^ Tried again and I got it to work! (Yay!)

I did find 2 other problems though...

Problem #1:

I uploaded 5 images with the batch uploader and submitted the post. Everything looked fine. I then clicked “edit,” but in the edit screen the order of the images was messed up. The order was now 5, 4, 3, 1, 2 instead of what it should have been: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Problem #2

When you delete an image, any captions that have not yet been saved also get deleted. It should probably save the current state of things when you delete, so you don’t accidentally lose all your captions.

^ This problem appears to be solved

2 others problems:

1. The batch uploader won't upload .png files. (The standard uploader does)

2. I think there may still be something wrong with the ordering. I uploaded 5 images with the batch uploader (test1.jpg, test2.jpg, test3.jpg, test4.jpg, test5.jpg). If I'm correctly interpreting how this is supposed to work, I think they should display from top to bottom in this order: test1.jpg, test2.jpg, test3.jpg, test4.jpg, test5.jpg. Instead, they displayed in the reverse order: test5.jpg, test4.jpg, test3.jpg, test2.jpg, test1.jpg. NOTE: Even though the images show up reversed on the editing page, the "display order" box was filled in with the correct number still, so when I published it they showed up in the right order.

When I deleted one of the 5 images, the order then corrected itself with the remaining 4 images, and things showed up like they should.

I included some screen shots to show what I'm talking about...

ScreenShot1.thumb.png.bc29def077caee33aeb17265a5e1e9a6.png

After batch uploading the 5 images, this is what showed up. Notice that the "display order" boxes have the correct numbers in them, but the images are shown in the reverse order they should be.

ScreenShot2.thumb.png.304d28da748c0a988fe246d56bfde153.png

After deleting image3.jpg, this is how things looked. This appears to be the correct order, so deleting an image fixed the ordering with the remaining images.

I haven't used the multi-image uploader function yet, but I did come across an error when I did a report yesterday, where the use of the apostrophe ' or quotes " characters in the captions resulted in slash characters being added //////// and they multiplied with every refresh (e.g., preview, save, etc.).

I also want to praise the addition of the feature that enables re-ordering of photos.

I'm having some issues with the uploader. I am currently running Windows 7 with IE9. Version 9.0.8 specifically. When I click browse and try to select multiple files it will only let me pick one. The files are currently .jpeg files, and I have tried a couple different re-naming conventions, but still cannot get the result.

I have opened both the single file uploader window, and the multi-file uploader and in either "browse" window that comes up I can only select one photo at a time. I have tried lasso-ing the files, and also using the "cntrl" and select method. I have also tried file conversion to save them as other types of files .png, .bmp, etc. but none of those methods worked either.

The big issue COULD be that I am on a government computer which has lots of the options for internet explorer turned off (no access to change them). Could there be an option that isn't allowing me to select more than one file?

Something else that was once fixed, but is now broken again...

If I upload three images using the multi-uploader on my desktop, they appear in order:

But if I click "Place All Inline", they appear in reverse order:

My advice to you? Don't use IE!

Haha, advice well taken at home, that unfortunately can't be taken at work. I'll one by one them this time and just do the next portion of my report from home. Thanks for working on it though!

Just tried out the Multi-Uploader and found the following bugs while uploading photos:

-When additional sets of photos were uploaded, they would be displayed in reverse order at the top of the list, with all the other photos in the correct order below them. Going into preview mode put all the pictures in the correct order.

-When an image was deleted, the other pictures near the deleted image would be shuffled around in a seemingly random manner.

-For some strange reason, one random photo from the previous set would be duplicated and inserted with each new set at a random place.

-The uploader would give me an error when I selected 25 images, but was fine with 20.

-When multiple photos were assigned the same number, they would display in reverse alphabetical order.

To get everything to work, I just uploaded everything, deleted the photos I didn't want, then manually renumbered everything before adding captions. When posting, the only glitch I noticed was that a backslash was inserted before each apostrophe in the captions (ex: it's became it\'s...I left this for investigation, trip report here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1346601#p1346601). For reference, I am using Internet Explorer 10. I didn't take any screenshots, but when I do the next part of my trip report I'll take screenshots if the glitches persist.

Even with these minor bugs, the Multi-Uploader is still far better than uploading single images. I was able to get all the images uploaded in about a 1/3 the time and didn't have to make sure they were uploaded in the exact order I wanted them to display (or I could adjust it if I goofed).

I cannot get this one to happen:

-The uploader would give me an error when I selected 25 images, but was fine with 20.

On for this one...

-When multiple photos were assigned the same number, they would display in reverse alphabetical order.

Do you mean order number or file name number? In either case, the instructions DO tell you that the files need to be named in consecutive order, and if give two images the same order number that doesn't seem logical. So I'm not sure this is an actual bug, unless you mean something else.

The rest of them I'll add to the list:

-When additional sets of photos were uploaded, they would be displayed in reverse order at the top of the list, with all the other photos in the correct order below them. Going into preview mode put all the pictures in the correct order.

-When an image was deleted, the other pictures near the deleted image would be shuffled around in a seemingly random manner.

-For some strange reason, one random photo from the previous set would be duplicated and inserted with each new set at a random place.

Tried it again and it's probably user error. Since I was picking out individual images I must have accidentally selected too many at once by mistake.

This occurred when I hit preview or deleted a file while renumbering. Since photos are not automatically renumbered, the system allows two photos with the same order number to exist at once. Here's what I mean (example not from my trip report, just a test I did here):

441510541_Test1.jpg.32deadc95bb77d36e17764a6cc9a326b.jpg

IMG_2981 is ranked 4 and IMG_2982 is ranked 5. This is the order they are ranked in by default.

2074278032_Test2.thumb.jpg.aa36c4494c1bfe90a274866497c1de79.jpg

If the images were shuffled (due to another bug or incorrect naming) and one is deleted while numbering, it is possible to have two with the same ranking at the same time. Here, IMG_2982 displays before IMG_2981 even though it should be after it by alphabetical order.

I doubt this would cause too many issues as pictures won't automatically be ranked the same, but I thought I should mention it. It may be worth looking into an automatic renumbering system at some point so that this can't occur and there aren't gaps when a file is deleted (every time I deleted a picture it would skip a number in the rankings i.e. 1...2...4... instead of 1...2...3...).

Edit: Just noticed that placing images inline reverses the order.

I've just posted a trip report with the multi uploader, and it worked perfectly ! The only problem is the place all inline function that places the pictures in reverse order, as mentionned in previous posts. For the rest, it's an incredible time saver, thanks !

^ & ^^ I believe all these issues should now be fixed with the most recent update from this morning. Please test out and let me know!

The only issue i encountered was when I previewed my post. All of the pictures were in reverse order but when I submitted the pictures, they went back in order. Other than that, it was flawless and made uploading pictures easier.
