Yesterday, I went to The Fair, and just toured around The PNE Barns. These buildings have been around for a long, long time. And they are a great way to introduce kids and city families to country life, etc. Unfortunately, since this was a Tuesday, with gray skies overhead, the crowds weren't there as much as the usual weekends. So I believe a few of the scheduled demos didn't happen, just because of the lack of .... people! Going in the Main Gate of the PNE. David and I will get to this place (i.e. shopping) next week. BC Transit had their info. display open.... ....Including a nice big double decker, although I don't know where this would be running in the system. More sales huts along the walkway. Metro Vancouver's annual display and info. area. "Meet Pee & Poo" .....? Not sure if I want to, lol. Noted. One huge Adirondack PNE chair.... Another huge Adirondack chair. The others are over near The Barns. Then I saw this. "Deep fried Giant Squid"? "Eel"? Um ....no thanks. I'll pass on this. Tuesday's Corn Dog came from Corn Dog King, an annual regular to The Fair. IT was good. The batter was light and a bit sweet. The hot dog itself was fine, and cooked thru. And I hit The Barns. There were a number of tractors on display, here. Kind of vacant, it was. Not busy with crowds, as it probably is during the weekend. Moo. Not sure what this was about. But it looks like I wasn't going to find out, anyway. Pony rides for the youngsters. A TPR Mascot having a snooze. Two goats and a lama. Well, I hope this is a busy area during the weekends. It was a quick journey, to walk thru this setup. My "Egg Type" is probably Sunny Side Up, lol. Again, not sure if the scheduled showings were still happening. But I didn't stick around to find out. Ooooo, something dangerous! I might try this, next visit. The famous annual Pig Races happen here. And I think that's the piggies on the left, below the red tent, just leaving the gate. What a Chef's Garden might be growing. This is always a nice display to walk thru. Always interesting trivia about bees, honey, and beekeeping. YOU WANT HONEY??? WE GOT HONEY!!! Here's another one of those chairs. After the barns, I looked for this place since the details of it were interesting. I had the Chicken Karaage, which is pronounced 'Kara-gay'. Truth! It already looks messy to me, but I did enjoy it, as this was my first taste of Karaage chicken. Work continues on the soon-to-be Amphitheatre. Opens in 2026. I must remind myself, that the PNE Epress line up is here, near Playland. $2 to ride it, full circle. These are the other two 'extra rides' (of four) to ride. The Tilt-A-Whirl and a biker's ride for kids. I've never seen the Pirate Ship this full during Playland's season. But then again, this IS the PNE. Up and over, ThunderVOLT goes... The line up for it wasn't too bad here. But then this wasn't The Weekend. And Coaster actually had a bigger crowd lined up for it. All of the Games Arcade was open, except for the Quarters Games. Covid-related closure, I guess. One for the road. Got my $1 popcorn, and I was outta there! I revisit tomorrow, later in the day, for some night shots I hope.2 points

At just barely 5'1" I have to launch myself off of wing/suspended and sometimes dive coasters in order to not lose my virginity a second time; I love Velocicoaster but the extra large codpiece, to use a historical term, is not my friend on that one. My difficulties often gets a bit of a chuckle from my son who is about 10 inches taller than me. Hope it doesn't get more difficult to execute the older I get though2 points

This was how i felt on my trip to Holiday World. I was on Voyage and as much as i enjoyed the ride I just wish the rest of my family could of rode with me. I just got off as quickly as i could to meet back up with them in the kids place so i could watch my daughter ride the Canoes over and over1 point

I agree that this is a stopgap for one year since they knew everyone was expecting some sort of overall pass and that after next year there will be one pass to rule them all but at an increased price. Although not necessarily more than if you were already paying for passes for both chains. For several years we had SF Diamond Elite VIP memberships and CF platinum passes. For the time being I think we will just add the all park add on to our SF memberships (I mean those are really ridiculously cheap) and we can just pay as we go on food for any CF park visits next year. I still think the SF memberships are on borrowed time so I'll be curious what they come up with for 2026.1 point

I thought it pretty clearly said "admission and parking only" for the all park passport on the site but I was looking at everything closely so maybe it gets missed if you're only briefly looking at it.1 point

It's unreal experiencing parks with your children, isn't it? Going on bullshit rides and reliving their first rides it worth it. Places like Holiday World geared toward families make it all the more satisfying. The few times we've gone to parks without her, we realize just how much we'd rather skip the big rides and have her there. It's still worth a solo trip or two a year, but it's not the same. Michael, you're daughter sounds exactly like ours. She's very interested, but not even close to being ready for roller coasters. She wants to watch videos and she'll pretend she's on roller coasters all the time whenever she's on anything that rolls. When she asks me to drive fast... which I more or less make it feel like I'm driving fast with a few slow down/speed up moments within the speed limit, braking, and wheel jerks, she puts her hands up. She even goes as far as to put her hands up when running down playground ramps, pretending to be on roller coasters. I imagine I'll have to wait about as long as Jon has. I was the same way and terrified until my dad didn't give me a choice and made me ride Ninja at SFSTL. That poor bastard had to ride it seven times that day after that. We've made her aware that there will be trips we'll take without her until she starts riding bigger things. We're not mean about it, but we hope that adds to the incentive.1 point

My guess regarding the meal plans not working across all parks and only tied to legacy parks is be tied into two elements that need to be worked through. The new entity wants to evaluate the two different existing options before moving forward which a standardized plan in 2026. Increasing the overall cost in creating an All Park Food Pass could skew the results. Secondly, current contracts in place with outside vendors will need to be renegotiated and re-evaluated. and management can't make a rash decision right away. I would expect some type of all park food plan in the future, but at an increased cost. Consolidation and consistency are being worked on currently in pricing but additional benefits of the merger from a business standpoint will come into play with the consolidation of food, vendor selection and licensing further down the road. Also for those in the NY Metro area I just did a quick pricing comparison to buy a 2025 All Park Pass from local parks. during the current sale. I usually get a SFGADV pass, but I plan to still travel to SFNE and Great Escape next week. Also looked at Dorney since, if I haven't been on the new coaster yet and if I get the pass there I can have access legacy FUN parks through December. I already have access to Legacy SF parks with my current SFGAdv pass. I looked only at the Gold Pass at each pass and then added the All Park Passport. SFGAdv: $75 + $110 = $185 Great Escape: $59 + 120 = $179 SFNE: $59 + $120 = $179 Dorney Park: $99 + $89 = $188 SF America: $55 + $120 = $175 Since I was already on the SF site I suspect that similar to when FUN acquired the Paramount Parks, the cost will be flattened out will be exactly the same price from every park, although one water/waterpark passes will vary. I'm still interested to see if down the road, regional passes will be made available. i.e. (So Cal Pass: Combo Knotts/Magic Mountain), NYC Metro Pass (SFGAdv/Dorney), DC (SFA/KD), Southeast (Carowinds/SFoG) Missouri Pass (WOF/SFStL) etc...1 point

I remember thinking that Vampire's load/unload station was one of The Best Themed stations, I'd ever seen. And - gotta love that SeaLIfe franchise. I like they had aquariums (and all of them different in some ways) at many of the UK parks. And about that stool ..... yeah, I'm with 'the above' - getting on suspended coasters, etc. is a chore for me now. Then, there's getting off ... hah. Great start of your UK visit, Bert. Looking forward to more.1 point

I attended the special FT92 (Frightfest Edition) that was yesterday afternoon - and some pretty big news came out of it. the Pass Pricing info has already been shared in the Six Flags FUN corporate thread. . but will show here as well. They are going on sale mid August (so soon, and there are two options of passes: Gold & Prestige - which includes one skip the line PER VISIT (tho a funny typo showed up in the slide, and Jeffrey called it out immediately). These are a limited, special introductory price: It was made clear, memberships are NOT going away. . . can be purchased as a straight up pass, or continue as a membership (and you will maintain your current Membership Level going forwards): also part of this special introductory offer coming soon in August: all park add on (CF & Six Flags Legacy Parks) for only +$99 on top of either Gold or Prestige Pass purchased: I asked Jeff Filicko after the presentation, about new purchasers (ie: not Legacy members), and he said the all park add on WILL be available to them as well, but for a higher price (which he did not know). I would guess $149 instead of 99? but just MY guess. . not anything official. as to the rest of the presentation. . . we got an update on DCU: - Cyborg (Nebulaz) is onsite and installed and has begun testing. - They have begun pouring the supports for the Monorail, and pieces of the track & ride vehicles are in the storage area in the Parking Lot. - No mention of Shazam, but that should be an easy install once parts arrive. - They have pretty much completed the conversions on Green Lantern, Poison Ivy, & Batgirl. . but since those are in the middle of the construction zone, not going to open until everything is done) - Supergirl Skyflight (Skyscreamer) makeover is completed and is operating - but they are adding a figure cut out to the sign, so the main sign has been expanded to make space for that. -Superman Krypton Coaster is getting spruced up for it's anniversary next year - with the entrance queue currently demolished and in it's place will be the Daily Planet Store - with entrance (and exit) to the ride, thru this large store - providing some A/C in the queue. That will be done by January. the ride IS operating, with temporary entrance and signs over by Johnny Rockets. - Wonder Woman: back up and running with new trains (tho they were only operating 2 of the 3 yesterday). The new train design / restraint design is such an improvement, and any rattle the ride had is now gone. This thing was FLYING yesterday. had a great ride on it. - Kid Flash: Still down. They have no idea when it will be back up (its been down for months now), but they are trying their best to get it back up and running, and as of now? no plans to remove the ride. Speaking of down rides. Despite how often I say Fiesta is a crown jewel in the Six Flags chain? Yesterday was a very Six Flags day: - Iron Rattler - down for at least several weeks. Something blew on the lift chain and they are awaiting parts. - Gully Washer (rapids) - down, and drained. and per an unnamed source whom I asked about it? the issue is much bigger than a blown pump (which is what took it down for months late last year) So this is down for the foreseeable future. a horrible thing to happen in Texas in August. - Bugs Bunny Rapids (flume): was up and down all day, really only saw it operating for about 40 minutes before it went down again, and never saw it operate again. (see above for Texas in August). When it did briefly open? the line filled the entire queue, and out the entrance. We actually had gotten in that line, but gave up when it was moving so slowly . finding out Gully Washer was down explained why the flume line got so long so fast. - Joker (Giga Pendulum) - down all day, even fun house closed off. No maintenance around it, no work going on with it. . so not sure why this one was down. - Daredevil Dive Flying Machines - was operating, but running in "Wind" mode: ie: the Chassis didn't raise up so the planes are flipping above the flames. I mean at least it's running, but an Air Race is more fun if it's elevated. - and the VIP Lounge is really just a place to sit in the air conditioning now. Nothing VIP about it any longer (I would guess people took big advantage of it, and so they ruined it for everyone else). No snacks (pretzels, chips, cookies, cheese cubes), no coffee, no ice water (unless you ask the bartender). No longer any food options that you can order to enjoy in the lounge either (tho I saw someone had brought in a meal from elsewhere in the park to enjoy there) Also no one watching the entrance to ensure those coming up should be allowed. Just a sign saying "check in at the bar". . but no body did. . .just went in and sat in the A/C. I will admit that it WAS very nice how quiet it was in there on a hot day. . but I can't see this space staying as a lounge when it's so much wasted space, even with just one person to staff it behind the bar. So I suspect this will be going away, or getting revamped next season. ok. . back to the presentation: we saw a list of events coming for next year, mostly returning events (the "Scream Break" was suspiciously missing from the slide - I asked privately about that later, and got the comment "oh, you noticed that?". . and confirmation it's dead. . they'll be focusing on Frightfest going forward). we saw a preview of an new Frightfest show called Haunted Hollywood - the "Thriller" number. It was quite enjoyable, but SFFT always has really good shows. then we got to the good stuff: New Scare Zones will include Dia De Los Muertos in the main plaza (the pics and props they brought out to show us were incredible, but won't post a pic as they really were amazing when the black lights came on and everything glowed. it looked AMAZING. also Rockville will still have the Alien Invasion stuff - but it will be concentrated around the Scream Movie theater facade. the rest of Rockville will get a 1950's/1960's halloween decoration overlay, with paper flags, and cut out of witches/black cats/etc. doesn't sound exciting, but it looked like it's gonna be fantastic, and a great fit for the area of the park. and the big announcement was the Houses. Two are not returning, but the returning houses are: In Spassburg: In Crackaxle: also over in Spassburg: On the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk and in the graveyard behind the Boardwalk will be the Extreme house, Scare Acres again. the houses that have gone: Buried Alive is no more, but replacing it in Crackaxle? Six Flags got some IP Properties!! Annabelle, the Nun, and all the artifacts from that universe and finally, replacing what had always been (in my opinion) the best house: RockKill High. . . over in the Rockville High building in Rockville? it's gonna be a GREAT Frightfest.1 point
