Rams_Lord
From what I can recall, I don't think a Disneyland Winter Resort has ever been built. If it were to be built, which country do you think Disney will locate it in and which country do you think would suit it best! I'm guessing (if it were to happen) Disney would locate it in the USA, somewhere in Alaska, however the location would be terrible. I'm still guessing somewhere in the USA. If it were to happen I would choose one of the Nordic countries, excluding Denmark (fairly warmer), the location would be great! Also I'm thinking of somewhere like Austria or Switzerland... What are your ideas, discuss!
burningstroller
There is concept art out there for a Disney resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Being from New Hampshire I think that would have been a great idea. A huge tourist population year round. Disney White Mountain Resort

It indeed would have been a great idea but the location is a bit meh. I think it would be better to place a park like this in somewhere like Sweden or Canada. Dalarna would be a great place! Also Yellowknife, Canada. But i don't think anyone would be out in -30C cold daily.
burningstroller
I believe they targeted this area based on the year round activities, beautiful landscape, and proximity to both Montreal, Boston, and New York.
ScreaminNewEngland
That would be awful for NH. The white Mountains already get enough tourists. The roads would be able to handle all that traffic. Canobie's all they need. I think a Disney could do a little better in Maine. Even Canada.
Tropical7
Just off the top of my head: Canada: Somewhere, preferably around the east coast, Quebec, or the north center of Canada, Mantiboa or Ontario, making it either very scenic, or filled with various ski hills. Germany: Alps Switzerland: Alps France: Alps Norway: I know, a bit north, right? Well Norway is now becoming a tad bit more of a destination, with a few new projected parks, Disney could easily make a northern foothold in the market by drawing people to the diverse climate of Norway. Plus, EPCOT has a Norway pavilion, so it has to be an option!
Xmeister
I'm not sure how much to read into this, but according to my aunt who used to work at the resort, Disney was looking into buying Snow Summit in Big Bear, California within the last year. So if that's the case a winter resort is still very much on Disney's mind. I think that there was a good chance that Disney was at least looking at the property as there's been a lot of talk that Big Bear Mountain Resorts no longer wants Snow Summit and that they just want to focus on their other property, Bear Mountain. Whether or not they were seriously considering that property or just looking I have no idea. I could see a Disney winter resort happen, but I imagine they would want to do it in a place that has a more reliable winter season like Colorado as opposed to Southern California. Especially after our worst ski season on record, this season was awful! I ended up having to go through dirt at Mountain High because I was cut off by another skier and was forced into a closed run. A potential Disney resort in the White Mountains has nothing to with an amusment park. It would simply be a Disney Vacation Club timeshare resort like the Disney Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina or the Aulani Disney resort in Hawaii. It would basically just be a Disney-fied 200-300 room hotel. It wouldn't cause any traffic at all and isn't remotely part of the same market as Canobie Lake or any other amusement park. Rams_Lord
Do you really think they will place it in America? Doesn't it have enough parks as it is. I think Canada or Scandinavia would be more ideal, more reliable wintry weather and beautiful scenery. Here are my suggestions: Sweden Ostersund and Borlange Canada As someone mentioned, somewhere to the east nearby Maine and New Hampshire Norway I think any location in Norway would be fine, snow is reliable there and the tourism is growing. Tromso would be a great place but the location of it will put everyone off!
WFChris
It was actually almost going to happen here in California! A great read: http://www.yesterland.com/mineralking.html

Rams_Lord
One word, "Poland!" I'm not quite sure Poland would get any sort of winter resort. The winters would not be reliable and if anything, there are so many other European countries that would come before it in the list.

soldier148
Right next to Blizzard Beach in WDW, so they have an excuse to build a bio-dome. Only kidding. Is it a snowy year round winter resort, or just the most offered in the winter? Up near Harrisonburg there is Massanutten, which is a lot of fun in the summer, but I have yet to stay in the winter.
