Hattuchili Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Hey Elissa, today I saw again the Discovery Channel documentary with you and Ian on a German Televison Channel (I told you the last time). It was interesting to see it again and see how Ian was screaming. It was amazing, you were very relaxed and Ian was the most time so scared. I liked the background infos about the coasters, like X, Goliath, and Batman. In this documentary you showed all your coaster stuff. Is it true, that you really collect everything about roller coasters? That must be a lot. I saw Robb in the film only a few seconds. Why they dont filmed more of him? Are there still more documentations with you both? --Soeren “liked the screaming face” Schomburg
SharkTums Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I don't have that much stuff...I just piled it all up and even borrowed some of Derek's for that show! The whole premise was they wanted me to find someone who did NOT like coasters the way we do. Hence, Robb couldn't be in the show that much . Ian hated most coasters so it worked out well! There's another show out there with Robb and I riding Ghostrider in the front seat. That's about it I think. Elissa "I taped that show during finals!" Alvey
Token Yankee Guy Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 How the hell am I missing all of these shows that have Robb and Elissa in them!? oh well.
Hattuchili Posted March 19, 2005 Author Posted March 19, 2005 I liked that show, because they showed a lot of cool coaster stuff and some nice rides with you and the screaming Ian. --Soeren
CoasterFanatic Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 ^ I enjoy most of the coaster shows, but really prefer the documentary style ones. Especially the Rick Sebak documentaries (Great Amusement Parks and Kennywood Memories). My biggest problem with the show is that I see a new title and get a little pumped up and then it is the same footage rehashed over and over. If I hear that one guy going "aaaaaaaaaaagh" on Goliath one more time, I am going to scream.
Chris Benvenuto Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Hey the show with Robb and Elissa riding Ghostrider is Top ten Coasters of 2002, it shows a shot of robb being recorded in the 2001 Coaster season VHS. I still have top ten coasters of 2002 on tape as well as Extreme rides 2002. Chris
coasterdude5 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 I just like seeing all the coasters in action and not on my crappy computer. They haven't made any new ones in a while.
Space Freak Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Man, you just gotta love the narrators on those shows. They say stupid things like: "The only thing that has more adrenaline than this is being attacked by a tiger, but then again, this is Gwazi" Stupid, Stupid stuff like that. It kinda makes you wonder how bad the writers failed english!!! "Now, get ready for 3000 feet of spine twisting, hair raising track on this mega floorless loop coaster, built by Bollinger and Mabillard" "Built by world renowned swedish roller coaster designers, Vekoma International, This SLC will leave you with nothing but a complete head ache as it twists you and turns you through 2600 feet of steel track." Of course, on all of these shows, the narrators always have a slightly low voice and try to sound scarry. Man, I wish i wasnt an insomniac. Rob "Cant fall asleep" D Disclamer: All quotes above have been pulled out of my ass. Saying that, the information may not be accurate. Like, who really cares where Vekoma is from????
WillMontu Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Sorry to bring back an old topic, but after digging through my old VHS tapes... Enjoy! I'll post more if I find them. Elissa on More Top Ten Coasters. She narrates Montu. First saw this show in 2001, long before I knew about credits, donkeys, and the stateline. Robb, and Elissa (I assume) on Top Ten Coasters 2002 Robb, Top Ten Coasters 2002
coasterfreak101 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I can never catch these shows, does anyone know when another opne is coming up? Cause I wanna see one That VHS tape can't be THAT old
WillMontu Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I found the one with Elissa and Ian too. I had a tape full of one season of Discovery shows and I didn't know I had this one on here. I can post some screenshots if it's okay with Elissa (I'm sure Robb will be cool about it) Is the purpose of this show to: a. Introduce Ian to coasters b. Tell the GP about coasters c. A glorified excuse to credit whore?
SharkTums Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 No no no! No screenshots necessary! We've all seen elissa way too much already!!!
WillMontu Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I won't post any more pics of you. I'll save everything for the UK trip. But I did have the urge to post this picture. "Robb Alvey's Coaster Season 2001 and 25 minutes of DDR" "More Mouse Tales" - Is that about rodents...or that place with the small castle? "Roller Coasters of America" - I have that book somewhere, although what bugs me was that they couldn't count the inversions on Kumba. As for me, I've got A Kraken "first to ride" tag (I had a Gwazi one too, but it's somewhere on Montu's lift hill) A handful of books, including Robert Coker's (it has Windjammer on the cover, ouch!) and Roller Coaster Lover's Companion by the late Steven Urbanowitz. A handful of on-ride photos (Hulk, Kumba, Oblivion, among others) 2 Knex Rippin' Rocket kits (when I get the time I'll build something from them) RCT cd's (somewhere). I remember getting RCT2 at Target before it was supposed to be relased A ton of T-shirts, including Gwazi and Kraken. Two Oblivion sweatshirts Hours and hours and hours of Discovery Channel footage. Just ignore that blue box in the middle. I can't get rid of it when I have my video capture going.
