MattJackson Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 This is my first attempt at making a RCT3 park from scratch. Please post suggestions and names for both the park and its rides, I don't have much imagination when it comes to names, so most of the time, I leave it at the default. Please post feedback! I did a lot after this, more trees and two other coasters, one a Flying Coaster, and the other, I'll keep to myself until I finish it. There's mountains in the back of the park, I may build a giga coaster through them later on. There's a lot more stuff in the huge area behind the inverted's Cobra Roll. I'll get some pics of the flier a little later on. I was aiming for a dinosaur/forest kinda theme, but I didn't have enough scenery for the dinosaurs, and the forest thing was really bland by its self. Here's the Impulse I was talking about. You can see more of the Inverted coaster in the background. You can get a lot of the layout in this shot. There's a twist after the MCBR, after the hill, but I don't think you can see it. Here's some more of the inverted coaster you saw over the midway. This is a photo of the entrance path the way it was before I constructed the Impulse.
sickskillz14 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Looks good so far, especiallly in that first pic, but i think you should try to vary the trees more, there are too many in that last pic you posted, it looks fake, and also try adding some hills if you want to make the park look better, other than that, the coasters look good and so does the entrance to the park. Keep up the good work.
coasterdude5 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Dude, for a first try, it's AWESOME! You should see my first RCT park! Keep up the work! The more you do, the better you get!!
MattJackson Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 ^^ I wish I'd known that sooner... Anyway, its nothing that can't be fixed. I'm going to do some more tonight, posting pics of the flier, and maybe the one under construction if I finish it tonight. The park is like HUGE, and I have to build a transport ride, or just a coaster made into a transport ride if none ever get invented. just an update. Thanks for the feedback!
MattJackson Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Ok, again, I didn't take any photos of the end result, but I got some within the first 20 minutes of playing. To close this update, a pic of the queue line with so many people (yeah right). The flying coaster I built. This is the pipeline coaster I did. Its a really good job, seeing that its my first try at it. Here's a view of the twist hidden in the trees.
CP_RULES Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 *I am at school right now* That looks pretty cool to me. Nice flyer, and I wish there were more pipeline caosters in peoples park.
Krazykral10 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 *I'm in school right now too!* I would pu tin a pipeline, but I think that they are a little awkward, ugly.
MattJackson Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 ^LOL! I thought the same thing, but then again, all of my coasters look a little screwy! The inverted coaster looks really wierd and has a LOOONG straight section where I actually had to put in a second chain to pull it all the way across! I have a dip and another drop similar to the first, but instead of making a huge drop, it goes into a corkscrew and straight into the brake run. You can see this in the very first picture I posted. I would've added another lift hill, but I think more that one lift hill on a suspended coaster looks just...ugh. I put in a monorail transport to get people to the back of the park quicker, and I'm building a stratocoaster when I play later on. Check back for updates later!
coaster_type_of_person Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I think that the flyer is the best coaster. I like the way it interacts *in parts* with the path's and the people.
phazan Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Nice job Matt. I really like your park so far. That invert looks great!!
MattJackson Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 ^^ Awesome! I like the flier too. I was going to put it in the area between the Inverted coaster's station and the Impulse, but there were already too many trees there and I didn't want to worry about using the garbage tool too much or too little. Besides, I needed to extend the park back, so that's why the flier and the pipeline are where they are. I'll probably fill the empty area with a mouse coaster or something... ^ Thanks dude! I was really shocked by the invert, I didn't have the same space in other scenarios, and I didn't realize what I could do! But after the final twist, the ride gets really boring and too slow to do any more elements worth trying to put in. Sorry guys, no pictures for you tonight! I am too tired to do all the work, I'll get a lot for you tomorrow!
MattJackson Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 Ok, I got a lot more pictures of the development. Here's the pipeline after more development. I lowered the MCBB. In the first picture if this coaster I posted, the train had actually vallied. Its fine now. Here's a picture of the LOOONG boring section of track I hate on the invert, but I can't really do much about it. Here's the rest of the space I have yet to develop. I don't know what I'll put there yet, I'm pretty much open to any suggestions. This is the bobsled I built, and a junior coaster I decided to put in.
MattJackson Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 ^ Yeah, I was actually considering that. I'll try my hand at making it a racing coaster, maybe dueling if I don't get too frustrated. Thanks for the suggestion.
MattJackson Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 Ok, I successfully created a racing Wooden coaster, each side with one inversion. It's supposed to have staggered lift hills, like Lightening Racer, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the trains to completely sync up. Bit its close enough not to change the out come. You really can't tell which side is going to win each time! These are only of the basic layout, the loops are on the other side of the structure, sorry I didn't get any decent views of them.
Fatality Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I love it. But you should try to get a new Graphics Card. It looks to choppy. But I love the park. =P
CP_RULES Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 The graphics are crappy because he has all of the quality on low. You can go into settings to change it. It will look REALLY good if you do, but it will also make it go slower. Also, I really think you need some different colored rides, that green is getting old on so many things.
MattJackson Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 ^ Oh yeah, I'm not really worrying about color right now. I'm just getting rides in and I'll do more with the theming a little later on. As for the graphics card, my card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 card, so its not the best. Its going slow already. If I put it on high, or even extreme, The pics will look good, but it'll take a very long time to get to what it needs to get to. I'll try it for the next update, we'll see in the future.
MattJackson Posted March 4, 2006 Author Posted March 4, 2006 Okay, I made the woodie brown, and I took some high-graphics pictures. They really do look a LOT better! Thanks for checking back! I'll close this update with a picture of the switch-overto each of the trains' respective station. Turnaround after the amazing inversions. Presenting the first ever shot of... THE LOOPS!!! MCBB on the other side of the structure. I think we all know what's coming up next! Different angle. Prelift turnaround. "Cleaned up" shot of the woodie's layout. Close up of my attempted staggered lift hills. The invert's station. Only the Impulse's station Just thought you'd want to see the invert after a graphics adustment A close up of the flier, I've only shown a few zoomed out before. Just a pic of the first drop.
CP_RULES Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Very good. Im so happy you fixed those graphics problems, that just bugs me! Ill be sure to stay tuned in, I want to see more.
MattJackson Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Hi! I didn't realize how fast this board moved! I had to search for my own thread! Sorry it's been so long. I added one more coaster and I changed the woodie a bit. Oh, did anybody noticed that I put a tree in the water in the very first picture I posted? More pictures coming later... My system just upgraded to Adobe Photoshop, so I'm using that to fix the photos now. Night shot This is so you can get an idea of where it is going to be. My new coaster is just a temporary basic-layout strata-coaster. I'm going to put a B&M sitdown there a little later. I changed the end of the woodie so they wouldn't cross over. I thought the crossover looked a little strange.
MattJackson Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 That's how big they are when they get saved in the folder. They fit in this forum by default in terms of pixel width and height, but I have to shrink some to get them within the KB size sometimes. I still need suggestions for names of the park and the rides!!!
