  1. Yes it is and to be fair I once saw a kid slide under the restraint after it had been locked down and climb out of the train just as it was starting to go. Fortunately the ride op at panel (a very observant former ride op that lives in my house) saw it and immediately e-stopped the ride. True story I swear and yes I just happened to be in line when that went down. Thankfully the kid was fine. While it sucks to have to raise the height limit, there is a safety precedent for it. The good news, however, is that Rookie Racer only has a 36" height limit so the younger kids have that! And it's really a very fun little junior coaster with a two lap cycle.

  2. I have heard the rules have loosen a little for tourist, but i know tattoos and clothing choice, female rights and other types of rights are basically a no go. That knocks out a chunk of the community. Just not sure how busy this place ever will get people will go when it first opens but long term success will be interesting to see. Part of me also thinks that Falcons flight will actually never open.

  3. I am quite intrigued by this news. I have yet to decide if it's going to be a net positive, neutral, or negative thing. I know a lot of people don't like Palace. But aside from Steel Curtain being down for my day at Kennywood and a Karen encounter at Idlewild, I've had positve experiences at their parks. While SDC is the only Herschend park I've visited yet, I can not spend enough time there. Herschend doesn't do High Thrill Halloween events. As soon as they bought Kentucky Kingdom, it got axed a year or two after it began. Will the relevant Legacy Palace park (Kennywood, Adventureland, Lake Compounce) keep their events, or will they switch to the more family friendly events? Herschend has done very little with Wild Adventures since picking it up in 2007. They're really only now touching Kentucky Kingdom. Show of hands: who remembers they had Darien Lake for a minute? How are they going to treat the new parks? I'm a big fan of the Palace Potato Patch fries. I hope they keep those/spread them to Legacy Herschend parks. Also, spread the Cinnamon Bread to Palace. Prior to this news, I would've put money down that Herschend would have acquired Six Flags Frontier City and/or Lost Island. Adventureland recently announced they're converting the onsite Adventureland Inn to employee housing (accompanying campground and restaurant will still be public). Depending on how long this deal was in the works, I wonder which company made that decision; and if it was Palace, will Herschend reverse it?

  4. ^It is real. They tried out the increased surcharge on the festival booths but reverted to their standard 5% after significant online backlash.

  5. Totally weather dependant. More often than not when I've gone during that week it's dead mainly because it's usually in the 40s or 50s and grey and dreary. If there's a chance of rain at all make sure you keep an eye on socials to make sure they're not closed because they know the park will be dead. There are the occasional days that get sunny and shoot into the 70s and it is usually a mobscene, and with college and high school workers not really available yet a busy day during spring break can really get ugly with lots of rides at minimal capacity and lots of food places closed. I love the dead dreary days but you need to go in with the expectation that they will close a few hours early on those days.

  6. I really appreciate the inclusion of a Clench-O-Meter, Underwear Evacuation Rate, and Soul Exit Probability. This is proper hype.
