SharkTums Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Hey all! Here's a cool picture that Ian from www.ozcoaster.net just sent me! I miss crazy and extreme weather, all we have here is 76 degrees and partly cloudy. Hail to the King Baby!
Blazen_AZN Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 wow, i've lived in socal all my life, i never even think of weather, i guess it would be really boring to someone who lived in someplace where they got more then just rain like twice a year. i remember when it hailed... it was so crazy, noone even cared if we were being pelted by ice! i want it to SNOW
rabid disney Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 ive never seen hail like that before i was concered for my sheep.
chauncey Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I think that's about the only thing I really love about Florida, except for the themeparks. I actually just thought of a few other thousand things I love about Florida while writing that. It's wierd. I always feel like I hate this place, but there's a lot of awesome stuff! Oh, yeah, right, the weather... Extreme weather is wonderful. It may rip your roof off, but it has something to it that is really enjoyable for me, even comforting in a wierd way. I love it. That picture is amazing.
Real Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Yay for temps that arent hot! The hot weather finally snapped here in Ohio. I just cant stand hot weather for longer than like...3 hours. I get annoyed by sweating profusly especially when all Im doing is standing. For some reason the Northwest corner of OH just is some sort of hold for humidity. Im ALL about the Spring and Fall. 2 best times of the year.
tinkerbell Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I would probably die in that weather now-since I've lived in Norcal for 7 years and in the part I live in it only rains in winter and will rarely hail. Where I live it's mostly hot and dry (thankfully not humid) and when the temperature drops to like 60 degrees, that's considered cold. I remember when I briefly lived in Washington it used to rain all the time, so you never really noticed it. Back in 5th grade (here in Norcal) it snowed for like two minutes and everyone got all excited and ran outside...that was pretty funny.
thunder001 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 The bad weather is ment to return on the weekend with more severe storms forcast. This storm hit around the theme parks on the Gold Coast with Dreamworld coping a battering....waiting to hear the news on the storm. Wayne "Not a good time to go for a walk" C
CoasterCrazy Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 That would be awesome! 8) Atlanta doesn't get extreme weather!
Hattuchili Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Wow, looks like the weather we had a few month ago! --Sören
rabid disney Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 it was only here for 10mins then gone and the air temp went really hot outside.
Scaparri Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 We get just about everything here. A tornado ripped through my town a few years ago, I've seen baseball sized hail, snowflakes the size of half dollars, green skies, you name it. I remember when it was 60 degrees on Christmas once (usually in the single digits) and 40 degrees on my birthday (August 4th). This isn't exactly weather, but three years ago, there was even an earthquake. Not an incredibly strong one, but strong enough to shake my house even though the epicenter was 2 hours from here.
thunder001 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 While the storms in Brisbane/Gold Coast can get pretty wild, the worst weather that I have seen was all in the outback of Queensland. I went through major flooding in both 1990 and 1997, and in between those dates there was a 5 year drought and more bush fires than you could poke a stick at. Been through a cyclone up near Cairns when I was a young fella, but the earthquake is something that I can't say I have experienced. More storms coming in at the moment but they are away from the Gold Coast and more towards the western suburbs of Brisbane....expecting to hit in the next couple of hours.
