Having experienced all of the touristy things in Copenhagen that were on our list, and with only the TPR welcome dinner on the agenda for this day, we decided to wander around some different areas of the city and also do something beneath us. 05: Down This Toilet We've been to a lot of Ripley's Believe It or Not Museums. Not because they're good, mind you. Call it a guilty pleasure. This was to be our first international one, though. And it also had an attached Hans Christian Andersen "Experience." These places usually mix about half "standard" stuff that can be found at any of their locations and half "original" exhibits that are unique to that location. Or at least I've heard them claim that. This room featured an extremely squeaky floor. On purpose...? I do like this gate that you have to figure out how to open (if you're too stupid to just go around). Spinning tunnel! In 1919, 29-year-old Robert Ripley married actress Beatrice Roberts, who was 14 at the time. Believe it or not! Smisty looking at nothing. (What an attraction!) Whilst Bert and Chuck are deep into actual amusement park updates in their trip reports, I'm still wasting your time with this nonsense. Robert Ripley died in 1949, live on his own television show. Believe it or not! This guy is kind of a big deal 'round these parts. This scene represents Copenhagen, where Hans Christian Andersen lived. And is also the place this is located in. This scene represents some dumb-ass fairy tale in which a young girl suffers while a prince lives a wonderful life. Probably. Most of them are basically that. Smørrebrød are a staple of Danish cuisine. It's usually described as a fancy open-faced sandwich, but that's kind of selling it short. In Summer, the Danes sunbath along the canals. Which is way better than what the Dutch do along their canals. But we didn't come here to look at scantily-clad Scandinavians, we came here for ice cream! This weird bridge is for bicycles. Copenhagen Mall Oh. Oh, no. Copenhagen, please, you can do better than America's most disgusting food-court chain. A Danish board game store. Not in the mall, even though this trip report may make it seem that way. My name is everywhere in this city. Time to meet up with some friends. And nobody got Covid this time! The TPR welcome dinner was at Tivoli Garden's Wagamama, because Elissa. Quite a few members of the group had only recently arrived and choose to explore Tivoli Gardens after dinner, but having already done that, we headed back out into the city. While we're not quite done with Copenhagen, now seems like a good time to mention that I really enjoyed the city and everything it had to offer. I mean, it's no Stockholm, but it's still pretty great. Maybe the real Copenhagen was the friends we made along the way. And maybe, just maybe, we'll actually visit an amusement park in the next update. Whenever that ends up being.3 points

Returned to the park during the vacation, when a rainstorm earlier had meant the park wasn't too busy. Sadly Everland's icon, the magic tree seems to have been completely removed after the fire. A little bit of a shame when it features in the new fireworks show. There'd been a typhoon the previous day so I wasn't too surprised to see this sign. The whole area was roped off even at closing Friday, but T-Express was back up and running the next morning. At least Roling X-Train was open..........yay.... The birth of the twin pandas and the uncertainty of when/if the current baby panda Pubao will have to go to China seems to have driven up interest. Reminded me of trying to see the Mona Lisa. And I ended up seeing the panda mostly by lifting my phone up.... so just like the Mona Lisa. The baby panda not looking so babyish anymore. Unlike the Mona Lisa however, you can live cam the exhibit while standing right next to the exhibit. We waited 10 minutes to get in, but this was the line on the weekend... and this is even before the new pandas go on display. Interest seems to be extremely high. My wife and son both desperately want to go when the baby twins do go on display but I'm assuming, based on the way they displayed Pubao when she was a baby, those reservation tickets will sell out in seconds when they go live. We recreated the viral thing. And finished our time there with panda ice cream. Oh no, my son loves the Summer Night dance parties, but the amount of water is insane. Those tipping buckets in the picture are over the seating areas. A very drenched child... ... Being already wet we hit up the rapids. We hit up the ride 5 minutes before they shut it down, around 8:30 to make sure the ride is emptied out before fireworks, so we waited 5 minutes. Everland has really been putting out a lot of new fireworks shows lately. Instead of the Summer Jukebox (usually themed around musicals or film scores), there was an original production Evertopia The Origin of Everland, this year. In over 12 years of going to Everland, I think this is the first time I've ever seen them run it in the rain. It's always been outright canceled or just the media portion. Usually, since we've only ever seen it run on dry days, everyone has to sit down for the fireworks, so this was my son's first time ever standing up. He is 120cm and has got very spoilt on being able to see from wherever from sitting shows. He moved 3 times in this performance due to new people coming in, standing, and blocking his view or one or two children on shoulders, and has decided he doesn't want to do standing shows again. Unlike previous shows with fireworks throughout, it's mostly a 15-minute cartoon starting the Everland mascots, with only a few fireworks here and there and then a big 4 minute firework finale. Until I can figure out how to upload movies to the forum and embed them without them just turning into download files, here's a copy I put on my Youtube. IMG_7205.MOV1 point

I got back to Playland yesterday, three days before our annual fair, The PNE, starts up. I decided to immediately head over to Coaster and get one - more - ride for "the season." It was a 40 minute wait in line (starting at 12:10), but there was lots of chatter around me to enjoy. And .... by the time I got into my coaster seat (12:50), the queue had tripled in length, and that was before the Real Crowds showed up after 1 pm. This was the last Wednesday for that 2-for-1 entry deal, so I expected Coaster's queue to be totally slammed, by the time I left the park. And .... it was, lol. Here's the photos I took yesterday... A reminder of how old Coaster is. The crew started training with two coaster trains running. But the second train had "special guests" on it. And then there were the bunch of flamingos there. Have no idea why. New banners up, but the photos still show the former trains, with no seat belts on the riders. Did You Know?.... And a special shout out to Mr Leroy, who built Coaster back in 1958. I'm in the loading station, and this is the queue now. I started out in line, under the blue shade canopy, at the left there. The ride was still great, so I'm over ranting about their installing the seat belts. And in the entire season, I got two rides on Coaster. Even water dummies have their On-Ride Photos, too! Noted. Scooby ........ Do? It was a long wait for this ride too, of all things. But it was very crowded that day. And the crew was loading all 16 gondolas, which usually only happens during The Fair. My gondola is almost here! I never get tired of seeing our mountains from the West Coast Wheel, with such clear skies. The Coaster Shot. SkyBender was very busy, too. Very, very busy yesterday. Getting very busy on the new coaster. Hmmm. Is all that pink stuff for the new coaster? Stay tuned .... My lonely little Stella Artois. No Playland food, eaten today. It looks like the Haunted Mansion walk-thru has "added on" to it's property. Looks interesting. Hmmm. Wonder what this will be for? Guess we'll find out, when we visit The Fair on the 31st. Artsy fartsy shot. It's just after 2pm, and this is the 2-for-1 Deal queue. Yep. We'll be there on August 31st. What I brought home. Boo.1 point

Getting caught up, I laugh every time I think about our people trying to go back later in the day to get a 'normal' ride on Tornado only for the ops to put it back to insane mode special for them! Also, all those unsuspecting GP!!! lol!!!1 point

^ I think that this hotel is one of The Best Hotels ever booked on Scandi Tours, Bert, thanks to Robb and Elissa's awesome pre-planning, etc. Great you got to experience it and the short ferry ride across.1 point
