1. Yes, especially considering that it doesn't open to the general public until 2020.
2. Or, they could be do the same bait-and-switch that they've done before - remove a ride, yes, but install an identical new ride in its place.
3. Honestly, I'm really not too upset that I missed the two Zyklons. Though, definitely color me disappointed that some of the crazier flat rides like you mentioned weren't operating.
4. Plus it's a bit of a gimmick. Saying that a coaster has a triple launch sounds a lot more impressive than just a launch. In addition, a multi-pass launch allows for a train to reach a higher top speed in a smaller space, like on Gale Force and the Sky Rocket coasters. For coasters that want to run more than one train, a multi-pass launch with a switch track can also naturally extend a ride's duration, reducing the time that riders end up waiting on the final block section, since most launched coasters are pretty short.
5. I didn't find the change confusing at all, in fact, I actually get more value for the same price under the new tiers. I used to only get the two Florida dry parks for my $240 but now I get the water parks too.
6. Not the right place, so I'd appreciate a pm linking to that story. As others above me pointed out, I'm referring to Six Flags' decision to use in-house reproductions (like on New Revolution) as opposed to the Gerstlauer trains currently running on Sooperdooperlooper and Psyke Underground. The Gerstlauer option is the equivalent to Vekoma replacing an Arrow train or one of their old trains with the new "vest-style" design - the closest thing to a new factory replacement. Much like the enthusiast community likes to believe that Cedar Fair no longer wishes to work with Intamin anymore, the blame game of the New Texas Giant incident has made the community also believe that Six Flags no longer wishes to work with Gerstlauer, who made New Texas Giant's trains. Which side of either argument you're on is completely on you, and only those who are in the know, actually know which is true. They wouldn't be able to use that particular Revolution train on Mind Bender without some operational changes, since it has five cars, and Mind Bender's trains run seven.
7. If I'm not mistaken, these are technically custom trains, right? Is Six Flags still turning a shoulder to Gerstlauer after what happened with New Texas Giant?
8. I think I'll wait until some random weeknight in January to give Rise of the Resistance a spin. It looks absolutely amazing, but I'll use the initial hype (and growing pain) period to score some (hopefully) faster rides on Avatar Flight of Passage for now!
9. ^ When you're done, make sure you click the button again to lock in your rankings.
10. Check at the very bottom of your list. There's a button there that should say "not done yet", tap or click it and you should then be able to rank your coasters, and the button will then turn green and say "done ranking". Basically, that button at the bottom is your lock-in button, it's how your vote is counted. Let us know what happens. These have been fixed, thanks for letting us know!
11. This has been fixed. Thanks for letting us know!
12. From what I understand, it will be two-across seating. Based on that prototype that they built however long ago, you'll board basically sideways, like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and then the cars will rotate into the correct orientation.
13. I really enjoy Mako, but even before Iron Gwazi, I still think that Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has the best coaster lineup in Florida.
14. Suprisingly, I actually thought that there was less virtual reality stuff than previous years. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time in recent memory that the first-time exhibitors were put in their own space. Every other year I've gone (7 non-consecutive years since 2011), they've all been in one corner of the main show floor. I'm actually both excited and concerned that the show continues to grow like that.
15. Not sure, it was a special evening event. For what it's worth it didn't have any downtime for the three hours of the event.
16. I just got back from having done two spins on Hagrid's (one in each seat) and it's pretty spectacular. Not much in the way of airtime but the turns are whippy and aggressive, the theming is really freaking great, and the ride as a whole is just so much exciting fun. Easy top 50.
17. Jack took some better photos of it with less people around: The press unveilings are ironically the worst places to take photos of stuff at the IAAPA Expo because there are always too many people in too small of a space!
18. Perhaps they're re-profiling the last turn to make the "bump" at the end a little bit smoother.
19. It looks pretty cool, though it's just a "standard" design with decals all over it as opposed to the themed fronts of coasters like Taiga, Taron, and Soaring with Dragon. Joey's on the money with this one, especially with S&S, who actually builds full-scale prototypes like coaster companies liked to do in the 80s and 90s. You'll also see new concepts previewed in the brochures and literature that the companies give out, I know Intamin is showing a single-rail like design in their latest one (but only a single image for it). Vekoma did the same for their new Suspended Thrill Coaster design in last year's book. The big train unveilings were pretty much ALL SeaWorld parks. If the press schedule hadn't been somewhat full, they probably would have had an actual press unveiling for the Pantheon train too. SeaWorld is really pushing the coasters hard this year. I think the only other high-profile ride vehicle unveiling that I can immediately recall is the ETF dark ride system for Legoland New York. They continue to remain absolutely legendary and have great business with replacement parts for the vast majority of existing wooden coasters, but there hasn't been a brand-new coaster built with PTC trains on it since 2016. M&V's new coasters all run Timberliners now.
20. I'm curious as to why they're going with a lower-capacity two seats per car as opposed to the four-seat fourth dimension / wing coaster design that they originally debuted the concept with.
21. I've gone ahead and added them! But everyone else, please understand that we're curating the poll for a reason.
22. Your rankings will be in a "locked" state until you go down and click the yellow "Not Done Yet" button to open them back up again. Then, when you're finished, you click the green "Done Ranking" button to lock them in again. You can do this as many times as you wish before the deadline, but be sure to lock them in so they count.
23. That would explain this..... Oh, whoops. That was my fault. That's been fixed.
24. All noted, thanks for speaking out! Volcano was closed way early in the season, so it's removed from the poll. Apocalypse has also been re-named. We've gone ahead and added Panic Coaster Back!? Daaan!! since we also have a similar coaster on the poll in Movie Park Germany's Van Helsing's Factory.
25. It's certainly not unprecedented for the Orlando area, all of the major rides / coasters at the Fun Spot parks are $10 each.
