Imagine this: You’re soaring 400 feet above the Las Vegas Strip, strung on a zip line between the Rio’s two towers.

Now, come back to reality, where the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino plans to roll out the VooDoo Skyline this summer.

The two-seater zip ride starts at the VooDoo Lounge, atop the Rio’s 50-story Masquerade tower. From there, riders zip along about 800 feet — reaching a top-speed of 33 mph — before coming to a short rest at the Rio’s Ipanema tower.

But it doesn’t stop there. From the Ipanema tower, riders are launched backward toward where they started.

From start to finish, the ride lasts one minute and 10 seconds.

The VooDoo Skyline is the brainchild of New Capital Ventures partners Joe Shortal and Jonathan Borchetta, and Stan Checketts, who has created more than 200 amusement rides.

“When developing VooDoo Skyline, we sought to create a one-of-a-kind, adrenaline-packed Vegas experience,” Shortal said in a statement.

VooDoo Skyline — which will bring about 40 jobs to the area — will be open 7 days a week, offering rides from noon to midnight.

I hope since it appears to be somewhat controlled (judging by the fact it goes backwards), there will be a pause for you to take into the view.

I like how it says over the strip. Last I checked, the Rio was on the other side of the freeway.

Sooooo, the Voodoo Zipline at Rio should open any day now. That's all well and good, except for the pricing -

$27.49 before 5:30pm.

$42.50 after 5:30pm.

For a zipline. $42.50 for a zipline that isn't even a real zipline. Are you kidding me? And Caesars wonders why they're $24 billion in debt? It's because nobody wants to pay your ridiculous prices! I can guarantee that if this was $5-$10 a pop they'd sell out constantly. Same for High Roller. I've heard tons of complaints about the pricing there, but even I agree that a $35 nighttime ride for a half-hour ride is a WAY better deal than $42.50 for one minute of fun.

I'd honestly rather give my money to Manhattan Express ($14) for two (or even three!) rides than pay that price for one ride on the Voodoo Zipline.
