haydawg149 Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 yea same...i just got a brand new computer and couldnt wait to install and play it...but when i went to start a game....it totally screwed up my computer...it says theres a major error....and man was i pissed!!! i kept tryin at it and messin with some things and then sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldnt... so now i dont ever play it. im back to RCT2.its almost as good....but i liked RCT3 more becasue some of the ride elements were more realistic, like the pendulume swings, and the larger corkscrews. but i hated the graphics and how when u went to build a coaster you had to build it SUPER HUGEin order for it to work at the right speed......i the Inatimin launch coasters.....psh..those sucked!!! u didnt have a big slope to vertical or anything...its all just really CRAPPY!!!
maliboomer Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 ^We're not McDonalds, you don't have to tell us what you want twice.
coasterdude5 Posted March 20, 2005 Author Posted March 20, 2005 LETS TRY TO GET BACK ON SUBJECT (RCT4)
rollercoaster_fan_1 Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 hmmmmm I think the terrain tools in RCT3 were really terrible...It was so confusin/hard to get use to...the one thing other than catwalks in the coasters that annoy me was in the B&M flyer and it doesn't have a large loop right or left in the pretzel loop and you have to use to bend left/right tool...
Token Yankee Guy Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Here are my thoughts on RCT3 which are similar to a few peoples 1) Cartoonish 2) The size persepective of everything is off, everything to me seems big and blocky 3) I prefered how RCT2 was where everything had a smooth feal to it and your buildings didn't look like junk in RCT3 4) The building mode for rollercoasters I hate on RCT3, it's complicated. I liked the old way they have it Now if they do come out with a RCT4 1) make it more realistic, similar to RCT2 but you can still ride the rides and walk around as a peep 2) Having it online so you can visit other parks people made, that will be cool.
coasterdude5 Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 I agree- everything in RCT3 seems to be much more complicated than the previous games. It is also very cartoonish.
coasterdude5 Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 I thought up of another thing: Have you noticed how all of the peeps automattically go to the front of the train? This gets on my nerves very easily. I like to see a variation of people sitting in different places. Also-Have you noticed, when you build an indoor coaster it's not completely dark? I hate that because when I build and indoor ride I want it to be dark. Not just kind of dim. Those are some more things I would change.
BiCoastal Kid Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 If they made an RCT4 I'd want it to be just like RCT2, but with less limitations when it comes to numbers of rides available and staff stuff. Of course, Id also like my computer to not have seizures when it runs.
coasterdude5 Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 I agree. They should have graphics like RCT2 but maybe have more views like 6 instead of four like in the Sims 1. That would appeal to more computers.
nev Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 I think adding coaster company names would make the process a lot more complicated in the real world - can you imagine the legality of making Vekoma rides rough by default and other brands, such as B&M, more smooth? If that's not an invite to a slander-based law suit from Vekoma I don't know what is! Maybe a better option would be to have a "ride source" location - for example, when you build a coaster, you could have two options: 1) Build locally - this would be the cheapest and quickest to create, but would be more intense due to a less refined ride quality. 2) Build at best location - this option would be more expensive, but would be more reliable and more enjoyable for peeps to ride on. This way, you're not getting into the whole naming companies thing, the general public might be able to understand what the heck they're buying, and those of us in the know can sit back and laugh quietly, knowing exactly what locally and overseas built means in reality Other things I'd like to see (and some may have already been mentioned) - The ability to visit your park as a guest (this might actually cut back on resources if developers created a separate mode of gameplay (eg: Sandbox / Career / Guest mode. This way, all the ride controls wouldn't need to be accessible. You could visit the park as a guest with a certain amount of money, and have to queue and walk like every other guest. - For it to actually be dark inside enclosed structures (my mine ride only works at night time at the moment!) - Ability to do powered launches at various points on the track, not just from the stations. - Addition of an Intamin drop ride (Giant Drop, Space Probe, etc) - Implementation of the fly through video functionality, so you can create video files of park fly throughs. - More scenery that can be triggered by passing rides. I love the existing stuff, but more would be even better. - Tunnels (goes without saying, and how hard can this be really?) - Ability to run the game in real time mode (would be boring a lot of the time, but would be great if you could build hotels and see everyone go home, as well as the morning rush, etc) That's all I can think of at the moment.... Cheers Richard
coasterdude5 Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 - Ability to do powered launches at various points on the track, not just from the stations. You can put block sections and set a high launch speed. That usually will work.
Movieguy Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I agree about the tunnels. I was so disappointed that you couldn't make those in this game. And it's basically a sluggish game all around, even on my HP Pavillion.
coasterdude5 Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 I agree MovieGuy, no tunnels is bad. You have to dig a trench and put a block over it just for it to be similar.
coasters 4 me Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 yeah, that is so annoying, you cant make tunnels. Sorry if this has been mentioned, but it would be cool if you could do more things with the Inverted Impulse coaster, like Volcano the Blast Coaster, Inversions etc. But also, a rocket coaster would be cool. Like overbanks, turns etc. But in real life, you dont launch in less than one second, but if the launch was like a real life launch, like on TTD, Xcelerator etc.
coasterdude5 Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 I agree, some of the best coasters on the game are limited because of their lack of elements. Like the rocket coaster, you can do a TTD layout and that's about it. I hope Soaked solves this with more elements for these rides.
coasterdude5 Posted July 9, 2005 Author Posted July 9, 2005 Ok everybody, now that Soaked! is out what are things that you still crave for? For me I still want -Paths that go ACROSS train tracks. I hate building over or under them. -ACTUAL signs, not those stupid scrolling things. -Ummm... What is up with the Storm Runner? You only have three types of inversions! -And of course more ride elements That's all for now.
it Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 These games are picky I think that i need to buy a new graphics card each time a game comes out.
Mr.Six Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 These games are picky I think that i need to buy a new graphics card each time a game comes out. The games aren't "picky" (not even sure what that really means). Its just that you need a better Graphic Card to run the programs which have better graphics as the years go on. Michael"Infact you don't even need that good of a Graphic Card to run RCT3...just not an ultra crappy one"Thomas
coasterdude5 Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 ^I think what he meant was that RCT3 only supported a few graphics cards which isn't true.
it Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Well, yeah but if they do come out with a RCT4 I think you shouldent have to buy the latest in ATI or a GeForce8 or what ever they come out with.
coasterdude5 Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Yeah, ummm... that didn't make alot of sense but I get what you're saying... I think. Oh yeah- it's shouldn't not shouldent.
