the sound Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Yes!!! We need a theme park in Melbourne!! We should start a petition and send it to Disney or something! YES! SEND A PETITION! But send it to Cedar Fair. That would be good.
Andrew643 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 A Hawaii theme park would be too cool! I vote Hawaii!
V2-dude Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Antarctica! Those penguins are so desperate to ride coasters they keep sliding down the hills on their bellies.
Golfie Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 We could use another one in southern Wisconsin... The Dells are awesome, but only if you're planning to take a 2 hour drive from where I live. If not in southern Wisconsin, maybe in northern Illinois. Six Flags Great America is an easy place to get to - only an hour away. Anyways, a cedar fair park would be AWESOME! Not Disney - I'd rather have roller coasters than mostly dark rides and shows.
dougr Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 ~ ~ ~ VANCOUVER CANADA oh please oh please oh please oh please I beg to the Theme Park Gods!~!~! Been so close a number of times, then.... phffft. Even Disney looked up here once, late 50s - decided 'naw' because of the rainy weather we sometimes have - hah! I agree, we've got two million people around Vancouver with one old-school park, three million people around Seattle with one mediocre park; and two million around Portland with two tiny parks. Hmm, Seattle's less than three hours from either town...and if tiny Spokane/Cour d' Alene can support Silverwood...
coasterdude5 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 **I thought there is already an action plan in developing another themepark in Nashville again. I thought Opryland (or Gaylord, Ent) was close to an announcement. Unless this is just now happening, I think that plan was shot down.

The park is about 400 square meters, BTW.
fmulder21 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Miami/Ft Lauderdale - population of over 5 mill and a huge tourist destination yet we have no amusement park. How many parks are within a 2 hour drive?!
-Zingo- Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Miami/Ft Lauderdale - population of over 5 mill and a huge tourist destination yet we have no amusement park. How many parks are within a 2 hour drive?! zero - Orlando is about 3 1/2 hours away and Tampa is 5 hours away - even farther if your coming from Miami. Another thing to consider when your talking about driving from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area to the Orlando parks is that the turnpike fees are almost $20 each way. Now granted those are serious destinations that alot of people spend alot of money to visit. However when you live down here and you just want to spend a day at an amusement park your looking at dropping $175 - $200. It's kind of a catch-22, we can visit some very nice parks for alot cheaper than most tourists pay to visit there but it's also our only option. We don't have the luxory of of visiting a local park that would make it alot more affordable especially for a family of four.
steel Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 A lot of you are just posting places near you. How about a place with no coasters whatsoever? South Dakota
