jarmor Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Last sunday I had my first photo shoot ever. Every once and a while I decide to "pamper" myself and do things for myself that you would want someone else to do for you so this time it was taking some professional shots. I figured my chances of going on Oprah and making up some lame story to get her to do it was slim to none so I figured I had to do it myself. I was a little skeptical because the weather was horrible sunday morning but as afternoon approached it got much better. I was to do a 2 part shoot where I the first part was going to be down town on the main street. The feel I was going for was a city feel but downhere in columbia SC the city isnt that alive EVER so it was better to get shots w/o getting in anyone's way. I met jason from "I Studio" downtown and after a few chit chats we got things rolling. The first shot I had to do was a walking shot. I was actually walking down the small median on main street but that wasn't so easy. I had to walk slow, look around, and be natural. Now granted it sounded easy but I have never did any thing like that before so I was a little nervous. I had to repeat walking about 6 times to make sure we got a lot of shots. After that I had to stand at the top of the median right at the interesction and just act natural and look around as the cars passed by. That shot wasn't that bad. Then we moved to a side street to get some relax shots. Then the last shot was of me just leaning on a clock while the camera man was taking pictures from across the intersection. Once we got finish downtown we went back to the studio. I am not a big fan of studio shots (thats why I opted to take them outside) but these were pretty cool. He had the music pumping in the background and I was just taking all sorts of shots. Shots sitting, standing, leaning and acting crazy lol lol lol. I got the pictures back yesterday and I am very impressed with the work. For them to be un airbrushed pics I must say I look quite handsome. I even got a HUGE 20x30 pic of me to admire! The studio was as professional as they get. Everything was my decision and they enhanced my choices by making suggestions. The camera man even took my scarf and walked to show me what he wanted from me lol lol. In a while, once I cut my hair, I will be going back to them because they are prompt, nicest people ever, and they really want your business. Here are some scans of the shots I did at walmart. They didnt come out as good as the regular shots are but they still give a general idea. Oh yeah if you want one of my christmas cards that the studio gave me just let me know! This was one of my in studio shots. I dont like smiling but it still came out kinda good! This was one of my fav shots because it reminded me of a billboard. I can just see it now...me all up high for everyone to gaze at me! This was the easiest shot because all I had to do was just lean there and look around. Jason wanted me to hold a cigarette to give the picture more life but I dont smoke lol lol! This was the shot where I had to stand in the middle of the road at the point of an interesction and do crap. I didnt know what to do and jason was telling me to smile or something and I busted out laughing saying I didnt smile and BAM the camera man got
