larrygator Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Tony is going to have to keep the dead weight Jeffra and Trish with him in the final 3, forcing others to vote for him.
BCTom Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I love it when the show doesn't proceed in a predictable way. Usually at this point there's several weeks of a dominant alliance picking off everyone else, with the previews trying desperately to make us think things might change. I wonder if the immunity idol with "special powers" will be found and come into play. No one seemed to find a clue at this week's reward. I'm guessing it's like the idols were at first, one that can be played after the votes have been cast.

I'm guessing it's like the idols were at first, one that can be played after the votes have been cast. Wondering the same thing. Spencer had the note saying this was not the idol with special powers so why is he not out looking? Why weren't they all out looking. As far as they know the idol has not been found. Kind of odd there wasn't another clue at the reward.
yankeeman311 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 ^They might've been looking but just didn't show it since Spencer has it. Also I don't think the Yul idol will come into play until after Spencer uses the normal idol.
Nrthwnd Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 ^...the Yul Idol? Following the show, but not sure of this. (I'm old, so sometimes this happenssss..) OOPs Haven't watched the latest episode. So this all may be redundant, ha ha.
gisco Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I just hope Jefra stays Why????? She may last a while because she is no threat. They may want to keep her around because she hasn't done anything. They might want her in the final three.

They may want to keep her around because she hasn't done anything. They might want her in the final three. She is perfect Final 3 material. I don't even think she could get fellow beauty Morgan's vote.
Nrthwnd Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I'm kind of sorry they didn't keep the one they voted off last week? Ya know, the one that was so - uh - memorable.....yeah her! What a sad young woman she was, amazing she lasted this long - which POs us off cause others might have stayed longer....
gisco Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Looks like Tony is going to go deep into the game. They can't blind side him now. It will be interesting if they try. I wonder why the others never looked for either idol. Seems like they just gave up.
yankeeman311 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 ^I don't buy that nobody else looked, I just don't think they showed anyone else since they have a lot of stuff to edit out.
gisco Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I would think Tony is pretty much a lock to make the final three holding two idols. I thought voting Jefra out wasn't the smartest move. She would totally be beatable in the final three. Should have dumped Kass.
larrygator Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 I don't see how he losses now with that secret idol, unless the idols expire prior to the Final Four and the other three that are left wise up in that final vote (unlikely unless it is Kass, Tasha and Spencer). And Tony will knock them out soon enough. Unless Spencer pulls off an ultimate strategic move (but Tony will get rid of him first). What they never mention on the show is that the longer the last on the show the more money you make, so while the 2nd and 3rd place finishers don't make a million, some are content with whatever the prize money is.
Nrthwnd Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 As far back as I remember, the secret Idols only work up to the (say). four remaining contestants...? And then they're invalid. So - good luck to him that finds it and uses it accordingly...
BCTom Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 What they never mention on the show is that the longer the last on the show the more money you make, so while the 2nd and 3rd place finishers don't make a million, some are content with whatever the prize money is. Yes, I believe it's $100,000 for second place and $85,000 for third place. Not bad for a month's effort. I imagine most people would be pretty thrilled to make the top three or five.
Nrthwnd Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I remember somebody quoted years ago, in it's first dozen shows, first to go got a minimum $5000. Then it goes up dramatically from the jury on to the winner. Don't remember the numbers, but it read pretty right. Go Tony!
glouthan Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Go Tony! I would be shocked if he doesn't win. He has the most power in the game with his alliance and the two idols.
yankeeman311 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 ^I'll honestly be surprised if Tony DOES win. Yes he has idols but he has burned bridges with the jury and other players still in the game. I feel like he's been set up all season for a big downfall. You guys remember what happened to Russell in Samoa? That's what I think is going to happen to Tony. My prediction to win right now is Trish. She has a couple of big moves on her resume such as Cliff and Sarah plus she's the only one that really has relationships with everybody. I like Tony but I think the season would get ruined if he won too.
BCTom Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Tony definitely could be this season's Russell, although I don't think he's as disliked as Russell was. You can play an amazing game and get to the finals, but to win the game you also have to get a majority of jury votes. Like Russell, Tony may be missing this piece. The people who play Survivor are emotional, and juries votes on more than who played the best game.
gisco Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 The one thing you just don't know is what each jury member thinks is the way to play the game. If Spencer makes it to the final they may think he deserves it because he was able to survive being in the minority group. May think Kass deserves it because she made a big move and seems like an honest person. Tony could get the nod because he has been able to flip flop and not get a target on his back. I think it is going to be one of those three that takes it all, probably Tony. Trisha and Woo have done nothing but follow Tony and don't stand a chance. Those are the two I would want to take to the finals.
larrygator Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 ^So right, you never know the criteria each jury member will use. Trish has no chance in hell, Woo is at least a likeable personality. True if the jury views Tony as the new Russell Hantz he is in trouble. After the season ends, I would love to see a show of conversations/outtakes from the Ponderosa. I assume the jury members talk about their frustrations while on the ranch helping to drive sentiment for and against the remaining players.
Divv3k Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 ^ There's a web show showing what goes on at Ponderosa at CBS.com. They're not supposed to discuss the game at Ponderosa but it certainly happens and is shown (in small doses) in the show. It doesn't always show you who they like but you can get a flavour for who they don't like at least. But this season all comes down to how the jury views Tony. I think the fact that he's been able to get his alliance back on board twice after flipping on them means that he might just be able to pull it off. He has to get rid of Spencer next though. If Spencer wins out in immunities he will win. Surely they'll get rid of him the second he loses though.
larrygator Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 ^Thanks Divv, I have watched a few (not many) of the Ponderosa clips at cbs.com in the past, but didn't realize that talking strategy was frowned upon, I figured they just edited it out during the season to keep up suspense.
Nrthwnd Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Tony is not Russell. Russell was more nasty and generally unlikeable. Tony, a cop, is still pretty reasonable with conversation and such. And honestly, I like him. He's a game player. Way more than Russell was, lol.
yankeeman311 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Honestly I completely disagree with Trish having no chance. As a hardcore fan of the show, she's actually my pick to win. I think she has a better resume than people give her credit for. She led the charge against Cliff, was the pivotal person in getting Kass to flip, prevented Jefra from flipping in final 8 and is the only one to really maintain social relationships with everybody. I wouldn't count anybody out but Woo needs a big move desperately. Tony I just can't see winning. I feel like he's already lost a few votes in the jury and his edit doesn't favor him since I think he's being set up for a big downfall. Spencer needs to pretty much win out but if he gets to the end, he most likely wins. As for Kass, I don't like her odds with everybody she's pissed off.
larrygator Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Kass is a lawyer and knows how to work a jury. Her Chaos Kass story could potentially sway the jury. If Trish tries to play up getting rid of Cliff as her power move to the jury, Tony will rip that apart and convincingly.
