intaminfan98 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I can only go to one and have limited time in the park. I am getting fast lane but I want to know which park i should go to.
imawesome1124 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I've never been to Carowinds but I can tell you that KD has one of if not the best steel coasters in the world, an excellent B&M, Volcano and Flight of Fear which are awesome, the very underrated Grizzly, and some other decent rides.
bottom_feeder_13 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I agree with the above, the only things that Carrowinds has over KD are that their Hurler is better (not saying much), Nighthawk, which is unlike anything KD has, and I enjoy a lot, and Afterburn is significantly better than Volcano (IMO). Other than that I305 is a really great coaster and definitely better than Intrimidator (which can be wonderful on select rides but is just okay about 85% of the time), both stand-ups are decent but KD's is frightening with the airtime, Rebel Yell was running great at ECB but the last time I rode Thunder Road it was dire, as for every thing else KD is better by a long shot.
rcdude Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 If you're getting Fast Lane, definitely Kings Dominion. Practically everything about that park is better. Grizzly is the best wood coaster at either park, Rebel Yell is pretty good, and Kings Dominion has four excellent steel coasters (Dominator, Flight of Fear, Intimidator 305, and Volcano). The non-coaster ride selection is also better at Kings Dominion. If you weren't getting Fast Lane and had 1/2 day or less, Carowinds would be the better choice, but otherwise...definitely Kings Dominion.
beatle11 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Kings Dominion...no contest. This. I305 alone makes it better.
intaminfan98 Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Is there any perticular order that I should ride the coasters. I only have 5-6 hours.
SharkTums Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 With Fast Lane it doesn't matter too much. Keep in mind that Avalanche usually doesn't open till Noon, and I believe the stand up does the same thing. Go get the credits that AREN'T on Fast Lane first before it gets busy then do the rest.
CPFanBoy Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 ^ Avalanche AND Backlot Stunt Coaster both open at noon. Do whatever you want with the Fast Lane because the coasters that don't have the FL don't have lines.
larrygator Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Do whatever you want with the Fast Lane because the coasters that don't have the FL don't have lines. Those that wait 45 minutes for Ricochet would disagree.
