shesaidboom Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 My boyfriend [307] and I went to Season Pass Holder's night at PCW yesterday. We were suprised by the kid's area being much more crowded than the rest of the park. Usually, from what I've seen, it's the other way around. We took a bunch of pictures of the park, but not really any of us doing things. I figured I would post them anyway. EDIT: I posted a not so awesome POV of Vortex in the videographer forum. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24828 Wild Beast felt different, like it had all it's wheels replaced or something. It sounded a lot louder. Still a lot of fun though. The area around Vortex is very nice. It looks so much brighter with the new paint job. Vortex got a new paint job. It looks awesome. Shockwave, my favorite flat ride at PCW. They were dispatching trains really fast on Dragon Fire, not so fast on everything else we went on. Dragon Fire also didn't hurt at all, which is a first for me. I think the new-ish signs, and in some cases names, for the rides in this area of the park look weird with all the castle themeing. Cliffhanger is a fun ride when the water is off I always liked the castle themeing. It was cloudy at first, but thankfully it didn't rain like it was supposed to. There are skid mark rings all over the parking lot from where the motorcycles were practicing. The 'new for this year' stunt show is located in the parking lot.
Carnage Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 I was planning on going that night, but ended up having to go to a stag and doe instead. I'll probably make it out to the park tomorow at some point.
shesaidboom Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 A few more.. There were a few new games, like this Trivia one. Psyclone broke down a couple times while we were in line..we saw Sledgehammer break down too. Suprisingly, Mine Buster didn't hurt either. It was much slower though. More re-tracking?
niiicolaaah Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Minebuster didn't hurt????? I'll be up there next weekend. Those flowers by the fountains had better have bloomed by then or I'll be very disgruntled, lol.
shesaidboom Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 ^ I was very surprised about that. It was very slow and boring through the second half of the ride and slowed down even more right before the tunnel near the end. I actually think I liked it better when it hurt Maybe.
307 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 ^ It didn't hurt because we sat at the front of the coaster in a non-wheel seat, so it's a lot less rough. Had we sat at the back, it would've been considerably worse. Which is why I picked that seat You should post the crappy POV of Vortex Vortex looks awesome with the new paintjob, and the picture of Vortex coming down the first drop is my favourite picture either of us has taken of a coaster. I'm pretty sure the purple train on Wild Beast got new wheels, it was zipping along quite nice. The entrance to the fan-turn also got re-tracked, I believe. Ghoster Coaster got some new track as well. And so begins the summer of fun!!!
cfc Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Is PKD the only Paramount park that doesn't have some ride named "Vortex"?
shesaidboom Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 ^^Yeah, but last year even when we sat in the middle of a car near the front of the train it still hurt. At least for me. Last night, no pain at all
niiicolaaah Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Don't worry, Tom, I'll take lots of pictures of the Rat Cages next weekend, just for you.
niiicolaaah Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 ::shudders:: Just looking at that thing gives me a headache, lol.
Shockwave Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 ^Yay! Normally I reserve judgement till I actually ride something, but I can feel the pain just looking at it Nicole, please ride the Rat Cages just once for me!
niiicolaaah Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 ^ Ok. One painful ride of doom, dedicated to Tom! Now you realize this means I will always associate pain and discomfort with you, don't you?
Carnage Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 If you're dedicating that ride to Tom you have to look over and say in a british accent "I'm not looking forward to this" while going up the lift hill.
niiicolaaah Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Riding Rat Cages of Doom = Pain Riding Rat Cages of Doom = For Tom Therefore Tom = Pain
niiicolaaah Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 If you're dedicating that ride to Tom you have to look over and say in a british accent "I'm not looking forward to this" while going up the lift hill. Man, I'm really tired. I just misread that as "If you're deciding to ride Tom..." lol
shesaidboom Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 Great report and pics, long shot....but is this you? Haha, that is me!! I saw your camera and had a feeling you were on TPR but I felt too stupid to ask. Sorry for ruining your picture with my arm I enjoyed your TR too, your pictures were much nicer.
Shockwave Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 If you're dedicating that ride to Tom you have to look over and say in a british accent "I'm not looking forward to this" while going up the lift hill. Man, I'm really tired. I just misread that as "If you're deciding to ride Tom..." lol I'd keep that to yourself! That means you have to ride Shockwave too then.
niiicolaaah Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 The rainbow stick? Geez, you're gonna make me ride all the rides I hate, aren't you??
Shockwave Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 The rainbow stick? Geez, you're gonna make me ride all the rides I hate, aren't you?? Well now that you mention it, you could ride the Boomerang and the SLC a few times! And why do you hate the rainbow stick? Top Scans are awesome!
