coaster_type_of_person Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'm going to be headed to South California for Spring Break. My spring break is earlier than others, so it won't be busy. There are 4 main parks that we are trying to do. SFMM, KBF, DLR, and CADv(california adventure). What should we do first/last? I live in AZ, so we will be driving up to san diego first on Sunday and then to what ever park we are going to on Monday. What are your suggestions?
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 March 19-26! We are leaving on Sunday the 19th, and coming back on Saturday the 25th.
maliboomer Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 So you're staying in San Diego, right? I would go to DL and DCA for the first three weekdays, then Knotts, since it is just north of DLR and do SFMM on the last day, as it's two and half hours away.
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 I though SFMM was only 1hr, 1hr 30min tops!?!
chaos Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Its 1 and a half hours to knotts, disneyland, etc. and Magic Mountain is 2 and a half to 3 hours, depending on the traffic. If that's too far, you could go to the stuff in San Diego. There's Knott's Soak city, Belmont Park, Sea World, and Legoland.
ScOtT k Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Dude, your spring break isn't earlier then others! Most other schools have that week off. Prepare for some crazy lines.
dougr Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 You can buy at any of the parks something called a southern california citypass. It has admission to 3 days DIsney/DCA (parkhopper) + 1 day USH + 1 day Seaworld +1 day San Diego Zoo OR Wild Animal Park. If you buy it onsite, it's $199, but if you have a Costco membership, it's $174.99. On weekends, Sunday tends to have shorter lines-except, apparently for DCA. I guess everyone gets freaked out by the Disneyland lines on Saturday and heads to DCA?
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Yeah I just noticed that there are going to be a lot of other schools going. Ugh. That really sucks for SFMM. Is Knotts bad during that time? Oh, well i guess I'll bring my hopes back up. My grandpa called last night and he got a 3day park hopper for DLR & CAdv. And we are staying for 2nights 3days in the Disneyland Hotel!
maliboomer Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 You're going to DLH? Will you ask at front desk for a stitch hat code for VMK!? God I'm a freak.
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 At the Disneyland Hotel? Sure. Ok on the SFMM website, I saw that the 20 is the first day it will be open on weekdays from now on. So I'm going on Friday. Will it be busy because it will be open on weekdays now, or what? Thanks for any help.
colossus Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 lines will not be that long on friday. just be prepared that some rides might be running one train.so try to hit x,goliath, riddler and batman those are the ones that get long later in the day.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 SFMM is not even 2 hours away. From DL or KBF, wich are both right next to the freeway it will take you 50 minutes w/o traffic. And at worse traffic the longest that it has ever taken me was an our and a half and that included two accidents! You can take, from DL the 5 to the 91 and go KBF. Then hop back on the 91 and take iot to the 605 and take that back to the 5 wich takes you to SFMM. Any way have fun
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Yup, We figured out all the routes to take yesterday. Thanks everyone for your help. I will be leaving in about 30minutes, and then I'll be going to DLR tomorrow! Since I won't have a computer I won't be able to tell you how everything goes. Unless someone wants to text me! [[623-261-0570]] OK nevermind, I'm leaving tomorrow 'cause my grandpa is developing [[diarrhea]]!!! So I will be getting to Disneyland at about 10a.m. tomorrow.
