  1. I've only been to Dorney once, back in 2002 and I'm glad I got a chance to ride Herc. I didn't find it to be rough, and the drop over the pond was kind of fun, but it just kind of meandered around the rest of the course. It wasn't a bad experience, just a mediocre one. For the poster who preferred Hercules to Thunderhawk, has Thunderhawk dropped off that much in the past 10 years? I found it to be pretty fun the last time I was on it...
  2. Looks pretty rad, I think this is the biggest expansion they've had in the park's history. From what I can discern from the descriptions it looks like the north walkway is going to be Scare Zone central with Blood Creek, Carnevil and Abnormal Alley all close together. Also thought it was good to see them utilizing Soak City now as well and I have to imagine the food stand on the wave pool side will be fairly active.
  3. Probably not. There is a 300 ft. height restriction on the park due to the near by public Flying Cloud Airport. It is why the S&S Power Tower at VF is only 275 feet tall instead of 300 like at the other Cedar Fair parks that have the same style drop tower. They could alter the height and put one in I'm sure if they wanted but this park needs other attractions before a swing tower like that in my opinion. But I certainly wouldn't mind the views it would provide over looking the river valley if they did put one in. I agree with you that I doubt a Windseeker is in the park's future, and I was surprised when I saw Worlds announce it for next year. However, as far as the height restriction goes, the park can build higher provided it build in a different section of the property. If you drive to Flying Cloud Airport and look at the runway you'll see that Power Tower aligns pretty much dead on with it.
  4. Off the top of my head, coasters that were open that I skipped out on (not including kiddy coasters) were Head Spin (Geauga Lake) Double Loop (Geauga Lake) Beaver Land Mine Ride (Geauga Lake) Adventure Express (Kings Island) Demon (Six Flags Great America) Iron Wolf (Six Flags Great America)
  5. ^I believe it's a similar arrangement to when he operated it before he sold it to Six Flags no? If so, I'd have to figure that he knows how to figure that into things. Why are some people so keen on dumping on this development?
  6. Checked this place out last week on a work trip to Houston and it's certainly nice, clean and seems to be run pretty well. Iron Shark was a fun quick ride. I'll echo what's been stated here already, to me I think it's tough to justify the ride all day ticket, however if you're in the area to check out the local scene and snag the credit you can get a pier pass for $10 and I think the Iron Shark ride ticket is $6. Is $16 a little steep to snag the credit? Probably, but for what it is it's clean and I have to imagine the pricing probably keeps the crowds from getting crazy as it was still relatively hopping on a Monday night when I went.
  7. ^What wingwright said. Aside from the locals, if you're a family travelling to Disneyland, odds are you're going to spend a couple of days in the area. Knott's is a nice option to have. You go for Disneyland, but you stay for Knott's.
  8. Looks great! I love the feel of the park.
  9. ^Have you been on Leviathon, or are you just bashing it over the brake run length?
  10. Looking forward to checking this ride out later this year!
  11. ^Looks like a nice upgrade over the older ones from the picnic pavilion. I'm still curious what the plan is with the Clubhouse...
  12. Say what you will about the ride seeming somewhat gimmicky, but I don't think Full Throttle will be on the cheap side of things.
  13. ^Not sure what getting Cedar Point open would have to do with announcing a 4D movie title at CGA....
  14. I'm not sure if it's been posted anywhere, they were chilling out in a parking lot by the employee area off of Copeland. For those who haven't seen it, it's a bright green (Think Shockwave's track color.)
  15. Looks like a decent start. I like the view of the Looping Star.
  16. I'd assume you'd probably see more drink options at Stadium Pizza & Grill and on the Cabana menu at the waterpark
  17. Drove by the park the other day on the way to work and saw that they were actively working on ground work in the old Chute Out and Flashback site (a variety of construction equipment and a construction trailer is parked in the strip mall parking lot adjacent to the Bumper Cars). There was some dirt churned up next to the strip mall parking lot as well, but that could simply be due to moving construction equipment around and the such.
  18. Not sure if this is old news or not, but I drove by Six Flags Over Texas yesterday on the way to work and I noticed that Flashback is sitting in the parking lot next to Copeland St and has been painted bright Green.
  19. Sorry if this is a n00b question, but where did you get the custom pathways and fencing from? Again sorry for the n00b nature of the question. The last time I googled for custom scenery I ended up downloading some that came with a nasty virus...
  20. ^Even though the bulk of your update was in regards to Grizzly (which looks pretty rad btw) I can't help but notice the River Rapids ride which looks awesome. I really like how you tied it into using the creek that runs through the map. However, the part that I'd really like to try to duplicate is the bridge effect on the river rapids ride. How did you pull that off?
  21. I like the idea behind this one as well. Good luck and I look forward to future updates.
  22. It'd be kind of rad to turn the cabin the log flume goes through into a souvenir shop of sorts. Just a thought...
  23. Fantastic Park, I've really enjoyed all the journals you've been posting and dig the story behind it. Keep up the good work!
  24. Very cool looking park thus far, I'm looking forward to how this all shakes out.
