  1. I have park/coaster dreams quite often. One of the recurring ones: I'm a passenger in a car that is approaching SFGadv. Suddenly from above the treetops the skyline appears. I'm surprised and delighted to see that they've compressed the entire coaster line up into one footprint. Every coaster is still there and functioning, they've just moved and/or reprofiled them all into a single, tangled mess of interacting near-misses. El Toro has been moved to the centre of Ka. Nitro weaves in and out of El Toro and the hammerhead turn now "thread's the needle" of Superman's pretzel loop. You get the idea. In my dream I always grab the updated park map and become hopelessly lost trying to navigate my way through the clutter to find the new entrance to El Toro.
  2. Mechanica looks both graceful and positively gut-wrenching in that video. I can't wait to visit Liseberg for the first time this August. Has anyone seen the official Mechanica merch yet? The name and logo are so metal. I'm probably not going to be able to stop myself from buying an entire suitcase full of t-shirts and hoodies when I'm there.
  3. I agree that wasn't my finest moment and I get that you deal with internet dicks all day long but calling me out like that was a bit harsh. I was just taking part in the discussion. Didn't mean any disrespect.
  4. Impressive attention to detail. Looking forward to the complete installation with landscaping in place. I fully expect this to be a stand out among themed coasters.
  5. Selfie sticks are annoying. People complaining about selfie sticks everywhere I turn lately is equally annoying.
  6. Each time I'm about to book my planned August flight to Salt Lake City I think "I just don't want to wait that long" and then I bail. I then spend the next two days trying to figure out how to get myself there in June, only to come to the realisation that with my schedule it's almost impossible to get myself there until August. So then I start over at the beginning, eventually decide I'm too impatient to wait until August and then repeat the entire (hopeless) process again.
  7. "Two Worlds Collide" by Inspiral Carpets
  8. From that angle it looks like a face full of crunchy branches await the first Super Loop riders.
  9. This is the kind of Disney magic that gently enters my subconscious right before I fall asleep with happy thoughts that one day I too may be able to experience it. But unfortunately at 3:56 on a Wednesday afternoon it all just seems pretty bloody unlikely.
  10. ^ Precisely what he said. And as an aside: Ohhh the internet and over examining the absurd minutiae of things.
  11. I too love Animal Kingdom. I can understand why people don't dig it but, after full days at the other parks, AK was a nice change of pace and made for an overall great and chilled out day. And breakfast at Tusker House was by far the single best meal I ate in any of the Orlando parks during my entire 7 day vacation. Sure, I have no desire in any way to see the Avatar movie, but I do nonetheless expect this addition to be sensational and plenty of incentive to go back to the park someday to see it.
  12. A snow covered turret poking out here and there over sunny Springfield is kind of cool, in a Daliesque sort of way.
  13. Aerial shots of Disney World are fascinating. The sheer scale of the territory that is covered by the various parks and resorts never fails to blow my mind.
  14. I'm so ready to book my flight to SLC.
  15. cool article from Roadtrippers about Spreepark: World's creepiest abandoned theme park
  16. ^ I'm not sure that any photo has ever made me salivate more than this photo of flaky eggy goodness is currently making me salivate. LOOKS. SO. GOOD.
  17. Maaaaan, that looks so good. Can't wait. Just cannot wait.
  18. I'm frantically scribbling away here trying to figure out a snappy way to mesh the words "petunia" and "ennui".
  19. Having assigned seating on X2 is outright cruel. I say if you're informed enough about a ride to avoid seats that will shake you within an inch of your life you should be allowed to pick. Leave the death rattle spots for those that don't do their research.
  20. I'll put in a vote for X2. I avidly followed X's announcement, construction and testing. Finally made it to the park in 2008 for the X2 facelift. Maybe it was too much anticipation, perhaps it was a bad day, maybe I'm a weenie. I honestly thought the damn thing was going to break my back before we'd make it back to the station and I'd be carried off in a stretcher. No thank you.
  21. Long and full of vitality, just the way I like 'em.
  22. Yes. Greatest coaster thing ever. Confirmed.
  23. I'm listening to "Fractal Eternal Wheel" by Ozric Tentacles and staring at this awesome water slide.
