  1. They are both pretty bad, but August, I would say is the lesser crowded of the two.
  2. That was very Maverick inspired. Great ride though! Very smooth.
  3. 2 hours is long, but it's not that bad considering TTD and MF have been 5-6 hours before. I would wait in it if it were 2 hours, but no more than that.
  4. I hate red rides, because, sure it looks good now, but in 6 or 7 years they will all be pink.
  5. Uhh, Mantis was the one supposed to be named banshee.
  6. Someone asked T&T about the POV. They said that they will be shooting one within the next week or so. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
  7. ^ haux cleared both of those up on the last page. The water jets aren't on, but there are three of them in the lagoon next to the turn after the hill following the launch. There is a water cannon that shoots over the canyon. Nothing's wrong. That's just two ride hosts walking down Snake River Falls' lift. A ride host sits up there. They must have been relieving someone. One's probably the team leader. And a question for those that rode it, how were the headchoppers? Especially the one out of the tunnel.
  8. ^ That's a good idea, but I'm sure it's a lot easier said than done.
  9. ^^ Haux, was it true that there was a 4-5 hour wait?
  10. ^^^ If those trains are damaged pretty good, I wouldn't be surprised if they are out of commission for the rest of the season. If it does reopen, they'll probably just use one train, which would be insanely slow.
  11. ^ Yeah. Taken from Wikipedia: "In 1999, there was an accident on the Thunderbolt when the operators failed to brake the car coming into the station and it collided with the car being loaded. Thirty people were injured in the crash. After the accident the headlights on the cars were removed partially due to the fact that the electrical system did not hold up well to the vibration of the cars."
  12. I wonder what that headchopper coming out of the tunnel is like.
  13. ^ That's pretty funny that there were no stairs. This pic was taken in 2002 and you can clearly see them, I guess they just didn't get around to it yet. Staying on topic, no, I have never experienced a power outage at an amusement park.
  14. Even though this incident was pretty small, I bet it will stay closed for at least a week, maybe more. They have to investigate and find out why it did this, and when they do, who knows what all they'll have to do to fix it, unless it was just human error.
  15. Because half of us don't know what "other" thread you are talking about (at least I don't), the least you could do is provide a link.
  16. It might be closed for a while, good thing I rode it when I went May 17th and 18th.
  17. ^ Yeah that and what happens in the tunnel.
  18. ^ Yeah, and you can barely see Millie. EDIT: Spoke too soon.
  19. I'm not saying you are wrong or anything, but, how do you know this? Or are you just speculating?
  20. According to the guy that rode it, there is dual loading just like TTD (what the two lines are for leading up to the station...I was right ). Two trains load and go out to the pre-launch. When the first one gets past the tunnel, I'm assuming, the second one will launch.
  21. When he said that, I thought that it was something done on purpose to prevent the train coming up the lift from crashing into the train stuck in the launch tunnel, since they probably don't have enough blocks for any trains to be waiting in the launch tunnel for a train in front of them, and waiting on the brake run in the middle of the ride like that would sorta ruin it. I know it was on purpose, that's what I was saying.
  22. ^ In that link you posted, he said that a train got stuck in the launch tunnel, resulting in a lift hill rollback as well. Looks like they have some bugs to work out, or human error to fix, unless it was caused by the rain. I guess they will still run this ride when it's pouring, because apparently they were today.
  23. By the looks of this picture, the ride-ops are moving pretty fast, there is one on the overbank over the tunnel and one on the main hill. But then again, they only have to check 12 seats.
