Nemmy Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Me & a kid named Will are making this download website called Daily Downloader (the layout sucks, but I'm planning on fixing that up last). I'm planning on getting a domain name later on. Anyway, the link is http://www.hostultra.com/~nemmy/index.php. I need staff members! PM or post here if you want to staff. The staff positions are: Reviewer: You will review downloads and they will appear as staff reviews. I need three for each category. Coder: You will help code the site to make it look better. Don't worry, I'm using a header and footer file with the PHP Include tag (luckily), so you only have to edit one file for the layout. I need one person who can really code well. Permission Man: You will email sites asking for permission to use their downloads on our site. I'm not sure if this is required, but I definitely don't want to be sued because I took a file that I didn't have permission to take. (If anyone knows for sure if I need permission or not, please post here.) Forum Mod: I need five of you. You will (obviously) be moderators on the forums (which will come at the end). Well, there you have it. I'm hitting the hay right now, and will start sending out emails to companies and sites for permission to use their files tomorrow.
Not For Sale Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Yo, Jeff. Stop changing your website every week. You shouldn't devote time to this if you're not going to commit.
jonathan h Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 I get a 404 error aswell right after the massive annoying advert.
Nemmy Posted February 26, 2005 Author Posted February 26, 2005 Yo, Jeff. Stop changing your website every week. You shouldn't devote time to this if you're not going to commit. Yea, I have a problem with that. And the reason people get a 404 error is because the link included the period at the end. The link is: http://www.hostultra.com/~nemmy/index.php
memphish Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 That was hidious on my eyes. That background needs to go. Also, what type of files are you trying to host? If your doing simple pc shareware/freeware, then what are you going to have that makes your site any better than download.com, shareware.com, tucows.com. Just curious as I'm not sure I understand your site's purpose.
