kailisun98 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 My friend recently visited North Korea during the Mass games and managed to go to a North Korean theme park. Seems pretty ghetto. Has anyone ridden any coasters in any remote countries? If so, tell us about your experiences.
Gnome Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I don't think Iraq would be considered an isolationist country. But there was a proposal to build a theme park in Baghdad a while back. http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2008/04/24/22266/baghdad-to-get-disneyland-style-amusement-park/
simon8899 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 ^^Looking at rcdb photos it looks like the Meisho coasters in the older North Korea park have recently been repainted and trains repaired - looking quite okay actually. Having seen the older pictures I would've refrained from riding but judging by the newer ones I'd do them. Maybe Zamperla had something to do with them as they built the rides for a new park including a Volare and a DiskO.

JJLehto Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Iraq and Syria aren't isolationist...ripe with a few problems sure but quite open to the world. You know someone that actually went to NK and saw the mass games?? That I find pretty damn fascinating! Edit: Ah guess it's a bit easier for you, only Americans I know who saw it (outside political leaders) had to be snuck in.
gisco Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 They don't have to be remote countries to have ghetto parks with ghetto rides. China has a few that come to mind and then there was Nara Dreamland in Japan.
robbalvey Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Yeah, I'm not so sure I like this thread. The topic title is misleading and overall it's confusing. Better luck next time...
