Parks open 1st week of April NYC-Boston ?

Not that I know of unfortunately. We live in New York and we're driving down to BGW this weekend to ride coasters. That's the closest we could find and it's not close by any means. -

They do have a lot of room, but you can't use a cartoon style park map as a legitimate representation of the property layout. -

Honestly I've never had an issue with Maverick's restraints at all. I'm not sure why so many people complain about them. -
Wow there are some spoiled people in this thread. Great Adventure doesn't need a new coaster. You could argue that they have the best coaster collection of any park in the world. Personally I wouldn't agree but nobody could argue with you if you made that statement. Let's take a step back and remember what we have here... 1) The world's tallest coaster and the fastest coaster in North America. 2) The #1 Wood coaster in the world. 3) A 230 foot hypercoaster 4) A great old school B&M invert that's still incredibly smooth and intense 5) A huge floorless coaster with 7 inversions 6) One of the tallest and fastest standup coasters in the world 7) A B&M flying coaster 8) An indoor family coaster 9) ANOTHER indoor family coaster 10) An outdoor family coaster 11) A kids coaster 12) A mine train coaster But we need another coaster? Personally I love the direction the park has been heading in lately by introducing rides with mass appeal like SORA, Skyscreamer, the Bumper Cars and the Scrambler. This year we're getting the world's tallest drop ride. There's nothing to complain about here... Magic Mountain can have all of the records they want but Great Adventure has much better coasters.

I agree completely about Batman. I actually feel like B&M inverts seem to maintain their smoothness over time better than any other coaster type (except for Schwarzkopf loopers). I've never experienced a rough ride on a B&M invert, and I really haven't even noticed a rattle. Raptor is a little jerky (I still love it though, it's not enough to detract from the ride experience) but I think it always was, it's not due to age or anything it's just how the ride was designed. I'm not sure what dictates smoothness but like you said B&M has built snappy, forceful coasters that are smooth as glass. Batman is a perfect example as are rides like Montu, Afterburn and Kumba. -
This looks absolutely horrible. Luckily thanks to the great RCT community RCT2 is still going strong and has always remained current thanks to the introduction of custom rides and scenery and some really talented players. In the last 6 months we've seen 2 of the best parks ever built released at New Element (Starpointe which was advertised here and Thorpe Park which was released yesterday and already won a Spotlight). Because of the continued success of that game I don't really feel like we need a new RCT.

Out of curiosity why are people convinced this will be forceful? I'm not saying it won't... but do we have any reason to think it will ? It seems like a bold statement given the manufacturer. -
I'm like that too... I definitely like to ride everything and not just the coasters (did I mention that you're going to love Knoebels? lol). That being said, yes... one day at Dorney is enough to ride everything multiple times and still have a very relaxing day. Dorney is always dead, regardless of the day of the week or time of year there won't be lines for anything. The flat rides might have a one cycle wait but every coaster will be a walk on. Great Adventure is only an hour and 30 minutes from Dorney and they have El Toro. This is a much better use of that second day than another day at Dorney would be. PS: I like Allentown but there's nothing to do there. Don't feel like you missed out on any sightseeing if you go to Great Adventure... not that you'll care anyway when you're riding the best wood coaster in the world instead.

2 Days at Dorney? That seems like way too long. Out of curiosity have you been to Great Adventure? I'd be tempted to spend one day at Dorney and one day at Great Adventure... or even 3 hours at Dorney and a day and a half at Great Adventure (unless you absolutely love waterparks in which case 2 days at Dorney might still be too much but it's more understandable. Everything else sounds good to me... especially the fact that you're going to spend a full day at Knoebels. That's going to be the highlight of your trip for sure.

I couldn't agree more. Raptor is my favorite invert with Montu being a close second. The reason for this is because of the relentless intensity. Montu is almost perfect, but after the MCBR the ride just kind of meanders around for awhile until it gets to that awesome corkscrew finale. This is such a minor critique but when you're comparing 2 coasters that are this good, you need to nit pick. Raptor really never lets up. It has a MCBR but I actually think the swooping dive off of that is one of the best parts of the ride and I loved the way this coasters feels a little unrefined and out-of-control which is a feeling you never get with B&M. Raptor isn't quite Kumba, but it's my second favorite B&M. It's important to note however that while I've traveled quite a bit in the U.S. I haven't been out of the country to ride coasters like Nemesis and Katun which are always highly regarded. Edit: Wow, sorry to get so off-topic. lol

You're absolutely right, the layout is very similar minus the helix at the end. The thing that makes Kumba so much better than Bizarro (and I mean SO MUCH better) is that Bizarro takes every element at a normal / slow pace and Kumba absolutely flies through everything. You get ripped down the first drop, through the loop, through the dive loop and through the corkscrews. The zero G roll is so good and so ridiculously fast that I can't even describe it. It's my favorite element on any coaster anywhere. On every element on Kumba you get ripped through at an amazing pace. Unlike modern B&M coasters this thing has great positive and negative forces and it's incredibly disorienting. I thought the same thing about the layout being very similar to Bizarro and I was skeptical of the hype but now that I've ridden Kumba I've been converted. One ride in the back row on the right side of the train (near the exit platform) will make you forget Bizarro even exists.
