  1. ... Sometimes. It depends on the ops (even though on Batman there's an obnoxious paint stripe all the way down the stairs and huge signs specifically saying that there's a front seat line). The ops generally pretend the signs and lines don't exist. With Goliath I'm not willing to take the risk because if they assign you anything but row 1 then it's a horrendous ride and they generally pull from the Flash Pass line first so without a Flash Pass you have basically zero chance of getting that seat.
  2. Wildcat has always been a bit of a piece of crap, unless ridden in the Mean Streak position of course... Front seat, lean forward. It's amazing how often that trick works.
  3. Great report! Glad you managed to snag some front seat rides on Goliath. That's the only seat that's free of head banging... I really wish they'd let you pick your seat but since they don't we never ride it any more.
  4. Pfft that's okay, the next weekend we're going to Tampa for a wedding so I'll be getting my Stanley Falls swag on. I won't be denied my Log Flume rides just because of some trivial bullsh*t like the fact that it's October and water freezes at 32 degrees.
  5. Lol understandable but it was worth asking. I'd never be caught dead riding those other 2 anyway without a bathing suit but I'm still a big White Water Landing fan since I'm a bit of an a**hole and whoever positioned the purple water gun is clearly a bit of an a**hole too so we have way too much fun with that thing. They turn the WWL area into a maze don't they?
  6. Hey so I saw the 39 degree forecast and Ima let you finish but any chance Thunder Creek Mountain will be open Saturday? This is a completely serious question. We're still debating between SFNE and Dorney on Saturday. With low temps and short staffing potentially closing 2 of the best rides at Dorney we might have to bite the bullet and head up to SFNE but I'm looking for any excuse to go to another park instead. Lol
  7. Honestly not too wet. It's a perfect ride for a fall day.
  8. Please, go on. Oh okay if you insist... As always we drove to the park Saturday morning and spent the entire day riding the rides, then got a hotel and checked out the covered bridge festival in the morning before riding a few more rides Sunday afternoon. As always with my trip reports I like to get into the negatives first and then go to the positives so I end things on a positive note. So first, a comprehensive list of all of the negative things we encountered on our 2 day visit to the park... ... okay awesome. So onto the positives. The Rides - If I ever win the lottery I'm buying a ride exactly like Downdraft and putting it in my back yard. I'm pretty sure the secret to unlocking world peace is a few thousand strategically placed Downdrafts throughout the world, this will make everyone way happier and much less hostile. I called Obama to suggest this but he hasn't returned my calls... it's possible I have a wrong number. You probably didn't think I'd open up by talking about Downdraft did you? Well think again... I like to keep everyone on their toes. - While I don't generally enjoy standup coasters I absolutely love the Phoenix. I love how unlike the other standup coasters this one doesn't have one of those uncomfortable bicycle seats. Seriously though... I don't even know why this ride has a seat, you really don't use it all that much thanks to the relentless ejector airtime. This ride is flat out amazing. Everything after the first turnaround is insane. - We had our best rides ever on Flying Turns and Twister this weekend. Both rides were completely out of control. It's almost a shame they're both so overshadowed by Phoenix because Flying Turns is a great little ride and Twister is a world class coaster. Phoenix completely steals it's thunder but in many parks Twister would be the star attraction. It's extreme laterals compliment the Phoenix perfectly. - I think it was great that the wristband now includes everything but the Mansion. I was very happy to see Black Diamond, Flying Turns, Impulse and Skyway included. Don't worry though, we ponied up the tickets for the Mansion on Sunday. I would never pass up an opportunity to get yelled at by some Voodoo animatronic immediately after almost being hit by a semi truck. - The Scooters are so good that they've ruined every other bumper car ride for me. The Food - Knoebels really outdid themselves this year. Usually they don't have ice cream waffle sandwiches available at PPP but because Knoebels loves us and wants us to be happy they did this year along with some apple thing (also with ice cream) that was just so delicious that I'm pretty sure it's illegal in the other 49 states. - Living just an hour from New York City I'm a complete pizza snob. I don't mean to be but I can't help it. Luckily Knoebels has flat out amazing pizza. I don't know how they manage to make pizza so delicious since every pizza place that makes terrible pizza blames it on the fact that they don't have access to NYC water or something stupid like that but it's clearly not bothering Knoebels because this stuff is heavenly. We probably ate the equivalent of 2 entire pies over the course of 2 days. Then we washed it down with Monkey Bread... because Murrica. - Those Pierogies are ridiculous. I have no words. - I know... I know, but this is the first time I ever tried the Birch Beer. This stuff is amazing. The only way it could be better is if it had actual beer in it. I feel the same way about Butterbeer at Universal but Birch Beer is way better. All in all we had an amazing weekend. Knoebels remains my favorite park anywhere, period and every time we go there we love it more and more. This place is an absolute gem. I'll proudly share that title.
  9. Speak no ill of Shenandoah Lumber Company. Shenandoah Lumber Company is love, Shenandoah Lumber Company is life.
  10. I'm praying they never change a single thing on Kumba ever. It's perfect, don't mess with it.
  11. Wait you missed Vortex because you were riding Flight Deck twice? Hopefully you get a chance to go back and ride it, it's easily one of the top 3 rides in the park. Glad you had fun though and welcome to TPR.
  12. To be fair, I don't see many people clamoring for RMC treatment on the Beast either. I've heard one or two people mention it but that's it. I think the ride's overwhelming popularity speaks for itself. It's perfect the way it is. If Cedar Fair wants to go and RMC something I'd start with Minebuster or the Hurler clones (or Mean Streak but that ride really isn't all that bad).
  13. This. I love RMC, they're amazing. That being said the Beast is iconic and the fact that it's old school and a little rough is what makes it so great. The ride is a lot of fun during the day for sure but I agree that's it's not amazing. At night though it becomes the best coaster (wood or steel) I've ever ridden. I305, Millennium Force, Maverick, Skyrush, Fury, Boulder Dash and even El Toro can't touch the Beast at night. It's old school, it has imperfections but that's what makes it so great. The Beast feels like it's alive and there's nothing else like it anywhere. The Beast is in a league of its own.
  14. The guys running the Flyers today are awful too. They're slowing down every single ride even with minimal snapping. It's much better to ride them when it's not PPP and they don't freak out about it so much. Riding them now is a complete waste of money.
  15. Wild Beast is very smooth if you do the Mean Streak trick (lean forward, front row). We enjoyed it.
  16. Great report! I always thought Bat was one of the best coasters in the park... maybe it's just me. Lol
  17. And another believer is born!
  18. There's no need for me to write a full trip report because it'll just turn into me gushing about Knoebels again and making everyone want to puke but hats off to them for pulling off another outstanding PPP! The format changed a little, no break in the middle, just a noon to 10:00 pass with all rides open all day and Skyway, Black Diamond, Flying Turns and Impulse on the pay one price plan (so everything except the Mansion is included) and its a great improvement. It was the busiest I'd ever seen the park but thanks to their stellar operations we never waited longer than 20 minutes for everything (though we did skip Flying Turns, Gasoline Alley and the Haunted Train as they all had huge lines. We'll be back tomorrow for the Covered Bridge Festival and to get a few more rides in including a ride on the Flying Turns. Thanks Knoebels for a great day! Also this is random but we have no idea what was up with Twister tonight. It's always an awesome coaster but tonight it was on a completely different level. It was just running completely insane. The Phoenix was also running in world class form but that's to be expected. Impulse was a lot of fun too but it's not even close to being on the level of Phoenix and Twister. Speaking of which I'll leave this here... The line tonight for the brand new, state of the art steel looping coaster. The line for the classic wood coaster that's pushing 70 years old spilling out the entrance. I'm not bashing Impulse, but it's pretty amazing to see everyone (not just enthusiasts) flocking to Phoenix the way they do over a brand new steel coaster.
  19. Random but there's a great image on the webcam this morning... It's the calm before the storm as this is almost guaranteed to be the busiest day of the year.
  20. And the blood and body parts, what with people jumping the fence and all. Too soon?
  21. If you think it's overrated then that's your opinion, I don't even necessarily disagree though I still love the ride... but saying it's the "worst Intamin you've ridden" just strikes me as trying to stir the pot. If you really believe that I'd be curious to know some of the other Intamins you've ridden.
  22. Since the ride is still open during the day during Haunt season it doesn't really bother me that it's closed at night. I wish Flight of Fear didn't close though as its one of the best rides in the park.
  23. If you buy a 2016 platinum pass now you get one visit in 2015 free. Didn't you want to go to KD next year? If I were you I'd price it out. As far as day tickets though I'm useless in that department, sorry. Lol
