So they created that bottleneck.
  8. I don't remember the Comet having trains that looked like that! Especially not within the last 7-8 years! Weird..
  9. Wow it never even crossed my mind that SFMM is right in the path of that fire. Elissa, is your complex in a safe place right now or are you preparing to maybe have to evacuate?
  10. When I worked at Universal we had a policy that we didn't allow re rides (at Dragons and even on Unicorn) to allow your body time to calm down from the forces before you went on again. Guess it makes sense.. but as a guest I wouldn't agree with it either.
  11. Nice! I was hoping you would do some trip report'age. Looks like you had fun! I wish I didn't literally work ALL weekend! I'll make sure I ask off in May though.. that would suck! My good friend is a front desk manager at the Hershey Lodge! I could have had you get hooked up! It's been a few years since I've been to Hershey's Halloween event. Do they just rename the coasters? It's kind of depressing the SooperBoo-perLooper was closed! I'll wait until you post the next update before I start asking a lot of questions
  12. All I have to say about this picture is that's some crazy timing or amazing luck!!
  13. Well the project name for the new ride is called "Project Strongarm".. and Universal signed a contract with Kuko.. the company that makes the Robocoaster so there's a very good chance that's what the Hogwarts ride will be. I've heard that it will be a robocoaster (on a track) with different scenes you will fly through.. probably like Soarin' combined with Spiderman, combined with a coaster..
  14. ^ People on here sometimes have a "god complex" where they feel you need to abide by their typically prepubescent life styles.. or they cry. I'm excited for the changes to IOA. I'll see if I can get any of my old IOA people to let me know if ANYTHING is going on yet.
  15. I got my letter today too.. however it's at my parent's house and I didn't have time to go pick it up. We can figure this all out when it gets closer to May but if anyone needs a place to stay let me know. You can always crash here in York that night and drive up to Hershey when it opens and hang out there all day.
  16. I can't even watch the whole video without wanting to vomit all over the place..
  17. That's so cool! I wish I was still down there and could have been a part of the celebration. Epcot is easily one of the best parks out there. I understand that some younger people may feel differently but I can't think of any place I'd rather just be at and relax.. and the rides are all very good.. and if you're over 21 you really can't beat it! I heard the fireworks finale was amazing too. Great TR. PS.. You piano players at the Comedy Warehouse are amazing..
  18. Yes.. in 1999 dollars.. Storm Runner AND Fahrenheit cost more than S:ROS. Nowadays that 12 million is probably more like $18 million with inflation and rising steel costs.
  19. There's a ton of things I'd like to address quickly. ^ You know.. that's a good question!! If I'm on the train and it stops on the lift.. I'm just going to start praying! Who started the whole "gimmick" thing anyways? I think its great that Intamin and B&M and all of the other companies are always inventing new types of coasters. I mean come on people.. THINK A LITTLE.. If you go back to the wooden coaster era and see a new steel coaster being built you'd say it was a gimmick! Then loops were gimmicks, then inverted coasters, then launched coasters, then vertical drops, then Dragster's, and then vertical lift.. basically.. EVERY coaster is a gimmick the parks add for one reason.. to get people to come to the park! I love TPR and I've been reading Robb's reports longer than 95% of people on here! I have VHS tapes from 1997 from Robb! Stuff that he probably doesn't want anyone to see! This whole rant about "cliques" or "clicks" or however they are spelled is just pointless. Anyone who thinks TPR doesn't have them must not pay much attention to TR's. I personally don't see what the big deal is. TPR has people that have the opportunity to go on a lot more trips and post a lot more reports and I consider them a click.. and I love it! If we didn't have the 15-20 people that are always posting some crazy things then there wouldn't be a whole lot going on this website! It's not really a big deal. And as far as the whole "chosen few".. all we did was have fun solving clues and figuring out the mystery that surrounded the whole thing. No one "chosen" was expecting anything other than getting clues and having fun with the whole thing. I'm personally not going to feel guilty about it. Eric
  20. ^ The Comet always draws in the crowds too. For being such an old ride it almost always has a 25-30 minute wait.. even on slow days! That's good.. but bad because the Comet is awesome!
  21. I sort of wish Nantimi would have explained where some of the things came from that they posted. Especially the first "napkin sketch" of the layout. As well as why use the whole Boston thing.. etc. It would be cool to see how their thought process contributed to the clues they sent out ya know? Maybe Donan can tell us a little more. And as far as the 11.. I know 4 of them! Who are the other 7? I'm surprised no one has said anything yet! I'm sort of reluctant because it's way more than I ever expected from just having fun! Plus everyone called Nantimi fake and said we were all wasting our time and yada yada yada. And well... HPFan.. you were right about the flat! I guess I owe you lunch! haha. edit-- missed an " ' "
  22. Yeah.. some people can't have fun. If I hated the thread THAT much I probably wouldn't have wasted my time reading it... sadly... some people don't understand that the world isn't revolving around them and their own opinions. Having fun and "playing nice" with the whole Nantimi thing definitely ended with one big surprise!! And yeah.. some of the Six Flags announcements are pretty cool. The wooden coaster at SFStl looks awesome!! But 3 identical wild mouse coasters.. mehhh.. I'll wait to see how much 7.5 million buys in a wild mouse!
  23. ^ Yeah.. slightly. I definitely think that the coaster makes great use of the land that is has to work with and will pack a huge punch!!
  24. ^^^ I really don't think there is any doubt now! That's CRAZY!
