nannerdw Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I made this ride that is similar to the Moser Energy Rush out of Legos. I have never seen a picture of the real ride at a fair, but I have heard that it exists somewhere. It's basically like BPPB's Bling mixed with a KMG Afterburner. http://www.moserrides.com/energy-themes-electro.htm Watch the video on the site, it's awesome! It works almost like the real thing. The part that spins the seats in one direction was really complicated to make. When the knob at the top is spun back and forth, it moves the long arm. When the arm goes up on one side, a gear at the top winds up. This gear has a mechanism that only lets it spin one direction, so the gear stays still when the arm moves in the opposite direction. That gear is attached to a rubber band pulley system that makes the part with the seats spin around in one direction the whole time. The individual seats also rotate freely so that they can do barrel rolls. This is different from the real ride, in which the seats flip forward and backward. I might post a video later if I can figure out how to upload it. Edit: Video Posted Could somebody please tell me if it works, because I don't have the time to wait for it to load. I'm surprised this thing stays intact. The spinning part is extremely heavy.
rollermonkey Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Dude, that's just crazy. Keep it up! I hope you figure out how to post the video!
Thrasher Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Try hosting it on putfile. Thats how I host all my videos, and its just as easy as hosting pictures.
Imhotep Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 You might also be able to put your video on You Tube. Thats awesome! I wonder how well a Lego Topspin would hold up?
viking86 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 For all of you who loves Lego rides, check out this site www.legorides.webmasterplanet.co.uk His latest rides have been rather dissappointing, but many of his rides are truly amazing!!
nannerdw Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 I have 56k dialup, so it might time out when I upload to Putfile, but I will try it.
DarkStitch626 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Holy crap very good! Funny right now this whole day , I've been working on a K'nex Max-Air. I've been working on a motor system though kinda like my launch coaster motor. You take the externals out of model traine engines , you need fishing lines some electric wire and a spool, you also need a trough the line can run down and a zipper fly thing..
nannerdw Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 I have posted the video. Click here or on link in top post. Let me know if it works.
