Thrill Gardens
Twister II replied to Twister II's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
UPDATE After a month or so, I went back to the park again. Many rumors have been spreading around saying a new company may take over the park and try to get it up and running again. But looking at the costs, it almost seems imposable. Here are pic's or updates week by week: WEEK6 Nothing, nothing is left. I think you should look threw other parks to help find my coaster... WEEK5 The last evidenve of the historic coaster. Reports says that another park may have taken the ride with out concent by posing as REPO men... WEEK4 one month, and only the supports are left. WEEK3 For the plane. WEEK2 A local hiker sent in this photo, something strange is going on, why is the chairswing testing? WEEK1 Some work has obvously been going on at the park. -
Elitch Gardens Discussion Thread
Twister II replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I sent an email to Tara Tongco, the manager of Six Flags Elitch Gardens asking about the new attraction in 2006. And if she could give me any information. She responded: I did ask her permission to share this. But dosn't it seem strange that if a park says "New Attraction" next year, wouldn't at least they know what was going to be put in? I don't know, it just seems strange to me. -
Well here is a little bit of back ground on this park, Thrill Gardens, located in foothills of the Rocky Mountains 45minutes NW of Denver, Colorado. Thrill Gardens was the "spot" to be in the late 18th century. Thrill Gardens was famous for its gardens of course. Thrill Gardens featured many attractions for kids, teens, and adults. Including carnival ride of all sorts. Many when death was considered a thrill factor. The park was voted the most popular teen hang-out in 1872 by local news papers. So Thrill Gardens decided, with all the revenue they scraped in, to build a record breaking coaster. Georgia Steel was at the top of her game during this era, and designed the perfect most, thrilling, exciting, intense, and spectacular wooden roller coaster as possible. Building started. Other people started to hear rumors about some things, and going upside down. Other manufactures of coasters became jealous and tried to juice out as much information from Georgia as they possibly could. But Georgia keep her mouth shut, which ended up in her death. Production of the wooden coaster was almost complete, when a terrible accident happened. Georgia's day was done, she was going home. Taking her normal walk threw the structure. A wooden beam fell right on top of her. Crushing her. The coaster was never complete and has been barley standing since 1873 to now 2005. No one knows the layout. No one knows who planned Steels death. So last week, I decided to take my uncles plane out and do a quick Arial view of the park thats been left in ruins. A few days later, I drove up and hoped the fence and snuck into the park. Not wanting to get my new shoes dirty, I stayed on the paths. At the station, the station floor is done also. As the sun sets, I leave. What could be next? Going up the exit path, the only part of the project that was completed. Getting closer to the incomplete coaster, you can see that they queue was also never finished. From the queue, you can see the wooden coaster. Sneeking inside the park. This is in the Grand Caracel's queue. One last look as we fly off. You can still see some of the wood that was never built. Over the park, what is that I see? You can notice most everything from the park has been removed. Coming up to the park

Was there a risk of that? I think naked coaster enthusiasts is probably the last thing anyone wants to see, ever. ......damn.....

When I went to IOA, Dragons walk on, all day. Running 2 trains (1 each side). Hulk was running 1 train when I went, no line. Spiderman, 5 person line. Dr. Doom, walk on, no line at all. Ripsaw Falls, walk on all day. I still think this is amazing. Taken....at....oh....12 -
^Bee stings also! That happens on Boomerang at SFEG too. But the its happened so often, people have just gotten use to it.

http://www.myspace.com/dewactionsportstour Go/watch the Dew Action Sports Tour and you'll see some good shots of SFEG. Mostly because of the BMX was delayed because of wind, and the camera crew had nothing else better to do than to film SFEG! LOL

So I went to bed. I slept. I had a dream. My dream was that I rode Kingda Ka. Weird huh? Well in my dream it was at night and I couldnt even see the front of the train. Sence Ive ridden TTD (in real life) and known what it felt like, KK seemed different. The launch was powerful, so powerful it was hard to hold on to the restraint, and it seemed to just last for a long time. When it came to the top hat it felt like I was just being thrown like a rag doll out of my seat. Then I woke up. Ok, a little weird, but yeah. I just wanted to know is that exactly what KK feels like?

O! Well worst Ride-Ops are Lagoons. I still even remember the ops that were yelling at people and calling them stupid. It was crazy. For guests would have to be, Disney World or IOA. Maybe it was the time of year we went, but just everybody (except cast members) were just plain rude. At IOA the Ride-Ops were, my vote, the friendliest.
