Something new at Canada's Wonderland for 2008
asr replied to jonlocke's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Except B&M is in Switzerland. Thus, this is obviously a Gerstlaurer Maurer-Sohne, or Mack. Infact, it is 4D Waterhypercoaster Aquatraxxx from Mack. The Dippin Dots guy down the street from SFMM told me. -
Right in the footprint of Viper. The seizmic activity also morphed Viper's rails so much that it was actualy smooth. On Jahan's next ride on it, he hated the change because it no longer had "That Good Ole Arrow Feelâ„¢". Everyone else loved the ride, even the TPR member ArrowHater, who while in the MCBR yelled...

I'm guessing either trims for Windigo, since the second half is pretty insane, and Windigo supposedly isn't aging well, and trims would cut down on roughness. The other possibility would be a renovation for Ore Cart, maybe adding a large coaster section (perhaps even a GCI twister) onto it. -

Cool update. That logo is awesome. I almost never see anyone use the bobsled coaster, so its cool that you gave it a chance. I'm not a fan of the over water section though. And Northern Lights? Sounds like a fireworks or laser show. -
I eat pretty much anything I can find, with a can of Sprite or Root Beer if I have some, if not a glass of water. I do particulary like Rice Krispy Treats with Nutella though.

My favorite park is Cedar Point. Best is Magnum XL-200, worst is Mean Streak. My home park is SFNE, best is Superman, worst is Flashback. -

Yeah, lift chain replacement. I believe it is supposed too open up tommorow. Another thing I forgot too mention is that Route 66 (The car ride) was not running. I read a rumor that it is being removed after this season to make way for a coaster, and this, along with the ride not being rethemed to Wiggles World certainly adds full to that rumor.

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

I am betting it is for maintenance, if they were taking it out, they probably would have said something and set date for people too get there last rides. Anyway, aren't they supposed too be getting rid of there suspened water coaster thing? I don't think they would remove two coasters in one season. -
So I had wanted too go Sunday, but my dad insisted too go on a weekday, so we wen't today. I then find out half an hour before leaving that Super was going too be closed. Since my dad took a day off of work too go, we couldn't change plans so late, so we left anyway. With the heat and Superman being down, we expected the park too be dead. The drive was uneventfull until the bridge over the Connecticutt river getting off 91, where there was a huge amount of traffic blocked up and it took us about 15 minutes too get through what should take under a minute. Unfortunatly, it turns out the park is not dead, but atleast it wasn't really crowded either. We headed into Crackaxle Canyon and got two back-to-back rides on Tomahawk, then rode Houdini for the first time. I was really suprised with the effort put into the theming, but it was pretty underwhelming. It was air-conditioned though. After that we headed back down towards the South End and rode Scream! on the way, which was running two towers both in combo mode. We hit Buzzsaw which was fun, and then got on Mind Eraser in the front after a 15 minute wait. I used too really like this ride, but today I just felt it was rough, short, and pointless. However, one kid behind us said something too the effect of "This was actually better than Kong" which amused me We headed over too Batman, where we found a huge line (By Batman's standards atleast). We waited about 30-45 minutes for the front row. Great first half, but the trim brake was on, and the ending sucks. We bought some drinks walking towards Cyclone from there. We sat down on a bench near Flashback too finish them, and then got up. I wanted too ride Blizzard River because it was insanly hot out, but the line was too long. It is a shame the water rides get such long lines. I decided to see if they were using the Pandemonium single rider line, and they were. I ended up on the same side as a pretty big guy (I am pretty big myself) with a kinda skinny guy and girl on the other side. The car was spinning well, and moving like the crazy. I had my hands up, and it was really throwing me around. This ride may be a family ride, but it is actually more intense than Batman. After that we rode Time Warp. They were so slow, as usual, and the line was horrid wit no shade, but a cool ride. How many other Air Jumpers are there anyway? We then decide too do Cyclone, but after drinking an entire frozen lemonade and walking around in the dreadfull heat, I was feeling sick, and it turned out the ride stopped on the lift hill. We waited for a little while too see what happened, and got some more drinks and sat for a while, then decided too leave. I wanted too see about Superman, but figured it would be closed anyway and not too bother. Cyclone was still stuck as we left, but atleast some of the people had been evacuated. Total Ride Count; Tomahawk x 2 Houdini x 1 Scream! x 1 Buzzsaw x 1 Mind Eraser x 1 Batman x 1 Pandemonium x 1 Time Warp x 1

I am torn between B and C. I wanted a woodie, and it would fit the atmosphere, but a terrain hypercoaster at this park would just be too amazing, so I have too go with C. -

You do know that you can have a coaster run two trains with just a block brake in the final brake run, right? -

Ok, just a real quick update because I am going too SFNE tommorow and want too go too bed early, and because I haven't done much work. The park at night. The new gift shop, Log Cabin Gifts. Seating area next too it. Plymouth Fishing Company, the new restaruant. And the current red. Which of these is your favorite? Yellow. First off, I am trying out new X-Rail colors. Here is orange rails and ties. -

Great park. I was hoping for a wooden coaster, but you seem too have slipped up, I can see a Tea Cups ride in one of those screenshots, so I'm thinking a kiddie area (Which is something thee park desperatly needs, it has way too few flats). I'm also thinking that Ore Cart is on the way out soon with the trouble it is having. -

Awesome looking coaster, but could you post an overview or full POV? I don't have NoLimits. -

I have actually never tried doing lights on coasters before, But I might try. Besides, alot of the fun of riding a coaster at night is the darkness and not seinng were you are going. I am sorry, but I don't plan too. It wouldn't really fit the theme, it would look ugly sitting there by itself, and it would remove a major element of the ride, the fact that you can see the ride launch from the exit bridge. I will see how yellow looks next time I play. -

I really don't think that GASM brings riders any closer to the supports on the loops than Boomerangs do. And SOMETHING needs to be done about that ride, or just tear it down and put some nice family rides there or something -

I just saw the rest of the pictures. They look like a massive improvement over Vekoma's trains. If they just put on some padding, I would say that these trains should be put on every Arrow/Vekoma looper. If some of the large ones like SFGAdv's Great American Scream Machine got these, I bet they would be excellent rides -

It is definatly an inversion. It is no less an inversion than say, an inclined loop, or Hydra's inclined dive loop are.
