  1. About 60 feet. 56 feet exactly I believe.
  2. Yeah, that first drop is pretty much the defining moment of the ride I would say. From the animation it looks like the back row will go over the drop so fast, hopefully producing some sweet ejector airtime. EDIT: You know, I just realized that I am getting an odd feeling of Deja Vu from this train design
  3. Nice TR. Very in-depth and big, and nice pictures too.
  4. Mitch's 2006 steel poll results: 1. S:ROS 2. EGF 3. Nemesis 4. Goliath (Walabi) 5. Katun 6. MF 7. Nitro 8. Black Mamba 9. Pyrenees 10. Goliath (SFOG) You must be speaking to the wrong people. I know that Nitro tends to place pretty high in those polls, but I have also heard alot of people say that Goliath at SFOG and Apolo's Chariot are much better then Nitro, and I wasn't a big fan of Nitro myself (I prefer more aggressive coasters with ejector air). Atleast Nitro and Silver Star started out with seatbelts, but due to them not being needed and often coming undone, they were removed. They came out from the side of the seat and attached to lap bar. Why? Goliath is a boring and overrated coaster by most peoples standards. At least the one at SFMM. I rode this thing right after it opened and a year ago. OK first drop then its all down hill completed by a boring helix. It is not that good of a coaster and I am happy this is not a clone of it. Goliath at SFMM is Giovanola, not B&M, and thus is no indication of the qaulity of this coaster. Anyway, this definatly does look like a good coaster, don't get me wrong, but I am worried about how much the trims will affect the airtime on the ride (If they are even on the actual ride itself, not just in the animation) as well as generally the speed it takes the camelbacks. As I said, I prefer ejector air over floater, so this ride is unlikely to be my cup of tea.
  5. I know the ride may be very different then the animation, but I'm really not expecting it to go much faster over the camelbacks actually. The only B&M Hyper I have been on is Nitro though, and from what I have heard it is one of the worst B&M Hypers, so I really don't have much expierence with B&M's Hypercoasters to compare this to.
  6. I have to admit i'm not sold on this ride yet. The first drop looks great, but the speed over the camelbacks isn't fast at all, the new trains are pointless, and look at all those trims! There is a trim brake on 3 out of the 5 airtime hills. The layout is decent though, but I was really expecting something more sprawling.
  7. Grrrrrr... My stupid little brother took a post on another forum too seriously and just went and hit me on the head
  8. I'm pretty sure that the link is broken. I clicked it then entered the code, but I don't see anything even remotly related to Hersheypark or their 2008 attraction
  9. Yes, Vampire at La Ronde, and CW already has an invert (but just an SLC).
  10. The piece of track in picture 2 looks like the start of a curving drop to me. Since it won't be an invert or flyer, and Hypers usually don't have curving drops, I'm thinking it will be the world's tallest and fastest floorless, standing at 175 feet tall and reaching speeds of over 70 MPH. EDIT: I forgot about the mysterious un-lit bars in the animation, so it may be taller than 175 feet.
  11. I just looked at the CW website again, and the animation is back to being Patriot. Also, someone of CWMania claims that B&M track and supports are on site, colored Yellow with an Orange spine and Blue supports, which sounds exactly like Talon's color scheme, so I'm not sure I believe it
  12. http://www1.cedarfair.com/canadaswonderland/ , http://www2.cedarfair.com/canadaswonderland/ , and http://www3.cedarfair.com/canadaswonderland/. I don't have any idea why they even have all of them...
  13. Yeah, I realized that after I posted
  14. No way. They already have a flyer, and building all three like that would run them up to $60 million dollars. Plus, they would get just as many visitors if they just built one ride. It makes much more sense to stretch expansions out over a few years instead of building three world class coasters in one year. Even when Six Flags built multiple coasters in a year, they didn't do something that crazy.
  15. Try setting your computers clock forward to August 27th and then go to the Canada's Wonderland website, and you will see how the animation ends. EDIT: What the?... Set your clocks ahead to past 7:00 AM August 27th, and then go to this URL: http://www2.cedarfair.com/canadaswonderland/ You get a completly different coaster, that appears to be a sit-down looper or floorless of some sort... EDIT AGAIN: Actually, set your clock ahead and go to any of the 3 URLs for the CW website, it seems that they have changed the animation again.
  16. Remember, Six Flags is in 2 billion dollars of debt, so why waste precious time and money to film/photograph a ride?
  17. Although my bets are still on a Hyper, I don't think that we should trust these animations. It seems like Cedar Fair is playing games with us to me... EDIT: Reading posts on CWMania, someone remarked that it looks like Patriot. Compare these two pictures; http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=1206101298&size=o http://www.rcdb.com/ig3244.htm?picture=9 They are identical, the train is even in the same position.
  18. Definatly looks like a B&M Hyper. From the picture, it looks like it will start with an out and back segment, go into an MCBR, perform a Goliath-eqsue helix, then do another out and back segment at a 90 degree angle relative to the first half as the finale.
  19. What about using the GCI wooden coaster plan? The park doesn't have a wooden coaster after Ore Cart closed, and it would fit the feel of the park well and be an excellent ride. Or maybe a Hypercoaster seperate from Windigo? Or how about a Storm Runner-esque ride going off the side of the cliff?
  20. Yes, but they certainly didn't perfect it BEFORE it opened. Just like a certain blue and green series of overgrown Boomerangs I know... You know, I seem to remeber you mentioning that Six Flags just "they built the ride and just started running them". Sounds like TTD to me. Although, in your defence, Xcelerator was, to my knowledge reliable and successfull, where as the Invertigo came before the GIB, and was a maintnence nightmare, aswell as the fact that the Deja Vu's continue to hae problems after being open longer than TTD, whereas TTD is now running somewhat regularly. However, in my expierence, TTD isn't reliable, but I did go to it first thing on a cold morning that was also the day after the park opened. Not exactly optimal conditions. I will stop rambling now...
  21. Ummmm, perfected? TTD? Anyway, I wish Disney would stop focusing on WDW Resort and build a third park in the US (coughnortheastdisneycough)...
  22. No, they need a qaulity coaster, like a TOGO or Vekoma.
  23. Amazing pictures. I never realized that the bay the coaster sits on was so big.
  24. Of course not, but the waterpark is Geauga's main draw.
  25. One theory I heard against Soak City expansion is that Cedar Fair wouldn't want to compete with Geauga Lake's waterpark. And besides that, I'm pretty sure this is construction is nowhere near the waterpark.
