verticalzero Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 This is quite intresting on how the human body can stand rollercoaster G-Forces: http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051127/NEWS01/511270302
Thrillrider15 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Smooth article. I knew some of this stuff, but not all of it. It kind of creeps you out when you read these articles on how easily you can get hurt on a roller coaster. But I don't really listen to that, I listen to the safety of the ride. It's kind of saying "Let the adults handle this". I mean it's you have to trust the amusement (or theme park), to feel safe (at least I think). Well back to the injury part of what I just said, I don't really mind the dangers. Ya know, Robb has ridden hundreds of rides, and I don't think he's ever had an injury before. Has he? :?
Guest Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Well he is nuts! I don't know if that qualifies as injury though. All those Vekoma's could kill a man!  Katie, who knows she is gonna get it back from Robb.
Blazen_AZN Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 did that article just tell me to smack myself in the head??!! oh well, i do what i am told.... interesting article though... but i have to go... i think the phone's ringing. EDIT: strange, when i picked up the phone i got a dial tone, yet i can STILL hear that odd ringing. hmmm....
Real Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Pretty much everything I already knew based on research I have done. Its AWESOME to see someone out ther realizing the truth. Its not in the rides, but in the riders. I have those ASTM guidelines. They are incredibly detailed and provide some amazing depth. Im suprised that Dueling Dragons wasnt mentioned. I can see RnRC hitting just over 5 because of the lack of a smooth lead-in to the half loop. Otherwise, I would have thought that Dueling Dragons : Fire's helix of doom after the second immelman might have been on there for "duration intensity". That helix in the back seat is mighty powerful. That whole "airtime hill - slanted immelman - helix" combo is my favourite for any ride to date.
benzo41190 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I dont mind the dangers. I mean, if I get hurt....I will die on something that I love to do.
Real Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 ^Thats always been my philosphy. What better way to go then while enjoying yourself?
coasterboi Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Well he is nuts! I don't know if that qualifies as injury though. Hehehehehehehe I know i dont know where it was but i read on a board somewhere that if you ride gouderix twice in a row whithout getting off you will suffer from brain damage i dont know though i am not stupid enough to try it out [What me say ]
