Jackdude101 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 A little birdie told me about this brand-new theme park today, which opened only a week ago. From what I gather, it appears to be similar to the Give Kids the World Village in Central Florida, only dinosaur-themed, with disabled kid-friendly attractions throughout. It's in St. George, Utah, which is in the southwestern corner of the state and not far from Las Vegas. If you like to seek out rare ride credits, you can definitely get one from their train ride, but thrill seekers will be disappointed due to the complete absence of roller coasters and other big rides. They do not appear to have an official website, but they do have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Thunder-Junction-All-Abilities-Park-770683186300381/
ytterbiumanalyst Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Awesome! It's great to see more parks like this opening around the country. I like seeing that's it's more like a civic park than an amusement park, as that can be overwhelming at times for the target audience. Looks to be well done!
DBru Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Thank you so much for sharing this. This makes my heart so so happy.
bert425 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 That's great! we have this in San Antonio, that bills itself as "the Worlds First Accessible Family Fun Park" http://www.morganswonderland.com/
thedlr Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Nice! Something to keep in mind since it's only a couple hours from Vegas.
A.J. Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 As a guy who's dedicating his master's thesis to all ages / abilities / etc play space design in theme parks, this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
