Meteornotes Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Yeah, I know, this is late, but I needed a new card reader. Anyway, a few weeks back we made our yearly journey out to the middle of nowhere, MD, to get a tree for the holiday season. So here are some photos of hot tree sawing action! And now decorated. Awwwww... Now with lights! Our tree finds an appropriate spot in the house. OK, it gets put in just about the only place in the house that's not full of random stuff... And it's done! Hot lumberjack-style action! This looks like a likely victim... The main reason we go do this: you get a dangerous weapon! The guy down the road said "There are no trees left in Maryland". I think he might have been an idiot...
Luxo Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Argh!! I violence!! Great late (hey that rhymes) TR!
BelizeIt Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 It's great that you take the extra effort to cut down your own Christmas Tree. As opposed to buying it at the local Supermarket or Home Depot. I bet your tree will last a lot longer than others, which dry out fast.
Louise Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Aww, that's a pretty tree! Y'know, I've never heard of anybody over here cutting down their own Christmas tree, do they even grow here? :? Must research for next year! Funny captions too Dave.
Hattuchili Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Nice Photo TR, Dave! You cut down your own tree for christmas, that is so cool! We have a lot of trees here is Germany, but I think the most people buy a tree at a store, before Xmas! --Sören
Erik Johnson Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Aww, that's a pretty tree! Yeah there are quite a few Christmas tree farms (at least in Gainesville there are) that you can go and cut down a tree. Though we have one of those fake trees that you can set up in about 10 minutes (lights come attached). Thanks for the pictures Dave.
Shockwave Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Haha, I feel like singing the Lumberjack song! We never seem to get to cut our own trees over here, they're all pre-hacksawed and tied up.
Bubba Z Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I remember one year someone cut down our 5ft Douglass fir right from our side yard
Blazen_AZN Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 :o that tree... it looks, so alive! dang. I dont really have an option of going and cutting down a tree if we want one, you have to buy them... judging by your pics i think are are half dead by the time we get them too! but it doesnt matter, in socal everyone is too damn lazy to go cut down theor own trees anyway! (i have a tree that comes in three sections, with lights attached, it takes 2 minutes tops to put up... but were to lazy to even put that up )
