StealthFan Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 News have come out today of an accident on the Ghost Train at Bottons Pleasure Beach in Skegness involving a 6 year old boy getting trapped underneath a ride car. A six-year-old boy suffered back and stomach injuries after becoming trapped underneath one of the cars on a ghost train at a seaside funfair. The youngster's father and a member of staff went inside the ride at Botton's Pleasure Beach, Skegness, to look for him after he failed to emerge, it has been reported. The boy, who had been on the ride with his sister, was airlifted to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre following the accident which happened shortly after 12pm on Monday. His condition was described as conscious but distressed. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident. James Botton, the managing director of Pleasure Beach Amusements, told the Lincolnshire Echo: "We really do not know how he came to be out of the car." Taken from Sky News Another article by BBC News Given that they are saying they are unsure of how the boy came to get out of the car I can only think he climbed out himself as there is no real restraint in a ghost train car. I hope the boy recovers for the families sake but I can't see this being anything other than the child trying to get out of the car, especially since it seems the ride is already back open. What are your thoughts on this accident? Do you think modifications should be made to ghost train cars to prevent this? Post below with your thoughts!
DoinItForTheFame Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 His condition was described as conscious but distressed. I guess it could be worse...? Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.
Nrthwnd Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Where was his sister when all of this happened? Still in the car? Just curious.
