^ You just reminded me to skip through those HHN vids. I just want a hint of what to expect next week and even though it's Orlando's vids I can only assume Hollywood's versions will be quite similar. Basically, the AvP highlight reel confirmed that I will end up screaming like a little girl while curled up in the fetal position. Can't wait!

Just wondering, are you guys still sending out these e-mails? Have you just been busy over the past couple weeks, or have you discontinued the Monday Fun e-mails?

I dug up this topic because as I looked over the latest "Monday" email, I realized why I tend to just haphazardly glance at them, if I don't just delete them altogether. I'm not a big fan of pure "text" emails, especially when there are several links included in the body of the email. I tend to instinctively identify emails looking like that as spam and have to consciously remember to not view these specific emails that way. I tend to prefer a cleaner-looking HTML email with links embedded within images (or even a simple "Click here" instead of a full link). I totally get that amount of time / effort that needs to get allocated to these emails would never realistically accommodate for something like that, especially if most of the target audience is perfectly fine with plain text, but I wanted to still bring it up as another perspective.

 

EDIT: I noticed your comment a couple pages back about your opinions on HTML5 emails, Robb, and I totally get it. I tend to be a more visual person, maybe more than I sometimes need to be.

I do read these e-mails, and that's the reason for this post

 

What I realize, though, is that I rarely click the links, because I've already read the reports/news that are featured in them. I do think that they would be helpful to someone who doesn't check the forums that often.

^ Yeah, that's kind of the idea. The majority of our forum members are lurkers and the #1 request we've heard over the years is having some sort of top-line weekly update that just gives people the most important stories to read. So that's kind of the idea behind the emails. It's not really for the active forum members, more for the passive ones.
