I started running 3 years ago. It's very addictive and excellent to keep control over my weight. My favourite runs are when weather is not really run friendly : hot in the summer, rainy in spring and fall or snow in winter. End last year we had a lot of snow out here and on X-mas day 2010 I took my camera with me. My running gear. The technical running clothes are really amazing. Even if it's freezing like hell, 2 thin layers of technical running gear are sufficient. It's not really cheap. I estimate the clothes you see on these pics to have costed about 1000 euro Me fully equipped and ready to run. I'm always running with my Ipod with a Nike+ connection. This makes my Ipod connect to the sensor in my running shoe. 1 km from where I live, there is a huge park. Excellent place to run. I totally love running in the snow. So beautiful It's feels to great to be completely alone at a place like this. Don't I make you think of a themepark ? Amazing When your mouth starts to freeze, you realize you're alive and kicking. Dammit .... other people... On my way back to home. Freakin' beautiful My X-mas run was short but great. Nearly 9 kms After running, I upload my runs to the Nike+ website which has a lot of options including graphs of your run. You can clearly see on this graph the moments I stopped to take pictures. Hope you enjoyed this TR.

Happy Halloween !!! Ok ok, wrong time of the year but I've been tied up quite a bit lately so 2 months after we went to Walibi Belgium for their Halloween event, here is the report. Not Six Flags but Walibi flags. Great coasters ;-( There isn't that much to do at WB to be honest, so we arrived only by 5 pm. Parking lot was quite full. Entrance First halloween decoration. It was the first time WB had fastpasses. The reason for us visiting WB again. Last time I was there was when Vertigo was operating Hooray for R.I.P. passes Mazes and scare zones Another great coaster ... Hey last time I was here there was a coaster named Vertigo there ;-( Burp Random flat ride One of the better coasters at WB. Halloween show. We didn't bother to watch it. All shows I've ever seen at WB were really awful so no doubt this show wasn't much either. Best ride in the park With our R.I.P. passes we were allowed to ride 3 attractions with no wait. And the mazes of course. Halloween lighting Time for a beer at the coffin table. Time for our first maze .... we thought. Much to our surprise the scare zones and 2 of the 4 mazes were already closed !!!! So we moved on the mazes which should still be open. Monster Circus It's a nice maze but the could have done so much more with it. I think we came across 2 or 3 scareactors at the most. It's quite a long maze though. But they really could do a LOT more with it. Second maze : Zoo Terror Zoo Terror is in the Turbine/Sirocco building Maze waiting area The concept of Zoo Terror is quite unique I must say. Some 100 visitors enter the building where there are cages with 'animals' in it. Then hell brakes loose and the animals exit the cages to scare the visitors. Great concept but in stead of animals they should have used real halloween scare actors. Now it was a little bit pathetic to see an actor in a monkeycostume (which they probably used once in a show) try to scare the visitors. To give you a better idea of the concept, see the short video in the next post. Exit of the maze Scare zone Yep. That's right. Closed at 5 pm ;-(( Weerwolf in the dark With our R.I.P. pass we also had access to the area right in front of the stage for the final show. It was awesome..... not !!!! The fireworks was a surprise though.

October 31, 2010, I didn't spend Halloween at the themepark this year. In stead we went to an indoor festival called Sinner's Day. Punk and new wave heroes gather together to relive the late 70s-early 80s. The place to be was right next door to Plopsa Indoor. Sinner's Day Heroes Line up First and only concert we saw at the club stage : Department S The rest of the day we spent in the main stage hall. UK Subs Best concert of the day : Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg Unfortunately it's only 1/4 the original band, the singer is a weird dreadlock goth, but still it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Not only on coasters this is my favorite row. Miss you Joey 90% of the people were wearing black and were dressed like this. Arbeid Adelt, local heroes. Again we were on frontrow. Heaven 17, the only concert that day we didn't see from frontrow. Back on frontrow : Marc Almond (Soft Cell) Me waiting for Nina Hagen One of my 80s heroes. Too bad her gig sucked big time that day. We decided to stick to our place on the frontrow and wait for Echo & the Bunnymen. While waiting the guitar player of the UK Subs came to shake our hands. I've never been a big fan of Echo, but the concert really kicked ass. Sinner's Day 2011, I'll be there.

Hey running mates. Long time since I posted here last. I had a though time the last few months. My father, being ill already for a few years, was in the hospital since September and we knew he wouldn't come home anymore. I visited him at least 4-5 times a week after work and during the weekends to spend as much time as possible with him. I hardly had time to run in between, but still I was running about 20 kms or more per week. I gained some weight again quickly, because of running less but also because of eating too fast in between work and visiting my dad in the evening. My dad died end last month and since beginning this month I'm running more again. At least 30 kms a week, all runs in the snow since it didn't stop snowing out here since beginning this month. I wanna get rid of the extra weight I gained in the last few months asap. This weekend I took a my camera with me while snowrunning in the forest nearby where I live. I'll post the pics soon. In the meanwhile here's a report of 2 months ago when we did a teammarathon in Brussels with colleagues from work. Brussels Ekiden marathon.
-
End of October, together with some 23 colleagues from work, we joined to run the Ekiden Marathon in Brussels. It's a teammarathon. Each team holds 6 runners. The first runner runs 5 kms, the 2nd one 10 kms, the 3rd 5 kms again, the 4th 10 kms, the 5th 5kms and the 6th runner runs 7.2 kms. Together each team runs the marathon distance. 3 weeks after the U2 concert, I was at the same place again. Team (part of) picture. Our CEO gave me a budget to buy a tshirt or windstopper for all our runners. First runners Every runners starts and finished in the Boudewijn Stadium, formerly known as the Heysel Stadium. Some professional impressions 2 of my colleagues in front of the Atomium 4 of my colleagues on the same pic Me. Last year I ran 5 km, this year 10 km. And again me. Another colleague of mine. Picture from the start. About 750 teams joined the race this year. It was a great edition and a very nice afternoon with colleagues. We all got a medal and all of our teams finished within the same 3 minutes at approx 3h50''. Already looking forward to next year's edition.

New B&M launch coaster at Thorpe Park in 2012 ? Source : www.parkworld.be/nl/201012231107/pretparkennieuws/thorpe-park-pakt-uit-in-2012 On the official fanpage website it was reveiled that 2012 will bring a new coaster to Thorpe. Project name : LC2012. According to parkworld.be, it is a public secret that B&M made a 3 coaster/park deal with Merlin. Heidepark and Gardaland will get theirs next year, so it might very well be that Thorpe will get the 3rd B&M. The LC in the project name might stand for Launch Coaster, which might mean the first launched B&M 4D coaster. -
Great pictures. Too bad it didn't snow when you were there ? When we were there 10 years ago or so, we woke up in a white DLP. That was really awesome.
