PhishyBrewer Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Yeah... that's what Cedar Point is getting for 2007. Should be pretty cool.
obeygiant Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 OMG that ride looks amazing. It's a launching coaster and a water ride..and the themeing is cool, how can it get better?! Plus the restraints look really good...
Luxo Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I hear the Wisconsin State Fair had like four of 'em. How does the coaster work?? Does it just glide on the water?
coasterguy618 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Thats is sweet, A launching Water Coaster. With a tophat! That is awesome. It would be great if Cedar Point got one of these.
Ed Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 It works like any normal coaster. It never infact leaves the rails. It's LIM Launched out of the station into the circuit. Before the "splash" turn-around there's a couple of magnetic brakes to slow it down. When the train goes round the turn there are sensors that trigger fountains that fire out water to the side as if the car had hit the water. After the turn around the car is braked and it goes inside the big temple thing for a dark section, it's jungle themed with dinosaurs I think. Then the cars go up the lifthill, turn around the pillar, "splash" down again, and then it goes up into the temple, around a bit and comes down into the brakes.
Jumboshrmp Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 So the trains never actually hit the water? Hmm.... Do you get soaked? I like water rides, but I don't like getting wet.
bender01 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Do you know if there is a pov video of these coaster somewhere. I really want to know what is inside.
