This summer I will be headed cross-country with my mom and grandmother to San Francisco, and will spend 2 and a half days there, bfore going to Yosemite and flying home. Both of them don't like amusement parks much, but my mom likes wooden coasters. I am thinking about visiting SCBB, but I am not sure about the feasability of this, as they both want to see the sights in SF. Do you think this is a realistically possible visit? And if so, do you have any tips on SCBB?

It is tottaly possible. You can take PCH a.k.a Pacific Coaster High Way, stop at SCBB. Im pretty sure it hooks up to golden state freeway. I took a road trip down the coast with some buddies over the summer. Hope this points you in the right direction.

I think it's reasonable. Honestly, I've never actually been to SCBB, so I'm not positive, but I don't see why you can't do it. Besides you don't really need 2 and 1/2 days to see San Francisco, but maybe that's just me, because I live nearby so I can go there anytime.

But if you have any questions about Norcal other than SCBB, let me know--I might be able to help more.

It isn't a problem. You only need a 1/2 day for SCBB, and two days is enough to see a lot of San Francisco. I went to San Francisco over the summer for 1 1/2 days and saw a lot of it. PM for me for a tip that you MUST have.

Yah, even with some traffic, SCBB is only like 1.5 hours away from SF. It's a fun little excursion, and you don't need more than 4 hours there. Actually, I've never spent more than 2.5 hours there, but I generally only ride a few rides (Giant Dipper a few times).

2 days is probably enough for SF if you don't mind spending full days out on the town.

I say hit SCBB for about half a day, the night really. Dipper at night's something, but then the bucket's are cold so don't go on those. Hurricane's a fun ride, so is the Double Shot. Gotta ride the Carosel with it's rings and keep one of course. But there's really not much else.

I'd say skip SF and head right to Yosemite! Hike to the top of Yosemite Falls if it's not already closed for winter, Hike to the top of Nevada Falls, Go up to Badger Pass and cross country ski if there's enough snow. Just generally enjoy the valley and relax. Definetly going to be the highlight of your trip.

Well there's the beach....

And I'm pretty sure Carmel and Monterey are nearby (about an hour?) Like I said, I don't know that area too well, so I don't know what's close by. But there's plenty to do if you're willing to drive an hour or more.

And it sounds like you're set on going to SCBB, but there's always Marine World in Vallejo if you change your mind, which has Napa and Vacaville nearby. Of course that would mean wineries (ugh) and outlet shopping, and I might be wrong, but that's probably something you personally don't want to do.

Is there a lot of none-coaster stuff around SCBB? I want to have another reason to go down to that area.

Well if you go about noonish you'll get there around 1 or 2. You'll be able to walk around downtown a bit (not near the boardwalk really), go to the warf (next to the boardwalk), and by that time it'll be night and time to hit the rides at the boardwalk. If you want to freeze you can swim, not really that bad last time I went in January....
