RCBoilermaker14
Dollywood Trip March 25,2012 Okay guys I went to Dollywood on Sunday,my first trip to Dollywood of the season.I had a great time, and it didn't rain there all day I was there.Thunderhead was running great after the retracking with a lot more airtime than it had last year.Timber Tower is truely gone, and has been replaced by a picnic area for the new pizza place across from the former station of Timber Tower.Wild Eagle is awesome from the accounts of parents(I didn't go on because I wanted to get a lot of pictures and I was on a time limit.).They said it was very smooth, and really cool. The line was shockingly short, espcially for a new coaster. The steel eagle is really awesome and large.Overall I`ll say that that whole area is a piece of art. For some reason Blazing Fury had no lights on,the "Fire in the Hole"is missing, and no getting sprayed on the side.I wonder if it was just that day.Barnstromer was running fine, and the rest of the park looked great. That day was also my first time trying cinnamon bread,it was amazing. On a last note Veggietales Sideshow Spin is now just Sideshow Spin with a new paint job.(Sadly no pictures.)Also you know one of the pathways to get the County Fair with those giant vegetables has been landscaped over, and the vegetables are now a part of the theming on Sideshow Spin.Overall just a great day. Part 1 Pictures:Entrance and Timber Tower Part 2 Coming Soon! Welcome to Dollywood! Dollywood is all around the world. Timber Canyon this way. Oh look it's,nevermind. Look at the machine thingy. Timber Tower`s former station. Steam Machine. More of the old station. The log saw above the old station. Old queue line. These are the tables where a ride used to be. Beaver nest for Justin Beaver. Bear cave outward. Bear cave inward. More logs left over from Timber Tower. What remains of Timber Tower.
robbalvey
Nice start to the TR. I would honestly wait until Sunday night or Monday to do the next part. Posting a new report on a Friday night is kind of like 'Trip Report suicide" as it's our least busy time of the week, and I worry that adding to the report now might just end up getting buried. Wait a day or two and then do more! Â Hope that helps! Â --Robb
RCBoilermaker14
^Thanks,it will probably be Sunday night, since I'll have free time.I'll be focusing on getting more of my RCT3 park up tomorrow anyway.
Intimidator305
Thanks for sharing these pictures of where Timber Tower once was. I was really curious of what it looked like. Hopefully, Dollywood will put another flat ride there in 2014.
imawesome1124
Thanks for the pictures. Dollywood is very high on my "must visit" list as well as it's sister park Silver Dollar City.
RCBoilermaker14
^^Your both very welcome. We all know that the picnic area is temporary, and when you get to Dollywood,it's a very nice and clean place plus the theming, rides, shows, and food make it even better. When you go Dollywood it feels like home in a amusement/theme park, plus the staff is mostly friendly, except for the people at the gate, and a couple of ride-ops. ernierocker
^Please, stop bumping your own thread. I already had to delete a pointless post of yours today that added nothing to this topic other than to move it to the top of the forum. Please refrain from doing this in the future. If people want to comment, they will and you are certainly welcome to respond to them at that time. Â -Eric (Site Moderator)
slappybob
Well finally got my ride on Wild Eagle today and all I can say is WOW!!! The views were just amazing even tho I only got to ride once it quickly became the best coaster in Dollywood I would have rode the other coasters but the lines were way to long, even Tennessee Tornados line reached out to where you enter Adventure Mountain!!! But other than Wild Eagle I finally rode the Barnstormer this has got to be one of the most thrilling flat rides I've ever been on( first screaming swing) there was barely even a line so I rode it twice. Finally the last "new" thing I did was try Cinnamon bread or the bread from the Heavens this was one of the greatest things ive ever tasted can't wait to go get some more. Overall I had a good day ( would've been better if it was less crowded but oh well can't stop people going to this amazing park.)

Glad you had a great time. You should have rode Thunderhead,it's one of the best wood coasters around with a lot of airtime and is really smooth for a wood coaster. Also did you check out Blazing Fury or anything else. samisthabomb
Wow, I had no idea Timber Tower was removed. Makes sense though - it gave a pretty dull ride and was a maintenance nightmare. Anyways, great photos! I still scold myself for not getting any cinnamon bread the last time I was there.
