Hersheypark 2008 - 'Lost meets the Maverick thread'

It looks exactly like the picture we saw before, so it is probably legit. And I do like the colors. -
SFNE's Pandemonium has the same restriction. Must just be a Gerstlaurer spinner thing. On topic, this should be good for the park. Gerstlaurer spinners are great rides that are thrilling enough for teens and adults, and not too scary for kids. I have seen teenagers get of Pandemonium saying it was worth a 90+ minute wait, and I also see lots of families and kids on it. EDIT: Yes, this is the fourth one. Plus SFNE's Pandemonium is almost identical to this. This ride is becoming like the next Batman: The Ride, except it is a family oriented ride instead of a thrill ride. Not that that is a bad thing.

New Owners for Wild Adventures and Cypress Gardens

With Herschend's reputation and how good their parks look, I think this will be great for Wild Adventures. -

Awesome, one of the pictures is complete! I spy a Speed Monster esque pretzel loop in the bottom right picture. Weren't people saying back when we were talking about the supposed layout sketch that there appeared to be a pretzel loop? -
Butter. This case of TNT was then detonated above Cedar Point, sending butter flying everywhere and covering everything. Seeing an amazing opertunity, a small team of coaster enthusiasts started a grease fire on Mean Streak, using the butter as fuel. The coaster burned to the ground in a matter of seconds, and Cedar Point quickly out an end to the Dog Fart Hypercoaster project, instead building a new wooden coaster built by...

Taiga Park |RCT3| - DOWNLOAD
asr replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The text definatly says "Cougar". The track appears to be some sort of inversion, one side of it appears to have Arrow track, and the other side appears to have Premier track. -

Wow, the park has doubled in size since opening. Also, I see that your made up word "Rogcau" has all the same letters as "Cougar". Getting some inspiration from the Hersheypark 08 hype and Nantimi perhaps? -

I see you haven't giving us a chance to guess the next ride like you did over at the Atari forums. Anyway, the new ride is an Intamin Hypercoaster named Cougar, with a height or drop length of approximatly 230 feet. -
Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
asr replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No. This is just a clever plot to make enough room to put Magnum in at GL, because it is sinking into Lake Erie. To stop the ride from sinking, the lake will be drained and the water used at the waterpark. The hole in the ground where the lake used to be will become the world's largest patch of dirt, that will be cunningly designed to make enthusiasts think it is construction for a new coaster. If we are lucky, the park might see dueling flyers or an AquaTrax in 2009 too! But seriously, it is sad to see any park or coaster close down, but I suppose it was best from a buisness point of view. And now lets play "Where is it Going?" Big Dipper and Raging Wolf Bobs: Bonfire Double Loop: Scrap heap Headspin: Rumors say King's Dominion or Carowinds, and it is probably going somewhere Thunderhawk: Rumors say it is going to MiA, probably not gonna be scrapped Dominator: Rumors say it is going to King's Dominion, and it would be very dumb to scrap it Beaver Land Mine Ride: Who knows, but it has a good chance of survival Villain: I have heard that it is going to Cedar Point, but that was on PointBuzz so... I would say that it has the best chance of survival out of all of their woodies though -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
asr replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That is just Cedar Fair policy after the incident on Magnum. And about the heartline roll being designed for Aquatrax trains... I think it is more plausible for Maverick's current trains to go through the roll than for Aquatrax cars. Maverick's roll was extremly tight, and I think that the longer Aquatrax cars would only worsen whatever problems the roll had. -
Balder was about ten million. I heard that El Toro was 21 million. $21 million for El Toro? The same amount for Tatsu and Maverick? No. Not unless it was built all from endangered Eucalyptus trees. I'm just saying what I heard. Supposedly the cost of the three major coasters installed at Six Flags parks in 2006 came to a total of 57 million. The prices for the other two (Goliath at SFOG and Goliath at La Ronde) are known. I do think that 21 million seems like a steep price for a woodie, but 12 million seems a little low for a coaster of El Toro's size if Balder coat 10 million.
