Divv3k
Signs for the new ride have started to go up. One is on the Promenade next to Coasters and the other is on the Turtle Chase site. Still no signs of construction. My money's still on a Mack watercoaster. I'm just happy to see something new going in - as long as it's NOT Traumatizer! Here's a couple of pics of the new signs I took on Saturday. Here's the one the Turtle Chase site. Sorry about the blurryness. Here's the sign on the Promenade
niiicolaaah
Blackpool doesn't need any new rollercoasters. It has enough and do you even know many visitors Blackpool gets? http://www.coastergrotto.com/theme-park-attendance.jsp It gets more than Cedar Point, more than Islands of Adventure! I love how PCW gets more visits than Cedar Point. That gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside my heart thingy. And WOW, I didn't realize Blackpool gets so many visitors! I'm very excited to see what this new ride will be. I seriously would give up going to theme parks for a whole year just to be able to go to Blackpool again, that's how much I love that park. jamesdillaman
^Wow, didn't realize it was that good. Maybe that's a good idea, take a year off every park I've already been to, and concentrate on just getting new parks every year. Thanks for the idea, nicole. Actually Julia using James's computer, don't tell him!!! <3 Julz <
niiicolaaah
^Don't get TOO excited. Everybody has different tastes when it comes to parks. I love Blackpool, but that doesn't mean you will!
Ed
On some website a long time ago there was some concept for a Pirate themed Watercoaster by Mack. Seeing as how Blackpool ARE removing the Log Flume and the Turtle Chase has gone it's fairly easy to assume they're using the space there. And a water coaster would be really fresh and new. As much as I LOVE the Log Flume (on a hot day) it's very bumpy and really smacks into the corners hard. I'll be glad to see something new. NOT HAPPY about the Turtle Chase being removed.... Golfie
The "Suspended looping wild mouse" idea reminds me of Arrow's old Arrow-Bat-ic plans. I'm not really sure how an inverted log flume would work, but I have made a drawing of my own concept for a vertical log flume. It could probably work the same way, except the track might get in the way of the waterfall. All that would do is drown the riders. Andrew "SPLESCH THEM ON THEIR BACKS!" C. Gnome
How is building a world record breaking coaster not the way to go? ITs not the way to go because of all the problems that come with it. TTD, as said by Kinzel, was one of the worst ideas ever. As cool as it is to the GP, its done nothing cause problems for the parks. Now thats just going 120 mph. then you have Kingda Ka, which is also plauged with problems and that only goes 8 mph faster. Now you want to take something that could go well over 80 mph faster then Kingda Ka or TTD? the problems would even be more endless. Maybe in the future as technology continues to improve, or maybe never as you see everything requires electricity and a launch that large would generate a lot of electricity, so that would also add to costs in just running the ride regularily, and then you have your maintance costs which would also be very substantial. It would definately be more cost effective for them if they built a more standard ride and made it the best they possibly could as oppose to the record breaker. Casper
That attendance list seems to be incomplete to say the least. SFMM isn't on there, neither is Alton Towers. Also, Liseberg should be on there with 3.5 million visitors and where's SFGAdv?
