Agricola Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 We were standing in a field on the North side of the Atlantis building at Kennedy. The launch was 5 miles away so the Atlas was very small, in fact the rocket itself could hardly be seen, but the flame was clearly visible and the noise was pretty impressive.
805Andrew Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Cool pics and video of the launch and event. I also liked the comparisons you used. I need to get down to Vanderberg Air Force Base for a launch some day which is the closest place to me that does rocket launches which is just over an hour away from me.
619fan Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Amazing pics and video!!! I never had the chance to see something like this. I've been to Kennedy Space Center last year in november and even without seeing a launch it was so impressive!!!!
matteocrepaldi Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Being a Space Engineer, I REALLY wanted to see a launch live while I was in Orlando but I missed it for a minute or two! I spent a lot of money to get to a good viewing area but I got there too late!
gerstlaueringvar Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Great TR! I learned a lot of things and thanks! NASA knows how to really show people how amazing launching a rocket is.
