Pearl Land Is Removing Coasters

Pearl Land in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China recently removed the loop and corkscrew coaster there and is in the process of removing the Jet Coaster. When I learned of the removal of the looping coaster, I went by the park a few days ago and walked along a road by the park to see if the Jet Coaster was being removed and sure enough, it is. I took a few pictures through the weeds and the fence. I went to Pearl Land over a year ago and the big coasters were not open. I was told they never would reopen. Everytime I go by this park, there are less than five cars on the parking lot and a few buses. I have no clue what even keeps this place going. It is a shame that a relatively large park is without a major coaster. I think they should just close the place down and be done with it. The ferris wheel and log flume here do not operate anymore.

It seems that quite a few of the Chinese parks are dead all the time. I think that they clearly over built parks in that country, and now that they're getting a taste of 'real' parks and rides these smaller parks with crap are going to start disappearing.

After watching Robb's POV I'm just not sure how the coaster world will survive the loss of what appears to be such a fantastic ride.

 

Robb, from my computer screen it looked like that thing was having a really hard time making it up the lift. Was it actually that bad in person, or is watching the video just making it seem worse then it really was?

Didnt realize my hair was that thin on top and it is a lot grayer now!

 

Not one of the greatest parks we visited and it was funny listening to our guide say "Pearl" ALways sad to see a coaster taken out even if it wasn't very good.
