I am going from Minneapolis to Chicago at the end of the summer making a 2 night stop in Wisconsin Dells, I have been looking at the Holiday Inn Express & Hilton Garden Inn...but am very intrigued by the Hotel Rome at Mt. Olympus. For the price it seems ideal, I just want to ensure it's quality. Anyone who has hotel reviews/suggestions for the area or feedback on Hotel Rome it would help me very much as this is the last part of the trip I need to book. While in the Dells I plan to hit Mt. Olympus/Timber Falls/Knuckleheads/& Little Amerricka Thanks!

Wow! Excellent pictures, brought back many childhood memories as I grew up going to Riverside. I miss the Black Widow. I remember waiting hours to ride the Cyclone back in the late 80's. Thanks for sharing -

Excellent pictures Scott, as always thanks for sharing. I recognize a few of these from your book, "The American Rollercoaster". I really love the areal pic of Rye Playland! -

Hey Scott, excellent pictures as always. The Screechin' Eagle seems to have been a fun ride, it's a real shame it hasn't been relocated. I found a video that has some POV shots of the coaster, unfortunately not the entire ride. -

Dude, again great TR! Sky Jump looks real sick, T-Express & Kawasemi look amazing (very jealous). I really hope to see more Mega-Lite coasters pop up, we def need one in the states...Lake Compounce would be nice?? (Hint! Hint!) Wishful thinking -

Nürburgring launched coaster
DaveH80 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with Robb, judging by the animation it appears they won't be using I-Beam track & this should make for a smoother ride & launch then experienced on the 2 Thrust-Air coasters. I'm very hopeful & am already making plans to go and ride it! I can't wait until construction photos begin to surface. -

Hey Scott, great pics as always! I really enjoy seeing nostalgic pictures, especially from the 80's as it brings back lots of childhood memories. I really enjoyed Wildwood through the years, sadly I was too young to ride the Katapult when it was there. This coaster model has always intrigued me, I'm a huge Anton fan & this would have been a nice one to ride. Does anyone know why the one at Mirabilandia was so short lived? They only operated it for a year I believe. -
Thanks Larry I really appriciate the link. After viewing the photo TR it does seem like a very nice setting during the holidays despite the coasters not operating.

So every year my Wife & I say we're going to go to Hershey during the holidays, but end up getting so busy we can't seem to find the time. This year again we'd like to try & plan for it, my question is does anyone know if they operate any of the coasters during this time? This would motivate me even more to go. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up, not sure if I want to battle large crowds my first time going. I may need to look back into September. Thanks everyone for the great input, I really appriciate it.

Great TR! Thanks for all of the info, I'm more than likely looking at 5 days in Germany, my goal is to hit 1 (or maybe 2) fairs then Phantasia/Holiday/Europa/Ring Racer...and maybe Tripsdrill. Does this sound impossible or doable? I was innitially planning to stay in Frankfurt, but now it seems that Dusseldorf may be a better choice. I suppose I can always drive to Europa and just stay at one of the resorts there for a night.

If I remember correctly from a previous Photo TR Alpina Bahn comes to Dusseldorf. Is this fair during the summer?
-
Thank you, that is a great link!

So next year I am planning a trip to Germany, my exact plans are still uncertain but one thing that keeps coming to mind is when & where are traveling fairs that include Olympia Looping. I plan to fly either into Frankfurt or Dusseldorf, if anyone knows of Olympia Looping making a stop near either one of these locations next year please let me know. I would very much like to include this credit into my plans if possible, I am assming that Oktoberfest is more than likely the time. Thanks everyone, any input is much appriciated.

Personally I think it's a great idea, Medusa is a great ride and over the past few years it seems to have less than usual ridership...why I don't know, but this will re-invent what was and still is a fun ride. Also being the world's first floorless coaster gives it great history, just think of how many B&M floorless coasters followed behind it

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

Definately very excited about this coaster, what I really enjoy about GCI is how well they re-create the nostalgic woodie look (right down to the Millenium Flyer trains used on most) w/ a modern twist. Old woodies were not always smooth but for a real coaster enthusiest very enjoyable. I'm a very big fan of GCI and what they do & believe El Toro & Intamin pre-fab woodies almost sit in their own category (a VERY good one that is ) -
Thanks for the tip, I will definately keep it in mind for next time.
