There have been some really beautiful logo designs for rides lately. Some of my favorites include Leviathan, Banshee, and Wild Eagle. My question is basically, are these signs designed and created in park, or is there a company that makes these type of signs? I would think that parks design the logos, but they do not make them themselves. Does anyone know more?

I think the design is usually made by a specialised company but closely followed by the park, and then that same company (or another one if it's just a designing firm) handles the manufacturing. At least that's what I think, I'm not an expert in the field.

It depends. I'm sure some are designed in house and manufactured elsewhere. Some might even be completely hired out. I know some parks design and build entirely in house.

I'm sure it depends on the park. I know Lake Compounce does make their own signs for pretty much everything in the park; I've seen their sign show on tours. I imagine some of the big parks where a lot of the rides are licensed, have the signs manufactured for them.

This is probably a weird question, but does anyone know of any manufacturers of signs? I'm just curious.

It's really no different to any other sign you'd see in everyday life. Designed by a graphics designer then printed, produced by a signwriter or fabricated (Often with the help of a CNC machine).

Some bigger parks/operators may have their own inhouse graphics teams that would be able to do signs and logos, others would just contract the work out to a graphics design firm.

In terms of who makes signs, just type 'signs' or 'commercial signage ' into google and the first few results on the right hand column should be local companies that make them. Or look up 'signs' in the yellow pages.

I know for Alton Towers, a lot of the signage and themeing is created inhouse at the design studio around the back of the towers called Studios North. All the recent themeing and signage was created there including the Marmaliser for the Smiler. I also think that the majority of the theme items for CBeebies Land is also being constructed there under the watchful eye of the BBC.
