Homer Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 http://game-oldies.com/ Yeah, well, basically this link has a buttload of roms of old games you can play in a Java applet in your browser. This definitely made my Saturday... and has all kinds of games as well. And for all of you theme park nuts, go to NES games and look for "Adventure s in the Magic Kingdom". Sorry, no 8-bit POV's of BTMR . *continues to play Sonic The Hedgehog 2*
Ed Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Shamelessly taken from Mark I LOVE this website. I finally managed to complete the Liom King the other day. Beating Scar was hard
DeadDestroyer Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Just asking. How can this be legal it all? I mean roms are legal as long as you own the actual game but how is it possile to do this on such a large scale? EDIT: Nevermind, they have World of Illusions: Staring Mickey Mouse I dont care if its legal now
DisWiz Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 ^ I had always thought that it's legal since they no longer make these games anymore.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 ^^ I believe by now it would be classified as abandonware, and therefore free and legally distributable.
Angry_Gumball Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Wow...this is cool! It's like using Gametap...for free!
lapseofreason Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 nooo... it doesn't work... all I get is a grey box upon clicking on any of the games -Amanda "Man, I REALLY wanted to play Mario" V.
Angry_Gumball Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Update your java. You'll see something like "Not seeing it? Click here" or something to that effect. Download the update, install, and enjoy!
Teddymonster Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 These games, as well as ROMS for NES and most Genesis and SNES games are legal because their copyrights have elapsed.
waterviper Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Oh man I am hooked!!! Nostalgia at its best!!! Ty for posting this site HOMER!!!
