stingrock23 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Well, it's been interesting. The Saints got Bush, which is great, I think. He can line up anywhere and contribute. The Saints offense has the potential to be real good, as long as guys can stay healthy. How far will Leinart fall?
mboy81 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Jay Cutler, from Santa Claus, IN, is going to the Broncos. ESPN.com had a really good article on his life growing up in southern Indiana. It even mentions Holiday World! Check it out Here
BelizeIt Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Who the heck is Mario Williams??? Until two days ago, I can't even remember his name being mentioned, and he's the number one pick?! If this guy wasn't in that kind of demand, then why didn't Texas give up the 1st overall pick to the Jets or Greenbay? I imagine that Mario would still have been available for the forth or fifth pick, and this way Texas wouldn't have to "Overpay" him for being the top choice. Reggie Bush must have a bruised ego today!!! He did give a 99.9% guarantee that he would be the top pick!
ParkTrips Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Why the hell did the Steelers not take White? I am pissed.
DejaVu4Life Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Colts got Joseph Addai from LSU. Having seen him play Georgia a few times, He's pretty good. Lendale White seemed more like Edgerrin James as far as how he runs, more so between the tackles, but maybe having a back like him was not what they wanted. And they took a good ol' Georgia Boy in Tim Jennings. They say he's too small, but he made some big plays in 2005 for the Dawgs. On a side note. I can't believe Leonard Pope wasn't taken today. He was supposed to go pretty high.
Slessie Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Looks like the Texans and Cardinals are going to be good this year
Movieguy Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 ^ You're kidding, right? The Texans made a huge error in selecting Mario Williams. Defensive #1 picks almost always turn out to be busts (See: Dan Wilkenson), and the last thing they needed was to piss off David Carr by not giving him the support his offensive unit desperately needs. And the Cardinals?...the Cardinals will always suck...that's just the way it is.
Robbie Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 "Why the hell did the Steelers not take White? I am pissed" Have you seen Santonio Holmes play? blows Lendale White out of the water.

And the Cardinals?...the Cardinals will always suck...that's just the way it is. This may be true, but what a team selects is not always the "Reggie Bush" of the Draft. This was shown in the Colts' picks so far. Their first pick was one of their weak positions (RB), so they got Joseph Adaii out of LSU. Their defense is only average, so their last two picks (4th coming up sometime in the next couple of hours) have been on defense (Tim Jennings CB from UGA, and a OLB from San Diego State). And for the Texans, their thought process mighta been the old saying: Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships
ParkTrips Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Have you seen Santonio Holmes play? blows Lendale White out of the water. Yes he is very good and shouldn't have fallen so far, but the Steelers are a running team and dammit I wanted White. I felt a bigger need in the backfield than for the recievers and it seems like they took the best player out there and not neccessarrily a player to cover a weakness. Just my opinion and I am still happy with their selection and hope it works out well
Movieguy Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 And for the Texans, their thought process mighta been the old saying: Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships That may be true, but winning championships takes years and years to pull off. The Texans need to start selling tickets now, or they're headed off to Los Angeles.

Just my opinion and I am still happy with their selection and hope it works out well Don't forget LenDale tore a calf muscle (or some leg muscle), he may be a real question mark for this year. The Bears desperately needed a TE, did Jerry Angelo draft one???? Of course not, we drafted more defense. The offense was ranked 29th....I can't believe these guys get paid for this...
Robbie Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Yeah I agree, you guys have defense the coaches need to learn that you need offense
CoasterFanatic Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 ^ Hey didn't they just sign an over-paid, over-rated glorified third-string receiver. If I remember correctly, his contract was on the same level as Hines Ward. Suckers!
mcjaco Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 If you're talking about Moose, that was last year....trouble is, we don't have any 1st or 2nd string receivers. That makes him our number one option by default!
CoasterFanatic Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I had a brain fart and was forgetting that this guy ended up going to the Redskins. "Mush" is a pretty good receiver, but he played his best ball two seasons ago. Can't blame a brother for cashing in on the career year. What I can't see is why Pittsburgh refused to give up the draft pick for TJ Duckett and then turn around and draft a side-arm MAC quarterback.
mcjaco Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 That would of solved our return game problems and a receiver problem as well....thus being an intelligent move. We don't do that in Chicago, we like to make things more complicated for our sports teams. Just look up the Cubs.....
